The time had come to put an end to this.

The silence that followed my words was so suffocating that the distant dripping of the mystical pool boomed like thunder through the cavern.

My porcelain claws remained pressed against Carmilla’s cold lips. Beneath her pale flesh, I could feel the razor-sharp edges of her hidden fangs, poised to shred my tendons as effortlessly as parting a cobweb.Full novel: Infinite Seduction: Reincarnated as a Kitsune in the Infernal Abyss — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Behind me, my two silver tails rose motionless, humming with an electric tension that held my spectral fire bound in a silent, watchful mist.

The Vampire Progenitor’s crimson irises didn't blink for a single second. They widened in a fraction of a heartbeat, shifting from absolute shock to a frigid, ancient, bloodthirsty fury.

A marble hand struck like lightning.

Carmilla’s freezing fingers clamped around my right wrist like a forged-iron shackle. The pressure was instantaneous, grinding delicate bones to the very brink of splintering.

She yanked me forward, wrenching me off balance until my face was bare inches from hers.

Her eyes bored into mine with lethal chill.

“Insolent...?” Her voice hissed like a blade slicing through silk in the dark. “No living creature has dared lay a finger upon my mouth in three hundred years, little vermin.

And none has ever dared utter that beast’s name without me ripping their tongue out by the roots. Who do you think you are?”

The cloying stench of dried roses and embalmed death thickened, choking the air from my lungs.

The veins along her neck darkened, and her upper fangs lengthened, gleaming against her lower lip.

I was utterly terrified. Not even in my previous deaths had I felt such suffocating dread.

Yet I didn't flinch.

I didn't try to pull away. I didn't struggle against the iron grip threatening to snap my radius and ulna.

Instead, I drove my slit-pupil golden eyes straight into the crimson abyss of her gaze, letting a slow, brazen smile curl my lips without a sliver of submission.

“Then get used to it, Carmilla,” I said, my voice smooth and coated in venom, echoing off the stone walls.

“Because you’re not ripping out a damn thing. I know it, and you know it.”

“Do you truly believe a pretty face and silver fur make you untouchable?” the vampire hissed.

Her free hand shot up, sinking sharp nails into the nape of my neck, forcing my head back to bare my pulsing throat.

“A single twitch of my fingers, and your blood will soak the stones of this pool. You will die before that little fox heart beats another stroke.”

“Kill me then,” I replied without blinking, feeling the razor edges of her claws graze my bare skin.

“Go on. Tear my throat out just like you did with every other fool who tumbled down that fissure.

But once my corpse rots away in this puddle, you’ll be right back on your decaying velvet throne, sipping stale wine in the pitch-black, rotting alone for another three hundred years.”

Carmilla froze. Her crimson pupils dilated a fraction of a millimeter.

“I know what this abyss is,” I pressed on, taking half a step closer and defying the iron grip on my wrist.

“I know the exit is sealed by the magic of the ancient gods.

And I know what you’re far too proud to admit: that neither all your Progenitor might, nor all the shadows in your dead blood, have ever been enough to crack a single rune of that barrier.”

“Silence...” she whispered. But the murderous bite had bled from her tone, replaced by an unsteady tremor of disbelief and paranoia.

“You need the other half,” I declared, leaning in until my lips brushed her icy earlobe.

“You need the fire that never dies. You need Ignis’s core just as much as she needs your blood to neutralize that seal.

But you’re both so laughably arrogant, so poisoned by jealousy and mutual spite, that you’d rather suffocate in this infernal tomb than look each other in the eye without trying to tear each other to pieces.”

Silence crashed over us once more.

Activating [Aura Sight], I watched the violet currents around her silhouette violently contort.

The shadowy chains of her paranoia writhed, but dead center in her chest, the dense knot of centuries-old isolation throbbed with a raw vulnerability she would never have exposed to a living soul.

Slowly, the crushing grip around my wrist began to yield.

Carmilla didn't cast me aside with disdain. Instead, she glided her pale fingers down my forearm, tracing the reddened skin where her grip had nearly crushed bone.

Her crimson eyes roved over my face, taking in my alert fox ears and the twin silver tails swaying behind me like banners of cold white flame.

