-Midna-

We should go on a Dungeon Dive, they said. It’s going to be fun, they said—No, wait. Those were Roy and her bothering the bun-bun.

Anywho! There’s someone at fault here, and it sure as fuck isn’t her!Full novel: Is it Wrong to ”Tame” Monsters in a Dungeon? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

‘’Midna, are you sure you can’t warp us out?!’’ Shouted Roy as he barely ducked out of the way of three sharp claws. The shadowy limb merely grazed his hair before he threw three knives into the monster’s chest. The first two barely hindered it, but the third cracked something inside of it. Midna knew that magic stone was no more. ‘’We are getting a bit packed here!’’

Well, there was a fuckload of nothin’ she could do ‘bout that!

‘’You think shit’s so easy, hoomie?!’’ She shouted. Her hands pushed forward, and she felt the energy that was Mind quickly drop as two humanoid shadows that were trying to sneak up on bun-bun were rendered to paste.

Courtesy of her Shadow Manipulation and nothing else. But it sure as hell made her dizzy!

Her lone eye looked all around. These damn War Shadows were everywhere, and even jumping into the dark corners of what she called The Shadow Realm was not a guarantee of safety.

Midna couldn’t even pay attention to an exit out of here. If she suddenly Warped them, those silent bastards would jump at the chance to tear them apart, as they clogged the passageways like roaches.

‘Should have stayed in bed…’ Midna thought. Her eye narrowed as her hair morphed and caught a War Shadow mid-air. The creature looked down on her with a hateful, bright red eye. But Midna paid it no mind as her hair-turned-fist used this one as a ram to bat another one, turning them both into paste. ‘You know, relaxed, drained that stud of a load or two. Maybe tease bun-bun about the soft little moans that I could hear from her room—‘

‘’Midna!’’ The same bunny-girl shouted. Her red eyes narrowed in determination as she jumped around, using the shadows as springboards to throw herself around the room. Even with Bell’s lethal cuts and impressive speed, she was panting hard. ‘’A little help here! I lost one of my daggers!’’

Sure enough, the bun was cutting necks and kicking butts with only one sharp stick.

‘’Aye, aye, captain!’’ Midna shouted. She focused on the floor and the many magic stones in it. Locating the missing death-causing stick wasn’t hard, and in less than a blink, it was back in Bell’s off-hand. ‘’Tell me if you need to pull out~!’’

‘’As if you would let her—FUCK!’’ Roy shouted. A War Shadow had jumped from behind him, and while fast, the hooman was not quick enough to avoid taking a claw to the shoulder.

Midna didn’t let the sudden feeling of dread or the sight of blood dissuade her. With a single clap of her hands, Roy was exchanged for a magic stone at her side.

‘’You good, hoomie?’’ She asked. Her hair extended all around them, acting as a deterrent for any sudden attack. ‘’Need one of them strawberry pots?’’

The brown-haired man frowned. Moving his shoulder caused him to hiss, but he shook his head. Roy tore a part of his brown cloak and quickly tied it around his torso and shoulder.

‘’One, two… Shit.’’ He groaned as the cloth tightened, but shot her a smug grin all the same. ‘’Good as new.’’

‘’Said no one ever.’’ Midna snorted. ‘’How are we doing?’’

‘’Think I killed dozens of the fuckers…’’ Roy sighed. Even from a distance, he started helping Bell by throwing those knives of his around. One hit a shadow straight in the magic stone in its chest, causing it to turn to dust. ‘’And Bell must have killed even more. I was expecting like, a few of them. Not an entire damn nest.’’

Midna hummed. Her lone eye turned to a particular tanned woman. ‘’At least we have her around.’’

‘’Thank Hestia and her massive tits.’’ He snorted.

Because while they were hard at work, the reason for their not death was because of a smiling, uncontrollable killing machine in the form of a very sexy Amazon dressed in something that could barely be called clothes.

Not that Midna would judge; she used a cloak, and below was all natural.

‘’Hyah! Come at me! These are not nearly enough!’’ Tiona cackled. Her green eyes sparkled with excitement. Her fist connected with a shadow, turning it to mist. Another that tried sneaking up on her got grabbed by the wrist and then thrown around like a sack of potatoes. ‘’Spin, spin, spin~’’

Yes. The Amazon started spinning like a wheel of death and demise. The shadow trapped in her clutches was already halfway disintegrated by the time she stopped, and dozens of War Shadows lay at her feet. Some mangled, others dead, and many more and quickly disappearing into mist.

