Things were looking good so far. Harold scanned the battlefield as he removed his arm from the impaled stomach of Viltrumite, the body slumped on him, then fell after he tossed it aside.
His entire arms were covered in blood, including his chest and knees. Right now, he levitated above to get a better picture of everything, but what he saw made him tremble.
In the distance, he could see a large, bulky man that just finished killing a Viltrumite by punching his head off. The bulky man had white hair that covered the sides, while the top was bold. Seeing him, the old man revealed his crooked teeth as he licked the blood on his mouth.
Harold knew who this was and decided to turn and fly away. Although he was strong, he wasn't sure if Conquest was on the menu right now for his onslaught. Plus, he had to be closer to assess the threat level as the analysis tool didn't have an indefinite range.
He had to be close enough for it to collect data, then make a final verdict of the threat level. So it was either he stays and gets closer, or he runs and doesn't tempt fate.
The latter didn't seem to save him as Conquest followed him from close behind. He thought about turning around and fighting numerous times, but he still decided to fly in a certain direction planing to lose him or distract him.
After 20 seconds of the chase, he saw a group fighting nearby and flew there. He wanted to lure Conquest into this fight so he could hide and assess him. It worked to say the least as Conquest joined the group fight while he flew past and hid near a pillar.
Peaking around, he waited patiently till the results came in.
[Ding! Threat assessed. Threat level 4]
This conclusion made him chuckle, "So it seems my training and hard work have placed me among the elite, truly I'm deserving since I almost died 20 times."
He was relieved that he could take him on, but now wasn't the time to celebrate. Peaking around the corner all entire group was dead while Conquest smiled in his direction, "Don't hide, from what I've seen, you're the last person I expected to run".
Harold emerged from behind the pillar and walked closer; he was now only 20ft away from conquest as the stand-off held tension that required release. Harold spoke first, "How about we team up? I'm not one of the weak ones, so you don't have to go out of your way just for me."
Conquest only chuckled, saying, "Oh, I know you're not weak... It's just I'm tired of stomping on insects, I need someone who can really fight back, I need YOU!" Upon saying this, he lunged towards Harold, aiming to spear him.
His eyes widened as he braced and tightened his core while Conquest grabbed his waist and flew forward. As moments passed, they collided with dozens of buildings, each one collapsing whenever the 2 exited, with Harold being the one creating holes in each building. This continued for 3 more seconds, with Harold struggling to hurl the bulky man off him.
So instead, he took a different approach and used his fists to repeatedly punch his ribs. This gave him the opportunity he needed as his punches were severely cracking Conquest's ribcage bones, forcing him to slightly loosen his grip on Harold's waist as blood ran down his lips. Seizing the moment, he cupped both fists and brought them down on Conquest's head like a hammer.
*BOOOM*
Conquest was sent hurling down towards the solid ground at insane speeds. His face was the first to submerge into the ground, then his body as the earth caved in, a shockwave spread out, impacting the already damaged buildings, forcing them to collapse with whatever remaining support structure that faltered.
Harold didn't stop there; without giving Conquest a break, he zoomed down in a microsecond and used both his feet to stomp on Conquest further into the earth. This caused huge chunks of debris to ripple out and spread in all directions as another round of shockwaves spread out.
Harold than crounch next to the fallen titan, then began delivering punch after punch, each creating a mini shockwave. He did this repeatedly as Conquests face began to cave in, but the flesh on his knuckles was peeling off too.
He was about to throw another punch until, suddenly, a blade pierced straight through his palm. Seeing the blade, he looked at the source, but the attacker was not done yet as she yanked her hair, removing the blade from his palm forcefully.
Harold could only grit through the pain as he was about to lunge at her, but felt a tug on his leg. Looking back, it was Conquest with a bleeding face holding onto his leg with a widening smile, but this distraction was enough for Thula, she leaped foward closing the distance, and plunged her blade deep inside Harold's guts.
"AHH!" Harold screamed as Thula dragged her blade diagonally across his gut towards his lungs, the pain was enraging to say the least, so he upper cut her with all his might. But his strength had dramatically decreased because all his energy was focused on the wound. Still, it sent her flying into a distant structure a few kilometers away.
This wasn't new to him; he could fight through the pain as long as he didn't remain vulnerable for too long, so he levitated and tried to take off, "Where are you going? Things were just getting even more interesting".