She was taking in every inch of my body, drinking in the sight with unabashed fascination.

“How do you know all of this?” she murmured.

For the first time across eight loops, the aristocratic condescension had vanished entirely; it was the raw, unvarnished question of a woman watching the ground crumble beneath her feet. “You were just reborn from the mire. You’re a Kitsune who has barely drawn breath in this world for an hour. Who put you here, Elina? Who sent you?”

“Nobody sent me,” I said, softening my voice into an intoxicating purr. “The abyss doesn't grant second chances to lambs. It gave me this body and these memories so I could be the one to decide who walks out of this grave—and who stays behind to rot. And to give you everything you desire.”

Carmilla let out a ragged, hysterical laugh that echoed off the vaulted stone ceiling.

She pressed a hand to her brow, shaking her head in a daze of dark, lethal fascination.

“A creature who threatens her captor... what an exquisite aberration,” she breathed. Her hand dropped, catching my chin between her thumb and forefinger with unsettling tenderness.

“Very well, little vixen. You want to play master of the board. You want a queen of the night to strike a truce with a filthy lizard.

But you should know that pacts between monsters aren't forged with sweet words, nor with righteous speeches about freedom.”

“Name your terms,” I demanded without hesitation.

Carmilla smiled, her eyes flaring with a carnal, possessive hunger that sent goosebumps racing down my spine.

“If you expect me to sit at the table with that beast of fire... you must first prove you belong to my side.

I will not brand you with my blood to destroy you, Elina; I am not so reckless.

She leaned in, eliminating the remaining distance until the arctic chill of her chest pressed flush against my bare skin. With the tip of a razor-sharp nail, she carved a fine slit across the palm of my left hand.

A bead of shimmering silver kitsune blood welled to the surface, glowing faintly in the gloom.

Without breaking eye contact, Carmilla brought my palm to her lips, catching the droplet with the tip of her reddish, bifurcated tongue.

A violent shudder rippled down my spine. It carried no pain—only a sharp, intoxicating shock of electrical current, thrilling and terrifying in equal measure, that momentarily fused my mana channels to hers.

The Progenitor closed her eyes, savoring the spiritual essence of my blood with almost religious reverence.

[Carmilla Affection: 12.0% | Initial Spiritual Bond Established]

Effect: Blood Resonance. Carmilla can track Elina's location within the cavern and will not perceive her movement as flight, provided active magical resonance is maintained.

“It tastes of cold flame and broken oaths...” Carmilla whispered, opening her eyes through a haze of suppressed longing. “Fascinating.

I will accompany you, Elina.

I will walk to the border of her domain.

But mark my words: at the first sign of that creature laying a claw upon you to claim you... I will reduce this abyss to dust, even if all three of us perish in the ruin. Understood?”

“Nobody claims me without my consent,” I replied, curling my fingers into a fist to close the cut. “Move.”

Crossing the intermediate caverns with Carmilla flanking me felt completely surreal.

She didn't force the black silk robe upon me. I strode forward completely naked, my porcelain skin glowing faintly beneath the dim minerals of the cavern ceiling, my twin tails setting the rhythm of our advance.

Carmilla glided half a pace to my side, enveloped in her dark gown, one hand resting upon the ornate hilt of a silver ceremonial dagger at her hip.

Whenever the subterranean heat drifted up the passage, her aristocratic features hardened into a mask of pure contempt.

Eventually, we reached the Great Rift—the natural boundary where the frozen, mossy stone of the vampire’s sanctum collided with the scorched black basalt and glowing magma veins of the Calamity Dragon.

And there, embedded dead center into a colossal wall of volcanic bedrock, stood a monument I had never taken the time to study in previous loops.

The Abyssal Seal.

It was a titanic circular gateway of ancient starstone, easily fifteen meters across, carved with intricate runes that pulsed with a faint, dying luminescence.

At the center of the arcane wheel lay two recessed sockets: one carved in the shape of an inverted teardrop of blood, the other an eight-pointed flame.

The twin locks of devotion.

“Look upon it,” Carmilla sneered, halting at the lip of the volcanic precipice. “Three thousand years locked tight.

Sealed by the priests of the First Realm after the Great Purge.

Those damned bastards believed we would tear each other to pieces in this pit.”