Finally, Tiona dropped the shadow and curb-stomped its head with her bare foot. Smiling all the way and humming to herself like a kid in a candy store.

‘’So that’s a level five…’’ Roy hummed, scratching his chin. ‘’Hot as fuck.’’

‘’Isn’t it?’’ Midna questioned with a glint in her eye. ‘’I want her to step on me.’’

‘’Freak.’’ The man spat. ‘’But same.’’

‘’Takes one to know one.’’ She rebuked. ‘’Anyway… what are we going to do about that one?’’

‘’I was about to ask you the same thing…’’

Amongst the sea of stabby shadow bastards stood one in particular. It didn’t move, not yet at least, like it was assessing whether it was worth it to join in or not. It was taller, without the signature angry glowing eye, and with a… curvy figure, for whatever reason. Is it supposed to be a female War Shadow?

Huh… Maybe that’s the reason hoomie hasn’t been able to find another one like her. Though would he really want it? If this ratio of male-to-female was this skewed, girlie probably got a train run on her…

Just as a test, one of her hairs caught a ‘distracted’ War Shadow. The orange mane transformed into a boot, and kicked the monster in the dick. Though, surprisingly, there was no reaction besides the following thrashing before Roy put a knife through the thing’s head.

So no dick-oneshot. Alright.

‘’Can you do that trick again?’’ Asked Roy with a wry grin. ‘’You know, the one with the Minotaur?’’

Recognition appeared in her lone eye, and soon enough, her smirk matched his own. With a cackle, Midna jumped onto the man’s back and looped her arms around his neck, practically nuzzling into it with a purr.

‘’What are you, a cat?’’ Roy scoffed.

‘’No, but I sure as hell can give some pussy.’’ She said.

The man snorted. His right hand came up to… pat Midna’s head. Huh. The feeling was… nice. Like, not a kinky nice, a warm nice. ‘’Strap yourself on, or your fat ass will fall, alright?’’

Rolling her lone eye, Midna made sure her arms and legs were nice and tight around him. With a deep breath, she focused on the shadows around her. Not the monsters, but every natural shadow she could get her grubby hands on.

Molding them was simpler when there wasn’t half a ton of rabid beef trying to skewer them right through, but it wasn’t easy by any means. Slowly but surely, dark, goopy shadows crawled over Roy’s shoulders, all the way down his arms, and took over his hands. In the absence of daggers, the shadows morphed into sharp, five-fingered claws, which he clenched into fists and released repeatedly. Probably to get a feel for them.

‘Armor… Armor…’ Midna thought. A shiver went down her spine. ‘This idiot will become freaking marinara sauce on the wall otherwise…!’

She had gotten enough scares for a lifetime.

Under her command, more and more shadows were pulled in. It didn’t help that the occasional War Shadow focused on her instead of the Amazon or the bunny, forcing Midna to pause so she could tear those assholes a new one.

But sure enough, ‘plates’ of shadow armor appeared around the man’s torso, back, and even his shins. The constructs were not that durable. Shadows are supposed to be moldable, so Midna had her doubts.

The armor itself was uneven; the right side of the chest felt a bit thicker than the left. The back had uneven patches of darkness covering it. Heck, the shins looked more like something called ‘’plastic garbage’’ hoomie had told her about than any real armor.

But the claws were sharp and steady, and the protective shadows clung tightly and securely to his form.

And honestly? That’s all a gal needed to feel the tiniest bit reassured.

‘’Armed and—yawn—ready, hoomie…’’ Midna shook herself awake. A few hours of monster-killing and now being forced to push herself so hard were taking a toll on her mood. ‘’…Fuck them up before I fall asleep, would ya?’’

Roy huffed in amusement. Giving a reassuring nod right after. Good.

‘’Guys? Not to be a bother, but—‘’ A single motion with her daggers made bun-bun rack another two kills. Sweat dripped from her forehead as four War Shadows replaced the deceased two. ‘’—A little bit of help over here?!’’

‘’Sorry for the wait, Captain.’’ Roy cackled like a maniac. Chocolate eyes sharpened to a point as his face stretched into a grin. ‘’Midna!’’

