"Viltrumite isn't just an empire, it's an idea, a philosophy, and belief we have relied on for centuries...it's us, the people. We are Viltrumites, we are strength itself...going forth from now on, there will be no weakness amoung us"
"There will be no doubt in one's strength, there will be no hesitation, there will be no disobedience. You will be loyal to your empire and you will cut down any parasite that slows you down in your path of strength, be it your friend, or brother"
"That is the Viltrumite way!....remember, all is ours, now go make Argall proud"
Harold stood at attention as the general left the gathering after a ceremonial speech, his companions held one fist to their chests, including him, as they waited until the General exited the room.
Upon his departure they relaxed and began socializing or simply leaving the vicinity, Harold was one of the individuals who left the vicinity and went straight to his quarters.
Right now they were inside a cruiser ship of the Viltrumite empire casually drifting in space as the ship remained stationed near an asteroid belt.
Harold entered his quarters and sat down on his slim bed, he opened the bed side terminal and made a few adjustments to the console revealing more details about his deployment.
[Name: Harold
Rank: Elite Enforcer
Mission: Help fight of the scum rebels on the planet #246]
Seeing this, he put the panel aside and rested on the bed saying, "By my estimates, 5 months from now the Emperor Argall will be assassinated and the purge will begin", as he said this, he instinctively gulped.
Although he had spent the past 250 years training ever since he reincarnated here, he still didn't feel prepared for that massacre. Harold wasn't your average viltrumite, originally he was from earth and had terminal cancer at a young age.
From then his Mother had to work multiple jobs in order to support the medical bills especially since his father passed away. His mother would sometimes ask family relatives for some money that could relief the constant struggle to keep up payments.
So one could imagine she was under constant stress from her work, and her dying Son. Harold couldn't blame her even though he struggled to live a comfortable life.
From birth till he eventually death, he had never tasted or experienced the outside world much, he would mostly be traversed around hospital grounds like a helpless baby, while people enjoyed their lives outside the shitty hospital.
He had made many friends with patient like him who came and left, they faired better medically than him, so he felt like the world was against him, but one such person seeing his sorry state at such a young age left him a comic book.
The comic of course was invincible, he read it almost everyday often binging many panels in one night, whenever life felt so cursed and unfair that he cried, he would read the comics to ease himself and submerge his mind into the comic.
As time passed he gained more comics from that same person about various other superhero but also Invincible too so he could pass time, non the less he was a big fan of this universe, he read the comics and knew the plot like the back of his hand.
But even though the comics were a valuable escape from reality, he still craved more, only for him to pass away on one sudden night. He remembered the moment vividly, as his own mother sobbed while unplugging the life support. Harold would never forget her words.
"Im sorry my son, but your too much of a burden, ive been waiting years sufferring so that you can heal, but its getting no where, so whats the point? You have to see it from my perspective!"
Those words stinged as he struggled to hold on to his life, wondering why she would do this after so long...after they held onto each other and edured the pain they never asked for. Harold shook his head saying, "It is what it is", even though he said that, it still hurt deep inside.
The fact that his illness didnt have a final say, but instead it was the person he loved that had the final decision to cut him of from this world. Now he was reborn in the invincible universe, specifically the Viltrumite empire during Argalls final moments.
Honestly it was a dream come true, being able to be Viltrumite and not the sick child he once was, is beyond exciting and exilerating. He had always imagined himself here, more like self insert in diffirent scenarios, telling himself what he would do in certain situations compared to what the characters did.
The only problem was, he was born at a deadly time during the phase of the empire, simply because he still had the purge and scourge virus to face ahead. Not that he will willing allow these things to kill him in his second chance at life, its just that they are inevitable.
But with the knowledge of the future, he is confident he will not falter to these event anytime soon. He had began training like maniac at a young age knowing what was to come, his training from both day and night gathered the attention of his peers and parents.
By 15 he was sent on various missions because he out performed his peers, this had its drawbacks, for one being that unlike his peers who stayed on Viltrumite because they were weaker. He would be facing dangers on his missions fearing for his life at every turn.
Alas this didnt stop him from fighting till his last breath, resulting in many battle wounds and scars. Although he didnt like going on missions, he welcomed the experience and increase in strength whenever hes about to die and is rescued
However, it wasnt a far of stretch to say his time here in the Viltrumite empire hasn't changed him, the constant battle and near-death experiences has done a number on his young mind. Take make matters worse, the cold betrayal of his mother left an unhealed wound inside of him, so he had reasonble trust issues.