“And you nearly gave them their wish,” I replied.

I walked to the edge of the chasm overlooking Ignis’s fiery caldera. The sweltering updraft slammed into my face, whipping my silver hair into disarray.

Drawing in a deep breath thick with sulfur and ash, I synchronized my kitsune instincts with the tectonic hum beneath our feet.

I didn't wait for Ignis to wake by chance. I didn't hide, and I certainly didn't offer timid overtures.

I unleashed the full force of my Silver Spectral Fire all at once.

A roaring conflagration of silver-white flames erupted behind me, towering ten meters into the cavern air.

The frigid radiance sliced through the oppressive crimson gloom of the magma lake, the sudden thermal clash making the hanging stalactites shriek and crack.

Along with the fire, I cast my head back and let loose a piercing kitsune howl—a pure shockwave of spirit mana that drilled straight through the subterranean bedrock, slamming like an arrow into the beast’s golden hoard.

Carmilla stumbled back half a pace, eyes narrowing as her fangs flashed in alarm.

“Are you mad?! You’re going to wake her in a fury—!”

“That's the point,” I replied with a feral smirk.

The bedrock beneath us buckled violently.

It wasn't a minor tremor; it was a seismic upheaval that rattled the mountain to its roots.

Far below, the magma lake surged like an enraged beast, hurling twenty-meter geysers of liquid fire toward the blackened ceiling.

From the depths of the burning caldera, a maelstrom of blinding golden fire rocketed upward at terrifying speed, carrying a colossal presence with it.

The figure materialized onto the basalt bridge dividing the two territories.

Ignis strode out from the rolling smoke in her humanoid form.

Her curved obsidian horns flared with white-hot flames; her wild mane of golden fire fell over broad shoulders and a back armored in gleaming ruby scales.

Her thick, scaled tail struck the flagstones with a metallic crack that spiderwebbed the rock beneath her feet. In her right hand, she gripped a massive spear forged from magma-hardened iron, showering sparks with every movement.

Her golden reptilian eyes swept the platform.

They caught me first—naked, my tails blazing with silver spectral fire—before snapping toward the gothic figure draped in black silk standing at my side.

In that instant, the air turned so dense and suffocating that the oxygen seemed to evaporate entirely.

“An insolent fox presumes to summon me with will-o'-the-wisps...” Ignis’s voice slammed into my skull like a stone sledgehammer, though her glare never left Carmilla. “...and drags the crypt carrion along on a leash.”

Carmilla stepped forward, chin lifted, her lips curling into a smile laced with lethal venom.

“Watch that filthy lizard tongue, Ignis. I may just decide your head would look splendid mounted in my foyer before the night is through.”

The white-hot blade pointed straight at the vampire’s chest. “I will carve you open from throat to groin and quench my steel in your frozen blood!”

Their auras collided in midair with a deafening screech of magical static.

Boulders torn from the ground hovered in the air before being pulverized to dust by the sheer atmospheric pressure of two Rank S apex predators ready to butcher each other.

The bloodbath of Loop #7 was on the verge of repeating itself.

The same blind fury, the same millenia-old jealousy, the same inevitable collapse into ash and ruin.

Except this time, I wasn't a terrified bystander caught among the debris.

I stepped forward, planting myself dead center in the blind spot where their two auras clashed.

The crushing pressure of extreme heat and absolute zero threatened to rupture my organs, but I gritted my teeth, triggered the System’s [Hemodynamic Regulation], and flared my twin silver tails out in a wide fan between them.

“SHUT UP, BOTH OF YOU!”

The scream tore from my throat, reinforced by a concussive shockwave of spirit mana that vibrated through the sweltering heat.

Both Carmilla and Ignis froze. The shock of a newborn creature daring to raise her voice to them on their own ground was so absolute that the collision of their powers halted in midair.

Ignis narrowed her golden eyes, sparks spitting wildly from the scales of her forearms.

“Who do you think you are to bark in my presence, little vixen?”

“I’m the only reason either of you has a prayer of walking out of this pit alive,” I fired back, striding without hesitation toward the starstone wheel of the Abyssal Seal.

I halted before the colossal arcane gateway. Pressing my back against the cold stone, I stood framed directly between the two empty sockets.