‘’Aye, aye…’’ Clap.

Midna heard a sigh of relief along with a thud as Bell was left in their previous position. Roy, in exchange, was now surrounded by glaring, angry shadows on all sides.

And the massacre started.

‘’Rip and tear…’’ The man whispered under his breath.

‘’Until it’s fucking done.’’ Midna finished.

At once, the deadly ‘Newbie Killers’ jumped. The one right in front of them was torn apart by deadly, sharp claws. Immediately weaving to the side, Roy grabbed an overextended shadow-limb and snapped it into two, throwing the rest of the shadow to its brethren as a distraction.

Claws morphed into fists, and a War Shadow was punched repeatedly. The sixth consecutive punch tore its head off, letting the limp body fall to the ground. Roy moved right onto the next.

Sharp claws clinked off Roy’s shadowy armor. The barely-functioning chestplate proved its usefulness in blocking otherwise maiming slashes. Of course, any failed attempt at attack was met with a swipe of Roy’s claws, and sadly for the shadow-creatures, their bodies were much less resistant than Midna’s creation.

Whichever War Shadow that got way too close for comfort, Midna personally pushed back with strands of wild orange hair. It was now more than ever that these idiots’ lack of intelligence showed. Unlike Goblins and Kobolds, which could somewhat work in a group, the shadows just threw themselves at them like wilds creatures, even pushing and maiming each other in the process. Their supposed advantages of surprise and stealth completely forgotten.

If Midna had to guess, it was probably because of the big, curvy War Shadow observing their every move. She knew that look very well… hunger. It didn’t take a genius to understand that the War Shadows moved the way they did because otherwise, they’d have to face the much scarier ‘’boss-lady’’.

‘’Shit—‘’ When a claw finally found its way through Roy’s guard, the shadow armor moved like a thick goop, protecting his stomach. The set of claws threatening to disembowel him got stuck, and Roy grinned. His shadow claws pushed into the taller monster’s head before ripping in opposite sides, turning it into nothing more than a puff of smoke. ‘’Midna, I fucking love you.’’

The rough pant in which he said that sent a pleasant shiver down the goblin’s core. Her hands caressed his neck, and she whispered into his ear. ‘’Know ya do, stud…. Now show it to me by sending these 11:59-PM-looking fucks into an early grave!’’

As War Shadows died, and their magic stones fell on the ground, small injuries piled on Roy’s body. Minor and unimportant, yes, but it showed that even this shadow armor had its limits. She couldn’t stretch it too thin, or it wouldn’t protect shit, after all.

Midna didn’t know if it was minutes or up to an hour, but with Roy stabbing and punching like a man possessed, bun-bun finally catching a breath and throwing herself into the fray, and the crazy Amazon drawing most of the aggro, things started looking better each moment.

Until she, from her place on Roy’s back, caught sight of something… unsettling.

Specifically, she wasn’t sitting on the back and watching as her minions got obliterated into dinner or cash. Midna’s sense for shadows flared, and her lone eye widened in surprise.

The shadow was in a corner, hidden away… shoving entire handfuls of War Shadow magic stones into a hole in its face that somewhat resembled a fanged mouth.

As dozens and dozens of purple stones filled its belly, Midna saw it change. Somehow, the ‘lady bits’ were even more pronounced… if only because the Shadow had gotten thinner and shorter; the same size as its brethren. If that wasn’t enough, its mouth opened wide and formed properly into a split, fanged maw, and sharp thorn-like protuberances appeared around the elbows, shoulders, and knees.

The fucking voyeur was letting us kill its brethren so it could steal her dinner and money!

‘’No you fucking don’t!’’ Pushing a hand towards it, Midna opened Roy’s shadow. All of the stones on the floor and currently in the War Shadow’s hands were suddenly stored away. ‘’Suck on it, you—ah, shit.’’

Because now, without stones to eat, the faceless War Shadow turned to them and screeched. The irritating, loud noise made Midna’s ears ring, and that was distraction enough for two things to happen at the same time.

First, the War Shadow moved. Faster than she could perceive, its clawed hand ended directly on Roy’s chest. The armor was rendered apart, but the beast didn’t sink its claws into him yet.

The second thing was a pool of shadows forming directly behind them.

