Raiden Ryoma was a very wealthy man.

One could even say he was absurdly wealthy.

Looking at the list of supplies in his hand, Russell felt that if his life were a novel, the rest of the story could be seen at a glance.Full novel: Is This How a Chat Group is Supposed to Work? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

With Raiden Ryoma’s sponsorship, Russell frequented various high-class clubs until one day, exhausted, he closed his eyes.

The End.

Fin.

Confetti scatters.

[Scatter your damn head!]

[Cocolia isn’t dead yet!

As long as she’s around, Raiden Ryoma is nothing!

And you’re still just a poor dog who doesn’t even qualify to be publicly shamed!]

The Tip System’s voice forcefully extended the book’s length.

A poor dog, huh.

Russell sighed.

Everything he had done up to this point was, in essence, just to shed that title.

After all, for a nobleman and a mine owner to gain the recognition of an organization like the Reunion Movement…

“miserable” didn’t even begin to cover it.

Tsk—

Russell made a sound of displeasure.

He prepared to find a place to let his soul leave his body.

However, before the astral projection, he needed to get something to eat—his body would still be running, after all.

Russell glanced around, looking for a suitable restaurant.

Perhaps it was fate, but right beside him was a cafe that looked quite nice.

A sandwich and a cup of coffee here would be perfect.

He found a secluded spot to sit and waited quietly.

Soon, a waitress naturally approached.

“Sir, what would you like to drink?” she asked in a remarkably elegant tone, with a slight London accent.

Wait a minute.

A London accent?

Russell sensed that something was slightly off.

He looked up.

In his field of vision, a beautiful woman stood beside him.

She had short, gray-gold hair and wine-red eyes.

The corners of her mouth were turned up in a slight smile, a faint hint of charm in her eyes.

[Holy crap, what kind of fucked-up luck do you have?]

Even the Tip System seemed startled by the woman.

Rita Rossweisse, one of Schicksal’s three S-rank Valkyries, who spent most of her time accompanying the strongest Valkyrie, Dudu.

Her hobby was being a maid.

Working part-time at a coffee shop was likely a source of amusement for her.

Russell’s method for completing his quest was to tattle on Cocolia to Dudu.

The most time-consuming part of that entire project was finding a certain Dull Goose in a place as large as Vienna.

And Russell had just stumbled right into Dudu’s pendant!

[You go out for a meal and run straight into the Dull Goose’s personal accessory.

Goddamn it, are you secretly a gacha whale?]

[Wait, if your luck is really this good, then three days should be more than enough time…

Doesn’t that mean Raiden Ryoma got beaten up for nothing?]

Then, the Tip System seemed to realize another serious problem.

“Ah…

let’s not mention things that are detrimental to the unity of the group members.

How was I supposed to know I’d run into the Herrscher of Seduction the moment I set foot in Vienna,” Russell communicated with the Tip System in his mind, his face expressionless.

Then, he looked at the beautiful woman beside him, his gaze flickering slightly.

“Besides…

this isn’t necessarily a good thing.”

“Excuse me, sir, what would you like to drink?” The maid, unaware of the conversation between Russell and the Tip System, smiled sweetly, though her smile held a hint of vexation.

“I’ll be quite sad if you just ignore me.”

“Can I get a beer?

The beer in Vienna is world-famous,” Russell said with a smile, meeting the maid’s gaze.

The beautiful maid blinked, looking as if she had just seen an oddball, then let out a soft chuckle.

“Sir, you should know, mentioning that madman in the German-speaking regions is against the law.”

“I seem to recall that the laws here only prohibit art students from drinking, not engineering students.” Russell blinked, fabricating a brand-new law for the region.

“I’m a law student, so it’s not a problem.”

“Law is not engineering,” the beautiful young woman replied to his completely nonsensical statement, bursting into a lovely laugh that was like shimmering light dancing on water.

“Ah, is that so?” A faint look of helplessness appeared on Russell’s face.

“My dear beautiful lady, it seems you’ve discovered that my diploma only goes up to elementary school.”

His comment made the young woman let out another chuckle.

She pointed to the inside of Russell’s jacket, which was clearly inappropriate for the current Viennese climate.

The composition tag was written in Russian.

“East Asian features, a recent trip to Russia, and you can understand German.

I think the probability of you having a low level of education is not high.” The source of this chapter is g.com.

“I’m afraid I am that one fish who slipped through the net of the nine-year compulsory education,” Russell said with a straight face.

“Congratulations, you’ve met one today.”

“I am that once-in-a-millennium, heaven-chosen, destined illiterate!”

His words made even the waiter behind the counter laugh.

“You’re very amusing.”

“How about you buy me a cup of coffee?” The maid set down her tray and sat in the seat opposite Russell.

She watched him, her wine-red eyes filled with an ambiguous affection, like a poisoned wine that made the drinker’s heart race.

“Ah, what a shame.

I only brought enough money for a beer,” Russell said seriously after a moment of thought.

“If I buy you coffee, I won’t be able to have my beer later.

How about…

you treat me to a cup instead?”

“Oh, is that so?” The maid feigned a troubled look.

Then, she quickly clapped her hands, her beautiful eyes seeming to light up.

“In that case, I’ll treat you to a cup.”

“You won’t refuse, will you?” the maid asked with a smile.

“That will depend on how well you brew your coffee, Miss,” Russell replied, as unromantic as ever.

“I do know a little something about coffee.” The beautiful woman smiled, then walked towards the back.

A short while later, she returned with a cup of coffee.

Russell looked at the cup.

Inside was a standard café au lait.

It was made by pouring a shot of espresso and a large cup of hot milk into a mug simultaneously, then topping it with two spoonfuls of frothed cream.

Paired with a croissant, it made for a simple yet wonderful breakfast or afternoon tea.

“Hey buddy, Rita is a famous beauty around these parts, you know.

You’d better drink all of it,” the rather ordinary-looking waiter at the counter teased Russell.

“Otherwise, I’ll spread the word that Rita was so nice to you and you rejected her…

When that happens, you’ll be cornered in an alley by her pursuers.”

Russell took the coffee cup.

As the coffee appeared, a new message flashed on the Tip System’s interface.

[Alright, maybe today isn’t your lucky day.

It’s a day of tragedy.]

[The moment you drink this coffee, you’ll probably wake up in some basement on a ‘date’ with Rita.]

The coffee…

was poisoned.