I looked at the vampire in black silk to my left, then at the dragon armored in magma to my right.

“You’ve spent centuries rotting down here because neither of you has the spine to admit you need the other,” I said, delivering every syllable with glacial precision. “You hate each other because you’re identical: two legendary monsters the surface world feared so desperately that mortals had to lock you in a cage together, waiting for you to tear each other apart. And you fell right into their trap, you fools! You’re still dancing to the tune humans played for you three thousand years ago! Can't you see that?!”

Ignis’s eyes ignited with dangerous embers, but she didn't raise her spear. The mention of the mortals who had imprisoned her struck a raw, agonizing nerve in her pride.

Carmilla pressed her lips into a bitter line, crossing her arms over her gown without offering a retort.

“The seal demands the genuine devotion of its guardians,” I continued, gesturing to the twin sockets carved into the stone. “Not a coerced sacrifice.

Not a spell forced through deceit. It demands that two sovereign entities willingly offer their essence to the one who claims the key.”

“And you fancy yourself the one to claim it?” Ignis sneered, though her golden pupils traced the lines of my naked form with fierce intrigue.

“You’re gorgeous, fox. You’ve got fire in your blood and the guts to insult me to my face. But a dragon’s devotion isn't tossed to anyone with pretty speeches. Like yours.”

“Nor is a Progenitor’s devotion yielded to anyone unwilling to bleed for it,” Carmilla added, her tone dangerously cold as she took a slow step onto the bridge.

“Then test me!” I pushed off the wall, standing completely exposed between them.

“I’m not hiding behind words. If you want proof of my resolve, you’ll have it right now!”

I was ready for anything if it meant getting my revenge.

I raised my right hand. With my own porcelain claws, I carved a deep furrow across my palm.

Silver kitsune blood welled up in torrents, mingling with embers of spiritual fire that danced through the scorching air.

Without breaking eye contact, I spun around and slammed my bloody palm directly against the central rune of the Abyssal Seal.

The contact was instantaneous and cataclysmic.

BOOM!

A blinding eruption of violet and gold detonated from the heart of the starstone, rocking the cavern with the force of divine thunder.

The carved runes, dormant for three millennia, blazed to life one by one across the entire fifteen-meter wheel.

A tidal wave of primordial mana swept outward, the gale whipping Carmilla’s silk gown and fanning the flames of Ignis’s fiery mane.

The twin empty sockets began to drink in the ambient air with voracious hunger, demanding the tribute of blood and fire to complete the initial awakening.

The Abyssal Seal had stirred for the first time in three thousand years.

The cost, however, was immediate and horrific.

The starstone didn't just drink my blood; it began siphoning my spiritual mana at a terrifying velocity.

My twin silver tails faded, turning translucent as my porcelain legs buckled under the crushing drain. I collapsed to my knees on the basalt, my hand fused helplessly to the ancient stone.

“Elina...!” Carmilla’s voice cracked, taking an involuntary step forward, her crimson eyes wide with genuine horror.

“You damn fool!” Ignis roared. Lowering her spear, she took two colossal strides toward the platform, extending a clawed hand to rip me away from the stone.

They both charged simultaneously. But before either could reach me, the seal’s runes flared, erecting a barrier of blinding radiance that blasted both Rank S guardians backward across the bridge in a concussive shockwave.

Trapped inside the dome of light, my life force draining by the second, I forced my head up toward them.

Through the blinding agony, my golden eyes burned with desperate defiance.

“The two sockets!” I screamed with the ragged remnants of my breath.

“It demands a drop from both of you, or it will drain me dry! DECIDE NOW! SAVE ME, OR ROT IN THIS HOLE FOR THE REST OF ETERNITY!”

Carmilla and Ignis looked at each other—for the first time in three thousand years—without the intent to kill.

In the crimson eyes of the vampire and the molten pupils of the dragon, millenia of ingrained hatred slammed against the terror of losing the only spark that had illuminated their empty eternities.

Moving in unison, both monsters surged toward the barrier separating them from me, their claws tensing with desperate fury to shatter fate itself.

They made their choice without a second's hesitation.

The time had come to break free from this hell—or so I thought.