‘’Male… smell… food.’’ The fucking thing could speak, and that was definitely a woman’s voice under the entire layers of edgy reverberations!

Roy’s eyes widened in panic. His clawed hands swiped fast enough to make air whistle, but just as they connected with the monster’s face, the creature did something Midna didn’t expect.

It pushed her off. Using her own shadows, even.

‘’You motherfucker—No!’’ A pair of arms caught her in midair, and, from her lone red eye, she saw the lady-shadow sink Roy into that pool of darkness, making both of them disappear. ‘’You ginormous slut, that’s my man! I will turn you into shadow noodles and eat your heart!’’

‘’Midna.’’ A voice made her look up. Her face was scrunched in rage, and her mood wasn’t much better, but Midna paused as she saw two red eyes looking at her with the same amount of vitriol she held inside her right now. ‘’Can you do what you did for Roy, but for me?’’

It was the first time that the goblin heard their Captain, bun-bun of all people, sound genuinely pissed off, and with such glaring determination in her eyes.

It was scary and kind of hot, but she didn’t have time to be horny right now! Hoomie was in danger!

‘’Aye…’’ The goblin nodded and climbed onto Bell’s back. It was, of course, much smaller than Roy’s, but Midna could make do. ‘’Ready, bun-bun?’’

‘’Hm.’’ Bell nodded.

If for Richard, she had given armor to make him bulkier, for Bun-Bun, she did the complete opposite. The shadows pooled at the Familia Captain’s legs to give her jumps more force, and the twin daggers in her hands became akin to shortswords.

Oh, and before she forgets…

‘’OI, FIGHT FOR BRAINS!’’ Midna shouted, grabbing Tiona’s attention for a second. ‘’THE BIG SHADOW TOOK ROY!’’

‘’IT DID WHAT?!’’ The Amazon’s voice echoed in the cave.

If before the War Shadows were losing? Now they were well and truly fucked.

-X-x-X-

-Roy Raynolds-

I’m fucked. So utterly, uberly fucked. I’m on my knees and God just unzipped his pants kind of fucked.

Around me, the Dungeon Walls were not only repaired, but of a different coloration altogether. Crystal-like rocks replaced the dark, stony blue, and all around me, I noticed a specific enemy that Tiona said was a floor below us.

Giant ants. Around the size of a big dog. The moment I landed on this floor, they stared at me with anger and intent to kill.

Only that they never got the chance to.

The War Shadow moved as fast as a certain bunny. Its claws ripped ants to shreds in seconds, and the outliers that survived first contact didn’t even get to spread those supposed ‘pheromones’ to try and call more of their kind.

Once dead, it quickly consumed their magic stones, and they must be the good shit, because the claw-mark I had left on the thing’s face started slowly stitching itself together.

You know, just in case I was not fucked enough.

And I was about to be even more fucked if I didn’t keep hold of these claws!

The moment Midna left my shoulders, I focused on the goop-like armor she had left me with as it disappeared into smoke. In that moment, I remembered, brief as it was, that during the Minotaur attack, I had actually managed to use one of Midna’s Skills. Not to mention that glaring, singular point I had in my Magic stat since my last update.

So, my brain stopped thinking and started working. A rocking headache struck me from every side. I looked at my fingers and how the shadows twitched and bubbled. Even dripping past my digits like they were water.

But I took hold of it.

They may not be as sharp or as big. There’s also zero chance I’ll be able to mold them into anything else—Midna made this look easy, dammit!—but I had a weapon, at least.

Speaking of.

I took a knife out of my belt and threw it at the War Shadow as it finished the last of the ants off. My eyes widened in shock as the projectile hit the dungeon wall and bounced right off. I snapped my head to the side hard enough to give me whiplash, but sure enough, the shadow had somehow moved faster than a throwing knife with its back to me.

‘’Kidnapped me and everything but ignored me the moment you had me all to yourself?’’ I asked snarkily. Ignoring the cold sweat on the back of my head as I grinned, twirling another knife on my shadowy claws. ‘’Last chick I let do that to me at least had a fat ass.’’

Though, was it me, or was the shadow looking a bit curvier…?

‘’Kill… Feed… Essence…’’

I paused. ‘’…Did you just speak?’’

