Inside a moving carriage, Chen Feng sat quietly, a map spread across his hands.

The carriage was leaving Town and heading toward the distant Mount Hua Mountains.

Chen Feng stared at the map, his mind returning to what had happened earlier.Full novel: Investment system in cultivation world — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After the ghostly apparition of Suyan’s guardian spirit appear and vanished suddenly, Chen Feng stood frozen for a few seconds.

Through his *Secret Seeking Eyes*, the translucent, azure-robed figure had turned its head to look directly at him right before disappearing, its majestic and ancient voice echoing in his mind:

*"Your and Suyun’s destinies are connected to Mount Hua. Go there."*

Even with his *Secret Seeking Eyes* active, Chen Feng couldn’t trace the spirit’s departure.

Furthermore, he could only maintain the skill for thirty seconds at a time. As footsteps and distant shouts began echoing closer, signaling the arrival of town guards or other hidden enemies, Chen Feng didn’t hesitate.

He scooped up the unconscious Suyun, vaulted over the courtyard wall, and slipped away into the dark alleyways, finding a safe hiding spot until dawn.

By early morning, Chen Feng had changed into clean clothes and purchased a sturdy horse-drawn carriage.

Suyun had still not regained consciousness, so he carefully wrapped her in a dark, concealing robe to keep her hidden from prying eyes.

He hired a driver, paid for the journey toward the ** Mount Hua mountain Range**, and loaded their supplies.

Now, sitting inside the rattling carriage, Chen Feng held an old parchment map in his hands, deep in thought.

*Was this decision correct? Should I really listen to the words of a ghost?*

Chen Feng felt a heavy wave of confusion. His original plan hadn’t involved going to Mount Hua.

He just need to invest in su yun to get stronger.

Frowning, Chen Feng mentally called up his **System Status Bar**:

*[Host: Chen Feng]*

*[Age: 23]*

> *[Martial Realm: Martial Master (Cannot be upgraded further without practicing a Supreme-Grade Martial Art Technique)]*

> *[Cultivation Talent: None]*

> *[Cultivation Roots: None]*

*[Active Techniques:]*

> * *Heavenly Eagle Transformation Technique (High-Grade)*

> * *Clever Knife Technique(low Grade)*

> * *Flame Phoenix Heavenly Scripture(supreme-Grade)

He stared at the *Heavenly Eagle Transformation Technique*. It was a solid, high-grade technique, but he had already pushed it to its absolute limit.

It could only take him as far as the Martial Master realm. If he wanted to break through to higher, more terrifying realms of power, he needed a Supreme-Grade technique.

Then A faint smile touched Chen Feng’s lips.

The *Flame Phoenix Heavenly Scripture* was a true Supreme-Grade cultivation manual.

These were the rewards he had received for saving Su Yun from a life-and-death crisis.

Chen Feng had been extremely shocked when he received these rewards after they arrived at the carriage.

> *[System Notification: Host has successfully saved Suyan from a life-or-death crisis!]*

> *[Suyan’s Loyalty: 75%]*

> *[Host has received a 1000x Return Reward!]*

> * *Reward 1: 200 Silver Nuggets,20 gold Neggers*

> * *Reward 2: 2000 investment points*

> * *Reward 3: **Flame Phoenix Heavenly Scripture** (Supreme-Grade Technique)*

> * *Reward 4: **ghost capturing net** (magic treasure)*

But according to its description, it could only be successfully mastered and practiced in an environment battered by violent, fierce winds.

The practitioner had to circulate a blazing, inner fire deep within their chest while facing punishing gales, forcing themselves to endure the freezing pressure without letting their inner flame extinguish.

The longer one could withstand the howling winds while keeping the flame burning, the more terrifyingly powerful the host’s physique and inner energy would become.

Rumors said the peaks of Mount Hua were lashed by violent, gale-force winds so ferocious they could tear apart houses and crush men. No one knew the exact reason behind these unnatural gales, but they were infamous across the region.

