“Just a friendly outing,” I muttered.
I picked up a black shirt.
Too serious.
I look like I’m going for a job interview.
I threw it on the bed.

I woke up late.

I stared at the clock.
Then screamed.

I jumped out of bed, almost tripping over my blanket.
Why didn’t I wake up earlier?
Why didn’t I set an alarm?
Why am I like this?
I ran to the wardrobe and picked the blue dress that I had chosen last night after fighting with myself for nearly an hour.
Within just thirty minutes, I was ready.
I let my hair fall loosely over my shoulders, applied a little lip gloss, and wore a simple bracelet.

perfect.
Not too much, but cute enough.
The dress said, “I didn’t try…
but I’m still pretty.”
Finally, I looked at my reflection in the mirror.