‘’Male… Essence… Hungry…’’ Its ‘gaze’ turned to one of the corners of the room. ‘’…More.’’

Slowly, I followed its look, and sure enough, there were two men—humans, right in the corner. Eyes devoid of life, mouths hung open in a silent scream, while looking pale as a sheet.

‘’…They don’t teach this shit at the guild.’’ I huffed. Not like I paid much attention when Rose tried anyway. ‘’But if you want another meal, then be sure as hell ready to fight for it, you under-the-bed looking ass.’’

The War Shadow remained silent, but its tense posture with claws at the ready was more than answer enough.

Aiming in its general direction, I threw two knives at it. Expecting it to dodge again, I charged right after. This time, however, it parried the metal projectiles with its claws. An ineffective sound of metal on stone echoed in the crystal-like chamber as I pounced.

My right arm came down in a swipe that the monster met with its left arm. Sparks flew, as if I had just struck metal against rock. The tiniest of nicks appeared on the monster’s claws, but now I was left wide open for a right hook.

I pushed my hand wide, searching for the block. A hiss of pain escaped my lips as I felt something warm drip down my hand. I glanced for a second, and sure enough, its claws had pierced the shadows on my arms and made three separate cuts on my hand. Superficial, but still annoying. It certainly didn’t help that I still had an injured shoulder, secure as it may be.

‘Wait, it’s…’ My eyes widened in surprise as my own Skill resonated on the back of my head with that small exchange. ‘’I can ta—‘’

Crack!

My arms shook, and the air was forcefully removed from my lungs as my back hit the wall. ‘’Fuuuuuck…’’ I hissed. The shadows on my arms parted to reveal bruised, injured flesh.

And I didn’t have time to muse over it, as I was forced to duck under a clawed strike that tore the dungeon wall apart with ease. Now on the floor, I swiped the thing’s legs, and much to my surprise, it worked. The monster was destabilized enough for me to shoulder-check it into the ground.

Instead of pouncing—as that would be a horrible idea right now—I focused on reconstructing the armor around my arms. ‘It’s faster than that Minotaur… but it doesn’t have the strength, the raw endurance, or muscle mass. It’s fragile.’

Which meant I needed a good hit. Just one good hit where the fucker’s magic stone was to end this thing. And considering how many I had killed by now? I knew exactly where it was.

By the time my arms were covered once more, the War Shadow got to its lanky, point-like feet. Once more, its mouth split wide open, revealing sharp, deadly teeth and a black tongue.

‘’Feed… Prey… Male… Essence…’’ It demanded.

‘’Bitch, take me out to dinner first.’’ I scoffed. One more knife exited my belt, and I threw it right at it. The shadow moved out of the way, and a smile took over my face. ‘’There’s more where that came from!’’

Back against the wall, I started emptying my pockets. Knives flew across the air in its general direction. They were either deflected or dodged. But my plan wasn’t to hit it. Not like that, at least.

As my last knife flew, I saw the War Shadow raise its spiky limb to parry off the offending object. And with the biggest shit-eating grin of my life, I raised my hand, anticipating the debilitating headache.

Clap!

The War Shadow moved. Not far, mind you, but just close enough to the projectile for its swipe to go wide. With the wet squelch of meat being pierced, the War Shadow was now the proud owner of a knife to the thorax.

A hiss of pain escaped it. Something that its lesser brethren haven’t shown. But last I checked, normal monsters didn’t have tits either, so…

‘’What, don’t like the London special?’’ I mocked, ignoring the small trail of something red and warm exiting my nose. ‘’Well, too fucking bad!’’

Clap!

This time, I swapped myself into the shadow’s previous position. My head felt dizzy, and my stomach nauseous, but I still had enough in me to swipe at its back.

Clang!

The monster met my claws. Anticipating my move, it had turned around and blocked my strike head-on. I clicked my tongue and ducked, forcing its left claw-strike to go wide.

Quick as I could, I passed right below its lanky legs, swiping at the flesh where I could and causing injuries that oozed a black, tar-like liquid.

Clap!

Once more. This time, to avoid a stomp that, considering its pointy feet, would have gone right through me. The monster ‘glared’. I felt its gaze even without eyes. And with a bit more force than needed, it took out the knife currently digging through its chest.

