Battle Beast sat within his ship, one hand resting near the controls as the vessel cut through space at a steady pace. The route was already set, his destination being a distant space market where he could resupply and perhaps find something of interest. Or someone.
The silence inside the ship didn't bother him. If anything, it was welcome. His kind did not crave noise, they craved conflict, but he was craving a bloodbath, one of the few things that made him stand out.
Still, it had been too long since he had faced something worth his time. He exhaled slowly in boredom, his frustration grew with every enemy he slaughters simply because they couldn't match his prowess, even when they did, they couldnt keep up with him for too long.
Then a sudden impact shook the ship. The engines sputtered violently, sparks flying across the console as warning signals flashed red across his interface.
Battle Beast's eyes narrowed at this turn of events. Who dared attack him while he's on his way to somewhere important? Hopefully, it was someone who could back this amount of bravery, at least thats what he told himself.
"…Hm."
He rose from his seat without urgency like a calm Beast; it's almost as if he didn't care about the fact that he might get stuck here, but there was a shift in his presence. Something had struck his engines—hard enough to disrupt flight mid-trajectory.
That alone was interesting enough since he wanted to tear whoever did that in half. He stepped forward, looking out through the main viewport.
And then he saw him, a Viltrumite. Hovering just ahead of the ship, completely still, as if he had been waiting with arms folded behind. Battle Beast's expression didn't change at first due to suprise but then slowly…his lips curled upward.
"What luck...it seems I've been blessed today."
The Viltrumite said nothing back. Instead, he raised his hand and pointed toward a nearby planet as if signaling him to go there. The planet was silent, barren, and close enough to serve as a battlefield.
Battle Beast stared for a moment longer, studying this Viltrumite. Most Viltrumites that he had fought were always weak; some did put up a good fight, but not for long until their skulls were crushed by his fangs. Then he licked his lips, saying "…I see."
Without hesitation, he turned back to the controls and redirected the ship for an emergency landing. He didn't even question what the Viltrumite wanted, and he pointed at the planet; he just followed along, hoping for something worthy of his time.
And if it wasnt, then he will just eat the Viltrumite for breakfast, as that was another reason why he was heading to the market. The damaged engines roared in protest, but he forced the descent anyway, guiding the vessel straight toward the planet's surface.
He didn't bother landing properly. There was no need to as it wouldn't change anything, he could always buy a new ship, the only problem would be getting of the planet.
The ship tore through the atmosphere and slammed into the ground with violent force, a shockwave rippling outward as debris scattered in every direction. It skidded on the ground for a few meters, creating a large muddy trench because of the fuel leakage and the soil below.
Silence followed as if something bad had happened, but the wreckage shifted slightly a few seconds later, then a section of the ship burst open with enough force to send it flying. From within the broken hull, Battle Beast stepped out, completely unscathed; not even dust was visible on his white fur.
In one hand, he held his sword and in the other, his mace. His gaze locked forward, scanning the area before eventually landing on a figure levitating. Harold stood in the distance watching, he patiently waited for Battle Beast to come a bit closer.
'Seeing in person like this compared to the comics, I cant describe the feeling. But he does look maneacing, especially since I know what hes capabile of'
Harold thought as he too moved closer but stayed 5 meters away so he doesnt get caught of guard with a sudden strike. The wind howled faintly across the barren land between them.
Harold didn't move much, he didnt even prepare a stance or speak first, this was precieved as typical Viltrumite pride by Battle Beast.
"What do we have here, are you here to challenge me?" Battle Beast asked the obvious question, but deep down he knew the answer.
"I heard you have been searching the Galaxy for a worthy opponent, today is your luky day. Since you're so eager for a worthy opponent…" Harold said, his tone calm, almost casual. "…here I am." Harold spread his arms out as if welcoming something.
Battle Beast looked at Harold, for a brief moment, he said nothing, studying him throughtly, he wanted to understand what inspired this courage to personally find him, the Viltrumites were to busy subjegating planets and enforcing slave worlds, why was this Viltrumite here seeking death.
Then a low sound escaped him akin to a growl. "…A Viltrumite who wants to die at my hands," he muttered.
His grip tightened around his weapons as he raced his mace, pointing at Harold in a commanding manner, saying, "I have slain your kind before. What makes you so different?"
His tone didn't carry any arrogance; he genuinely wanted to know why Harold was confident in himself, or why he even bothered going through the trouble of fighting him.
Harold didn't respond verbally; he only thought to himself, 'Let me show you pussy cat'.
