[Song Ci’an: Sorry, I was out hunting monsters and didn’t see my private messages. I’ll trade one portion of roasted rabbit meat for two to four basic materials, either long wood or short wood. I accept two short wood in place of one long wood, and four portions of dry grass for one portion of rabbit meat. I don’t need stones at the moment. If you have hemostatic grass, I’ll trade two portions of rabbit meat for one hemostatic grass.]

[Song Ci’an: You can also compare prices with others before deciding whether to trade with me. If I don’t reply right away, it means I’m busy.]

[Song Ci’an: Oh, right. If you have any blueprints you can’t learn, I can trade other blueprints for them.]Full novel: Journal of a Wasteland Survivor — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Xia Qiu stared blankly at the three messages, once again feeling like she was playing a completely different game from everyone else. While she was still worrying about her next meal, others had already started killing monsters and leveling up.

Furthermore, did the mention of "unlearnable blueprints" mean the other party actually had some they couldn’t use? Could this survival game have a class system similar to other games, where different classes could learn different blueprints?

Meanwhile, Pioneer also replied.

[Pioneer: You have mushrooms? Then I’ll trade with you. Are pinecones ingredients? If so, I can trade for them too.]

[Xia Qiu: They’re red mushrooms. You can take a look first. You can knock pine nuts out of the pinecones, about thirty to forty nuts per cone.]

Xia Qiu clumsily placed both items in the trade window. Within this window, both parties could inspect the items offered before finalizing the transaction. The mouthwatering roasted fish with special effects was still displayed there, making Xia Qiu gulp greedily.

[Pioneer: Deal, deal, deal. How many mushrooms do you have? I’ll trade one portion of roasted fish for five mushrooms.]

Although she didn’t know if the red mushrooms were actually edible, she had only picked up ten of them all afternoon. Trading away half of her stock at once made her heart ache a little.

The other party was quite patient and answered Xia Qiu’s question earnestly.

[Pioneer: It’s not too steep. Right now, I’m not sure if your red mushrooms are the ingredients I need. I won’t know until I try, so there’s a cost of trial and error.]

[Pioneer: Besides, one portion of ingredients doesn’t always yield one portion of food. Take my roasted fish, for example: it takes 400g of fresh fish meat to make one 200g roasted fish. There’s a loss in the process.]

[Pioneer: I’ve obtained several recipes. If you have any food needs in the future, you can still trade other materials with me.]

Xia Qiu gritted her teeth and agreed.

[Xia Qiu: Alright, I’ll trade with you. What about the pinecones? Do you want them?]

Pioneer declined the pinecones, trading one roasted fish for five of Xia Qiu’s red mushrooms.

On the other hand, Xia Qiu used two pieces of flint to trade for one portion of roasted rabbit meat and one portion of drinking water from Song Ci’an. The drinking water was actually just boiled river water, but Xia Qiu hadn’t seen a river yet, nor did she have any utensils to boil water in. Since the trade required her to provide her own water container, she dug out her thermos cup and placed it into the container slot.

Looking at the thumbnail image of the thermos cup, Song Ci’an was silent for a moment before filling it with water for her.

A little while later, Song Ci’an sent another message.

[Song Ci’an: Hello, do you happen to have any more thermos cups like the one you just used to hold water? I can trade resources for them.]

Still thinking about the blueprints Song Ci’an had mentioned, Xia Qiu steeled her resolve and shamelessly replied. Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.

[Xia Qiu: I don’t have any extra thermos cups, but I do have a ceramic mug with a lid. I wanted to ask what kind of blueprints you were talking about earlier. Can you trade them to me?]

Song Ci’an didn’t reply immediately, but Xia Qiu wasn’t in a hurry. She closed the panel to focus on her immediate survival needs first. The roasted rabbit meat could only restore her Hunger Value, and since her Spirit Value was currently in a good state, she didn’t need to eat the roasted fish just yet.

[Roasted Rabbit Meat: Delicious and juicy roasted gray rabbit meat. Restores 50 points of Hunger Value immediately upon consumption.]

It wasn’t even 6:00 PM yet, and the "Gray Rabbit’s Mockery" status effect had not disappeared from Xia Qiu’s status bar. Looking at the roasted rabbit meat in her hands, which was still sizzling with oil, Xia Qiu felt very conflicted.

By the time Xia Qiu finished gnawing on the rabbit meat, Song Ci’an had replied.

[Song Ci’an: See if you can learn this blueprint first. If you can, I’ll trade it for your ceramic mug.]

Song Ci’an posted the blueprint for trade in the private chat’s trade window, and Xia Qiu clicked on it to view the details.

[Wooden Fence Blueprint (Gray)]

[Wooden Fence: Enclose your own territory. Can effectively guard against small and medium-sized animals, keeping intruders out.]

There was no warning on the blueprint indicating that she couldn’t learn it. Staring at the last half of the description, Xia Qiu pondered for a moment before accepting the trade.