I considered retrieving my weapons from the ground to try the same thing again, but the little shit was smart. I did see it observing us while fighting its legion of little Shit-Shadows.

Was it ethical? Fuck no, but they weren’t getting a burial anyway unless I beat the shit out of this monster right here and now.

Kawa-bunga it is.

‘’Haaaaaaa!’’ Loud as I could, I charged forward. The War Shadow followed right after, claws cocked back to strike. I just covered as much of my face as I could while going in shoulder-first. ‘’Weave!’’

Clap!

My shoulders met with its claws painfully. There was not a whole lot of armor in the upper limb, and as such, I felt hot, debilitating pain from getting my arm stabbed and cut thrice.

But the charge was a success nonetheless. The shadow, smart as it was, probably expected me to switch around again. Instead, it was thrown to the ground by a dude with way too little thinking power, a half-torn shoulder, and a bloody nose born out of fucking my minuscule reserves of Mind with a Skill that wasn’t even mine!

‘’Your claws ain’t… shit!’’ I spat. Throwing both of us to the ground. My claw-like hands tore at its torso. Tears of pain dripped down my face as I felt something claw at my back. ‘’Your shadows ain’t shit!’’

I raised my head high and headbutted it. The constant headache just got twice as bad as I felt like I had just knocked my noggin against a wall.

‘’YOUR SPEED AIN’T SHIT!’’ I shouted, arms raised high. ‘Rest in Peace, my man!’

Clap!

The claw destined for my throat met flesh. But not mine. A fountain of blood obscured the monster’s ‘vision’ as I switched myself with one of the bodies I had moved closer with my previous clap.

Sharp as its claws were, needing to get up while pushing a human body off with claw-like hands was cumbersome at the least. Instead, as it got to its feet, the monster opted to maim the deceased further by sinking its claws into it and tearing, covering itself further in dark-red blood.

However, muscle, bone, and sinew were still hard to cut right through. For those few, short seconds, the War Shadow’s claws were trapped in a fleshy prison, and I didn’t just wait on a corner.

I pushed through the pain for one more charge directed to its back. Pushing every little bit of this slug-like substance to make the end of my ‘claws’ sharper and sharper.

A wet squelch and the subsequent sound of a body sliding right into the floor echoed in the chamber.

The War Shadow turned around, its bloody claws glinting under the cave’s dim light. My stride was faster. I got into its guard too quickly for its long, lanky arms to swipe at me correctly.

‘’Roy!’’ I heard a panicked, feminine voice shout.

But I was too deep in to pull back now. Claw met shadow-flesh and pierced right through.

‘’Feed… FEED!’’ But I ignored the fact that the thing still had a mouth. Pierced through as it may be, its maw opened wide, intent on tearing me apart with its teeth.

‘’If you want this Essence, come and take it! YOU. AIN’T. SHIT!’’ I took the opportunity that I had and opened my mouth wide. ‘’MHP!’’

Shadow maw met human lips. I bit down on its tongue, causing it to screech. The paltry imitation of a kiss was instead a fight to see who ripped the other’s mouth apart the fastest.

But with my hand literally digging through its insides, and the earlier injuries it had accumulated through the fight, my Skill was ready to use.

Monster Taming reacted to the female monster as my hand clawed at her entrails. Of course, the War Shadow, being a petty, salty, daughter of a whore decided to claw at my arms and back while I sucked on her tongue to keep her from giving my neck the nastiest love-bite in the face of the earth.

The pain started to dull. I didn’t know if it was the adrenaline coursing through my veins or my body shutting down. But the War Shadow’s claws clutched me tightly. She stopped scraping away my flesh, at least.

Was… was she moving her tongue around mine?

It was a lapse of judgment. Just for a second, I stopped biting down on her tongue. The goopy and slimy appendage suddenly shoved itself into my mouth, but instead of the painful death akin to getting egged by a Xenomorph, the War Shadow just… kept going.

‘It’s… not that bad.’ I thought to myself. ‘I could do with my shoulder being a bit more attached to my arm, though.’

I was making out with a Monster. And unless I was under some heavy hallucinogens, I’m pretty sure that I saw a hint of white hair on the corner of my eyes.

Between the dizziness, blood loss, and probable brain damage I was going through—not like there was anything to damage in the first place—I didn’t notice the War Shadow morph once more.

