3rd Person POV

Somewhere in an unknown place stands a beautiful man who seems to radiate from himself. He has his eyes turned inward and a hand on his chin. Then the corners of his mouth lift into a wide, smug grin.

“Ah, I love this world. It is so ordered, so beautiful in itself. She’s almost perfect.”

Several other people stand at a distance and frown. They are visibly annoyed by this figure and his behavior. Some look at him with pity. You can hear quiet voices.

“Is Lumos looking at Narran again? What does he find in this world?”

“I think she is a reflection of his personality. On the one hand, bright and beautiful, but on the other hand, there are deep, dark abysses when you look behind the facade.”

There are approving comments from some.

“I could watch those humans all the time. They are so strong, so faithful, glorious. A feast for the eyes.” Lumos brags.

The man puts his hand on his forehead and tilts his head back slightly. The pose is hard to beat in terms of self-satisfaction.

“He made the humas of Narran what they are. For the worse, in my opinion." A viewer mutters.

The quiet murmur continues until a strong female voice, dripping with cynicism, echoes through the place.

“Look, the god of narcissists is once again celebrating how great he is. It’s nice how successfully you manipulated your little sheeps.” Woman declares.

“Oho, that’s trouble. Luna is fully on the attack again.”

“Only Lumos can do that to the peace-loving Luna.”

“Just don’t let either of them hear that, otherwise you’ll get involved."

“Let’s get to safety.” Different spectators comment.

The spectators move back significantly further. Meanwhile, a beautiful woman with long, black hair approaches the man. Anger sparkles in her blue eyes.

“Oh dear, if it isn't poor Luna. You're just jealous that no one in this world worships you." Lumos teases.

“And whose fault is that? Your little dolls have been so successfully indoctrinated by you that they will not tolerate other gods. They murded or enslaved all non-human people.” Luna complains.

“Ehehe, do you want some? Oh no, that doesn't work. The moon has become a bad omen. Hahahahaha!” Lumos laughs.

Next, a loud clap is heard. The man's head is thrown to the side. A red hand print can be seen on his cheek. There is dead silence. The spectators all held their breath, although a few light giggles could be heard. The man looks at the woman, his expression distorted with anger.

“You’ll pay me for this, Luna. You will pay dearly for this humiliation, no, I know something better. You will all pay for this. I see the pitying looks you always give me. I will ensure that no other race other than humans will live on Narran." Lumos declares.

“I know something even better. Why don’t we make it a competition?” A new female voice speaks.

A woman emerges from the audience. Everything about her radiates neutrality and justice.

“Justicia, why do you have to interfere now. I can sort it out myself.”  Lumos laments.

"No you can not. You know full well that we shouldn't interfere on worlds ourselves. Do you want to risk that? Or are you afraid of losing to Luna?" Justicia answers matter-of-factly.

"What I? Fear? Do not make a fool of yourself. Well, generous as I am, I can't refuse a woman such a request. Nobody should be able to claim that I am a coward.”  Lumos says self-confident.

“Are you okay with this, Luna?”  Justicia turns to Luna.

“It depends on the type of competition and what I have to win or lose.”  Luna says.

“I’ll get to that later. Since your dispute is about Narran, the contest shall take place on Narran.”

“But I’m clearly at a disadvantage. After all, Lumos mentioned that I have no followers on Narran.”

Justicia's eyebrow raises at the last comment.

“Then your fighters must come from outside. The only question that remains is whether they are summoned or reincarnated. What do you prefer?”

“Of course reincarnated people, what else?”  Lumos interjects.

Luna looks at Lumos with a skeptical look and thinks for a while. Then she nods.

"Agreed. If we have a choice as to where our champions will be reincarnated.” Luna says.

The corners of Lumo's mouth lift back into his cocky grin. Luna, on the other hand, is calm.

“Let us now come to the number of your champions. I suggest several. How about four?”  Justicia suggests.

“Four sounds perfect. That’s how you couls build up a nice party.” (Lumos)

“The usual rules regarding what abilities we can give our fighters?” Luna adds.

“Yes, the system has proven itself. You have your pool to choose from. Of course only what skills and abilities are regularly available on Narran.” Justicia clarifies.

“Hahaha, then the whole thing will be child’s play. Hahahahaha!” Lumos is laughing and full of confident.

Luna doesn't say anything else about it. She appears highly concentrated and thoughtful.

“Then we come to the end of the competition. As always, there are the usual two options. Either we set a goal and whichever group reaches it first wins. Or the classic goal, whoever survives has won.” Justicia adds.

“For me, survival is enough as a goal, but I don't want to demotivate poor Luna directly. I agree.” Lumos says.

"I agree too." Luna adds.

If Lumos was already complacent before, this is only getting worse. The aura he exudes is full of self-confidence. Luna, on the other hand, doesn't change her expression and doesn't show anything. The first observers wonder what Luna is planning. She is obviously at a distinct disadvantage.

“And lastly, the reward for the winner. Each of you can now say what the loser should do. Or do you want to wait until the end of the competition?” Justicia asks.

“I don’t need to wait. I already know what I want. Luna, you humiliated me and I want revenge for it. If I win, I want you to kiss my bare feet and praise me for my beauty and magnificence. I’m looking forward to that.” Lumos declares.

Luna grimaces briefly in disgust, which only makes Lumo's grin grow wider. Then she catches herself and her neutral expression returns.

“I'll wait until the end to do it. I don’t want to spoil your fun just yet.” Luna speaks unemotionally.

"Then it's supposed to be like that. I declare the contest open between Lumos, god of the sun and dominion, and Luna, goddess of the moon and night. I will announce the verdict in front of everyone at the end. You can now go and get your souls that you want to reincarnate. The original world is said to be Earth. The souls there know no magic and have no other special abilities. Ideal for shaping them according to your wishes. I will select a pool of 100 souls for you to choose from. The rest is up to you. Good luck.” Justicia announces.

Without even looking at Lumos, Luna turns on her heel and leaves the place. A wild discussion immediately begins among the observers.
