The birth went remarkably well.
Aya pushed for about fifteen minutes until the baby’s head appeared.
Seeing the baby’s head, Kenshin got scared again and froze for a few seconds, not knowing what to do.
But then he pulled himself together and began carefully pulling the child out.
A few minutes later, Kenshin was holding the baby in his arms, who silently looked at him with his little blue eyes.
“Aya, look how cute he is.
Here, little Ichiro, go to your mom,” Kenshin whispered, and handed him over.
“Oh God, he’s so adorable!” Aya said happily, taking the boy in her arms.
The blue-eyed baby looked at Aya and started crying loudly, squinting his eyes toward Kenshin.
“Be a good boy, don’t cry.
This is your mom,” Kenshin said with a smile, and leaned down to gently kiss his son on the top of his head.
As if hearing Kenshin’s words, the baby fell silent instantly and looked at his mom.
Aya pressed her son to her and kissed him tenderly: “You’re so beautiful, oh God…
My little Ichiro, you’ll grow up and become a strong shinobi!” Aya declared enthusiastically, then shifted her gaze to Kenshin and added: “You know, I always fell asleep listening to Grandpa’s stories about his father, my great-grandfather.
I imagined that all his made-up stories were true, and that I am the great-granddaughter of a descendant of the great Uchiha Clan!”
Hearing Aya’s last words, the smile froze on Kenshin’s face, and he suddenly asked: “What stories?
The Uchiha Clan?..”
“Oh, it’s just the ramblings of a old drunkard.
As a child, I believed every word with admiration, but now I understand that my great-grandfather couldn’t have been the son of the Uchiha Clan, supposedly abandoned by his parents in a simple village while fleeing a terrible pursuit.
Great-grandfather always told this incredible story, until real members of the Uchiha Clan heard it.
They beat him brutally, breaking several of his ribs.
After that incident, my great-grandfather stopped telling the story to just anyone, but he told it to my grandfather, and my grandfather told me.”
“Yeahhh, your great-grandfather’s in a tough spot…” the young man sighed, half-disappointed, realizing he had gotten excited too soon.
“Ichiro, little one, are you hungry?” Aya asked in a gentle tone, and brought him to her breast.
The boy, as if on command, latched onto her right breast and silently began to feed.
Kenshin decided not to disturb them and left the room.
Three hours later, the young father blinked his eyes in surprise when Aya walked out of the bedroom as if nothing had happened.
Her belly was flat again, without a single stretch mark or sag, and her vagina was tight and firm again.
“Wow!
The system must have worked its magic!” the young man thought enthusiastically, and hugged Aya, looking at his first son.
Suddenly, an idea came to Kenshin.
Looking at the baby, he mentally whispered “Status,” and a small summary appeared before him.
Name: Nakayama Ichiro
Age: 62 days
Talent Level: 16
Expected Development Rank: Genin.
Chances of Further Achievements:
Chunin — 40%
Jonin — 1%
Kage — 0.001%
* * *
“What?
62 days?
Hmm, maybe the system is counting based on the accelerated development time of the child…”
After carefully reading the description of each item, Kenshin understood that the system had adapted to the ranks of this world and was evaluating talent in terms of achievements in chakra control.
“Hmm, so the talent level is an indicator of a shinobi’s future achievements.
Ichiro’s number is 16, which means his expected development is peak genin, with a possible achievement of the chunin rank…
Hmm, if the number were 20, it would mean he could reach the chunin level without much trouble…” Kenshin mused, assessing future prospects.
“Ichiro, look how much Daddy loves you, he can’t take his eyes off you, right, Kenshin?” Aya asked with a cheerful smile, and started cooing at the baby, kissing him and showering him with maternal tenderness.
“Mhm…
Ichiro, grow up quickly, your father needs an assistant!” Kenshin said with a laugh, and hugged his wife and son.
“Don’t listen to him, little one.
Daddy’s joking.
Grow as much as you want, Mommy will take care of you!” Aya declared, unable to get enough of the joy of becoming a mother.
The next few hours passed unnoticed.
The baby either slept or ate, but didn’t cry, and often looked toward his father.
Aya and Kenshin had dinner and went to sleep.
Because the bed in the bedroom was dirty, the girl and the baby used the bed in the “guest” room, and Kenshin had to squeeze onto one of the four beds in the “barracks.” But he didn’t complain, understanding perfectly well that the mother and child needed a good rest on the first night.
Waking up in the morning, Kenshin couldn’t believe he had become a father.
He got out of bed and found Aya sitting at the kitchen table, with the baby placed in front of her, playing happily with him.
Ichiro was laughing loudly and playing with his mom, without a care in the world.
Seeing Kenshin, Aya said: “Oh, good morning.
Look, our little one has already cut his teeth!
I can’t believe how fast he’s growing.”
Kenshin noticed that the baby had indeed gotten much bigger overnight, and couldn’t help but wonder where the growing organism got its energy.
Deciding it was another mystery of the “system,” he dismissed these useless thoughts and kissed the girl and the baby.
“So, you little bandit, growing up?” Kenshin asked his first son with a smile.
The baby didn’t answer, only squealed happily and reached both hands out to Kenshin, asking to be held.
The young father took his son in his arms and played with him for about ten minutes, spinning him around the whole kitchen to the baby’s ringing laughter and the girl’s tender gaze.
The rest of the day passed quite routinely.
Aya fussed over the baby, while Kenshin trained in the gym, caught four live hares, having specially modified the formation so that it now made the hares jump into the snare at a certain angle and get caught by their hind legs.
After lunch, the young man rested a bit, waiting out the heat, spending time with his wife and child.
By evening, Kenshin went to pick berries and spent about an hour gathering the local equivalent of the blackberries he knew.
Then the young man headed to the river and took a few fish from the artificial cage, throwing some boiled grain to the rest.
Then he headed home.