But as my Skill finally settled down, informing me that the monster was tamed, and I pulled back, I saw the changes first-hand.

Shadows melted away, revealing pale, smooth skin. The woman in front of me was slightly taller than me. With luscious, black hair falling down all the way to her waist. Instead of being a somewhat feminine shadow, I could now see a bunch of cleavage being barely kept together by a long black dress. One thing I noticed was that the claws on my back were much smaller.

Lastly, two blank, dull black eyes stared me down. The woman’s face looked beautiful, even with a slit mouth that started on her lips, all the way to the end of her jaw.

Though, why was she staring at me so… intensively? Woman, you just sucked my face off.

‘’AAAYOOOOOOO!’’ The shout made me snap my head to the side. Right there, at the only exit of this cave, was Midna, with a shit-eating grin, pulling at the neck of her cloak and fanning her face. ‘’Here we were, worried for your life while you were getting freaky.’’

And right next to her? Both Bell and Tiona. Wide-eyed and absolutely baffled. As in, complete bluescreen and rebooting.

Panic rose to the forefront of my mind and shot me awake immediately. Right now, the pain of my sagging shoulder and bruised body did not matter.

What did matter was that both my Captain and some upper-ranking member of a big Familia had just seen me make out with a monster and turn it from a killing machine into a smoking-hot bombshell that oddly reminded me of a Kuchisake-Onna.

…How was I even supposed to explain this? ‘Oh, sorry, it’s just that my Isekai power is all about boning hot monster chicks?’

Huh, maybe—

Bell was the first to move. Her eyes were cold, and her stride was confident. Enough for me to pull away from the newly-tamed shadow and raise one hand defensively. ‘’Wait, Bell. I know shit looks fucked, but—‘’

‘’Nah, you even fucked?’’ Midna whistled. ‘’Talk about a quickshot.’’

‘’Midna, shut your mangy ass up! I didn’t… ugh! I can…‘’ Thud. ‘’…explain?’’

No bunny ire met my sore body. Instead, a pair of arms wrapped around my torso in a tight hug. Enough for me to feel it, but not enough to worsen my injured back. Bell pressed her head against my neck and just… stayed there.

…Did she just sniff me?

‘’You’re alive.’’ The girl whispered, ears flat against her skull. If I were feeling any better, I would have noticed the wet, warm tears dripping onto my collarbone. ‘’I’m so glad… I thought…’’

My face scrunched up as the feeling of something sour reached my mouth. I only hesitated for a moment before placing my good arm around Bell’s shoulders.

‘’I’m fine…’’ I sighed. One look at my shoulder made me make a face. ‘’Well, fine as I can be.’’

Another, smaller thud reached my legs. Midna looked up at me. Through her cocky expression, I saw the hint of worry in her lone eye. Wordlessly, she grabbed my injured arm and started taking a vial of red liquid out from my shadow; a healing potion.

The elephant in the room still needed to be addressed, however.

‘’You said you could explain, right?’’ Tiona spoke. Her tone was much flatter and more severe than what I’ve seen from the cheerful girl. The pointed look of her forest-green eyes sent a shiver down my spine and made me give a hasty nod. ‘’Good. Then do it.’’

Before I could open my mouth, I felt something warm and slimy on my cheek.

‘’Oh she a freak, too…’’ Midna whispered.

I blinked, turning to face the War Shadow. Her long, black tongue was out of her slitted mouth, and she kept staring at me with those dull eyes. ‘’…Essence?’’ She asked. Her tone was much more normal now, but no less flat.

I glared. ‘’Not now.’’

‘’…’’ The War Shadow merely stared for a good, long few seconds before looking down in disappointment. ‘’…No essence.’’

Why am I feeling like I kicked a puppy all of a sudden?! This bitch almost ripped my arm off! And now I had an overly-serious Amazonian staring a hole into my head!

The shadow, uncaring of my inner turmoil, licked my face again.

Really showing why you don't fuck with Roy-TheFreak-Raynolds.

Some random adventurer's body will have a closed casket just so this mf could shove his tongue down some monster's throat, let that sink in, lmfao.

Bell and Tiona be looking like angry Goku the moment Roy disappeared. You just know those War Shadows were cooked (considering how fast the three of them reached Roy when he was a floor BELOW, they may have just instantly combusted, kek.
