Scarlett Xavier took her clothes into the bathroom, had a shower—she had slept at the store yesterday without washing—and had been running around all day today.

When she came out, she was already wearing Julian Rhodes’ clothes.Full novel: Incredibly In Love: Dr. Griffin’s Absolute Darling — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

His T-shirt was so long that she could easily wear it as a dress.

After washing up, she lay down on the bed, suddenly remembering Julian Rhodes; she was sleeping in his room, where would he sleep?

…

Julian Rhodes was usually focused on work and sometimes could even spend the whole night on the studio sofa.

At this moment, he was sleeping on the sofa in the living room.

Tidying up the guest room was too much hassle, and he couldn’t be bothered.

He had a medical book in his hand and was reading it, but Scarlett’s face kept involuntarily popping up in his mind.

For a man accustomed to being single, even if one person is in the bedroom and the other in the living room, having a woman in the house makes things feel different somehow.

…

He put down the book and lay down to sleep.

However, at around two in the morning, he still couldn’t sleep.

This was not at all like his usual fall-asleep-as-soon-as-he-hit-the-bed nature.

…

The bedroom door was slightly ajar, and Scarlett came out.

She had held it in for a long time, feeling parched and wanting a drink of water.

As she stepped out, she saw Julian lying on the sofa, the lamp beside him still on.

As soon as she came out, his deep eyes landed on her.

Scarlett said, “I’m going to get some water.”

After speaking, she went directly to find a cup and pour some water.

Julian remained lying on the sofa, unmoved, watching her wander around in his clothes.

He had little interest in women; to him, men and women were the same—all just patients.

Yet, somehow, watching her move back and forth, something inside him seemed to suddenly snap.

…

After drinking her water, Scarlett turned to see Julian staring at her.

She said, “You should get some sleep.”

Then she walked back into the bedroom, closed the door, and resumed sleeping.

In the morning, Scarlett opened her eyes, just in time to see Julian with his back to her, standing in front of the mirror, changing clothes.

He was tying his tie and glanced at her now awake through the mirror.

Scarlett quickly sat up and said, “Morning.”

Julian said, “Later, move your stuff over here.

You’ll be staying here these days until you recover, then if you want to find a place or anything, it’s up to you.”

“I’m already better today.” Scarlett spoke, realizing her voice was still a bit hoarse.

Though her fever had subsided, she wasn’t completely well yet.

Julian laughed at her words, “What, afraid to move in with me?

Worried I might make a move on you?

Don’t worry, I have very high standards.”

“…” Scarlett was speechless, knowing he was using a goad tactic.

What did this man mean?

How was she lacking?

Looking at Julian, she retorted without backing down, “It’s not impossible.

With my figure and looks, there aren’t many normal men who could resist my charm… unless… he can’t.”

The words “he can’t” were deliberately emphasized.

Julian: “…”

Not only that, Scarlett glanced at his lower body while speaking, “Mr.

Rhodes, all these years without a woman around… are you sure you’re still functioning?”

Over the years, Scarlett had developed a habit of never losing out in any situation while she was outside.

If someone bullied her, she’d repay them double.

This annoying man belittled her charm, but she wasn’t easy to take advantage of.

Knowing what men feared most, she deliberately pointed it out.

Julian’s hand, which was tying the tie, directly pulled it off because of her words.

He walked over, looking at Scarlett, who was about to get up, and pushed her back onto the bed, “Do you want to try, Miss Xavier, if I’m capable or not?”
