The ground gradually grew closer and closer with Donald’s heart pounding so much that you would think it would shoot out of his chest the next moment.
But the moment he was about several hundreds of feet from the pavement.
Kevin swooped in and held him by his sides.
So as not to break his bones from falling so fast, he didn’t grab him immediately, but gradually slowed down his descent.
Only after that did he grab him by his shoulders.
Kevin placed Donald down on the side of the road the moment they reached the ground.
Donald whose life had already flashed before his eyes, stood off to the side, his legs shaking while both hands were on his knees, his breathing rough.
Donald suddenly realised something.
” W-What about my Car?–” he said, worried that it would end up harming someone if it were to fall at that height.
Before he could finish, Kevin tossed a lump of metal to him.
” So how does it finally feel to have your life in someone else’s hands, not good is it.” Kevin said with a cold look on his face.
Hearing his words, Donald couldn’t help looking a bit apologetic.
” It wasn’t our intention to make you feel threatened.” Donald spoke.
” We only wanted to ask a few questions.”
Kevin merely scoffed, it wasn’t their intention yet they brought literal super weapons to his own home and cornered him off from the world just for a few questions?
Even the enhanced caliber rounds they unleashed on him was just to talk right?
” Why did you people even come after me to begin with.
I thought you already cleared everything about my background?” He asked.
” T-That…” Donald said, not sure if he should reveal what he wanted or not.
” I’m sure you might not be aware, but the Guardians are currently dead.”
“…?!!” A look of disbelief flashed on Kevin’s face.
” I take it that you’re reaction means you weren’t aware.” Donald said, letting out a helpless sigh.
‘ You’re telling me I was wrong and that viscous Old man is really no different here as well.’ Kevin secretly gritted his teeth in frustration.
” Wait…
So the reason your people came looking for me, was because you suspected I was the culprit?” Kevin said, sounding a bit angry.
These people had already verified him yet” And what so called reason would that be?!”
” It’s because Mr Grayson was also amongst the guardians during the attack.”
Hearing him say that, Kevin massaged his forehead in annoyance.
” And because of that, you thought I was the one who did this?”
” Is the GDA really that incompetent or are you people just looking for any reason to lock me up?”
” You expect me to murder the entire Guardians of the globe myself?
I thought in your own words, I was just a kid–”
[Dad, I think you’re about to get some company.] Codex suddenly said.
Kevin’s squinted his eyes, glancing around at his surroundings.
He noticed that just like back in his neighborhood, the whole area now seemed deserted.
‘ When did they?’
No one gave him an answer, before he saw several choppers approaching from the distance.
Along with a fighter jet approaching at high speed.
” You called for backup?” Kevin gave Donald a look.
” I didn’t…”
” But your boss did.” Kevin let out a sigh.
‘ Looks like Cecil just readjusted my threat level….’ Kevin shook his head softly.
‘ Might as well use them to make a statement.’ He said.
[Dad, can I help, I might be of assistance]
” Oh?
You wanna join in?” Kevin chuckled.
Donald on the other, stared with a look of bewilderment as Kevin and his ring engaged in a conversation.
[Yes!] Codex said, sounding very eager.
[You go ahead, and leave the rest to me.]
” Alright Codex, let’s do it!” Kevin said before shooting off at sonic speeds.
” Sir, I have eyes on the target” the fighter pilot said, the moment his rader locked onto Kevin.
” Initiating f–” The pilots eyes widened in disbelief when his terminal began going haywire.
Everything was suddenly going off, even his navigation and raider were on the Fritz.
Not only his, those of the chopper pilots were the same.
[Alright Dad, they should be unable to see you coming now.] Codex said.
” Thanks Codex.” Kevin smirked before his muscles tensed then.
BOOM!!!
In an instant, he surpassed flight at the speed of sound with ease.
Whether she helped or not, it really didn’t matter, but being the person he was, he didn’t mind letting her join in on the action.
Donald who was watching from the ground quivered in fear when he watched all their so called air crafts explode at the same time, before beginning to hurtle downwards.
But before they did, a flying blur could be seen flying in and out each of them.
BAM!
Kevin dropped all the GDA agents on their asses Infront of him as the air crafts crashed and exploded in the background.
The GDA agents quickly got up and formed a perimeter around Donald.
Pulling out their hand guns(Pistol weapons) and aiming it at Kevin.
‘ Cecil sure has a lot of loyal recruits.’
” Everyone stand down.” Donald said.
” But Sir.” One of the leading agents looked at him.
” Do you really think those things are enough to harm him.” Donald placed a hand on the man’s shoulder before looking at Kevin.
” It’s clear he has no intention of harming us, if he did, why wouldn’t he have left you all to die back there.”
” I’m truly sorry for all the trouble we’ve caused.”
” I don’t want your apology, after all, you’re not the one at fault.” Kevin raised a hand to stop him before slowly rising into the sky.
” Next time your boss wants to talk, tell him to meet me himself.”
” I’d rather you people didn’t disturb my home or my neighbours, you’re supposed to be the good guys, the least you could do is act like it.” Kevin said.
BOOM!
With a deafening sonic boom, his figure vanished before their eyes, none being able to trace it.