"Is this really the righ?"

He frowned.

"Should I really trust that ghost?"

Chen Feng was confused.

Were all these things fated from the very beginning?

After all, he still had to teach Su Yun martial arts.

According to what he had heard, the winds there were incredibly violent.

Sometimes, the wind was powerful enough to send people—and even entire houses—flying.

**Flame Phoenix Heavenly Scripture**was an insane training method, but it aligned perfectly with the harsh conditions of Mount Hua.

And even though he could become stronger simply by using his Investment Points.

Su Yun was different.

If he wanted to teach her the Heavenly Eagle Transformation Technique, there probably wasn’t a better place than Mount Hua.

He could rely on his Investment Points to grow stronger, but Su Yun was just a normal human.

She would have to train.

And training her was also a form of investment.

Who knew?

Perhaps investing in Su Yun’s growth would bring him even greater rewards in the future.

Between the guardian spirit’s warning, Suyan’s hidden destiny, and the specific requirements of the Flame Phoenix Scripture, it seemed fate was forcibly dragging him toward those mountains.

*"Mmm..."*

A soft groan broke the silence inside the carriage. Chen Feng snapped out of his thoughts as Suyun slowly fluttered her eyes open, tears instantly spilling down her pale cheeks.

"Suyun! You’re awake," Chen Feng said gently. "How are you feeling?"

Suyun blinked, her vision clearing as she looked around. She nodded weakly, her voice trembling.

"Master, are we safe now?"

Chen Feng nodded.

"Yes, we’re safe now. You don’t need to worry about that anymore."

Su Yun looked around the carriage.

"Then... where are we going now?"

"We are heading toward the Mount Hua Range," Chen Feng replied.

Suyun’s eyes widened in shock. She stared at him, breathless. "Mount Hua Range...? Master, did you... did you also see my father in a dream?"

Chen Feng froze, raising an eyebrow. "Your father?"

"Yes!" Suyan choked out, wiping her tears. "In my dream just now, my father appeared. He told me that if I want to truly become powerful and take control of my destiny, I must go to Mount Hua. He said he couldn’t tell me before because I was alone, but now that I have a protector... I can finally go!"

Chen Feng stared at her in utter astonishment. *Even her dead father told her to go to Mount Hua? This coincidence is getting out of hand.*

Seeing the confusion and warmth in her master’s eyes, Suyan instinctively reached out, clutching tightly onto his sleeve. Her eyes sparkled with lingering hope and determination. "Master... when are you going to start teaching me martial arts?"

A gentle, affectionate smile crossed Chen Feng’s face. He reached out and lightly patted her head. "Once we reach the foothills of Mount Hua, your training begins."

To prove his point, Chen Feng waved his hand casually and pulled out the old map from his System Inventory.

Suyan gasped softly, watching the map materialize out of thin air. Though she already knew her master was deeply mysterious, seeing spatial storage magic still amazed her.

Chen Feng unrolled the parchment across his lap, studying the ink lines. "According to this map, it should take us about three days to travel from the town to the Mount Hua mountains. Along the way, I can teach you the basics of breathing and body conditioning."

Suyan leaned over to look at the map, her brows furrowing. She tilted her head, studying the old landmarks. "Master... this map looks at least fifty years old. Are you sure the location of Mount Hua hasn’t changed?"

Chen Feng paused, his hand halting over the parchment. He blinked, looking from the map to Suyan, and then toward the front flap of the carriage where the hired driver was sitting outside.

Frowning, Chen Feng realized something was off.

"How can a mountain range’s location be changed?, it’s a mountain afterall"

Chen Feng asked skeptically, his eyes narrowing.

Suyun shook her head earnestly. "Master, don’t you know? Fifty years ago, a Great Cataclysm shook our entire world! People say that during that chaotic era, the geography, boundaries, and even the locations of ancient sects shifted drastically. Regular maps from decades ago are completely useless!"
