As Suguru Geto narrated their crimes, Ronawa listened.

And then, she executed them all without a single shred of hesitation.

Through this event, Ronawa fully grasped Geto’s true intentions.Full novel: Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Spirt born of humanity’s fear of death — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was glaringly obvious: he wanted to expose her to the absolute worst of humanity, making her deeply harbor hatred for them.

Once she was thoroughly disgusted, he would brainwash her into willingly participating in his grand plan.

The complete eradication of humanity.

All to create a world where cursed spirits could no longer be born.

She had to admit, the feasibility of Geto’s plan was actually quite high.

Because Ronawa truly did possess the power to wipe out all of humanity.

As the Cursed Spirit of Death, her condition for growth was simply to witness death.

The method of death didn’t matter.

Realistically, if Ronawa were a little more unhinged, she could just start a global massacre herself.

The more she killed, the stronger she would get.

Unless Satoru Gojo managed to track her down the very second she started her killing spree and violently put her down, she would eventually snowball out of control.

Once she reached a certain threshold of power, even Gojo would not be her match.

In short, as long as Ronawa willingly cooperated, Geto’s plan to exterminate humanity was entirely achievable.

But there was one crucial detail Geto hadn’t factored in: before Ronawa became a cursed spirit, she had been a human.

Because she still possessed a human soul, Geto’s brainwashing attempts would never work on her.

However, if Ronawa truly had been just a newly spawned, blank-slate Cursed Spirit of Death?

Under Geto’s meticulous guidance, she might have actually been manipulated into launching a global genocide.

Given the inherently broken nature of the Cursed Spirit of Death, unless killed immediately in her in the cradle, humanity would almost certainly be facing a permanent Game Over.

In a way, Ronawa had essentially just saved all of humanity.

She intentionally held herself back from starting an extinction event—if that didn’t count as saving the world, what did?

Having finished her shift as the Holy Maiden and executed a batch of human trash, Ronawa quickly returned to Shoko Ieiri’s apartment.

Shoko hadn’t gotten off work yet, so Ronawa had the place to herself.

Just as she was getting ready to boot up a game and relax for a bit, Gojo suddenly teleported into the room.

The moment he arrived, Gojo noticed a distinct change in her.

“You killed someone?” he asked.

It was rather ironic.

As a cursed spirit whose very origin was rooted in the concept of “death,” this was actually her first time taking a life since she was born.

She felt a bit like she was letting down her title as the Cursed Spirit of Death.

Originally, Ronawa had planned to keep it a secret.

But since Gojo had already seen right through her, she figured she might as well admit it.

“Yeah.

I killed some scumbags.”

Hearing this, Gojo’s pupils shrank.

“Some?”

Because if Ronawa ever snapped, the consequences would be apocalyptic.

He would have no choice but to kill her immediately; if he waited for her to grow any further, even he wouldn’t be able to stop her.

In that split second, Gojo’s killing intent violently spiked.

The sheer intensity of it made Ronawa’s heart pound in terror.

Forcing herself to stay calm, she quickly explained, “Yes.

Suguru Geto took me to a Time Vessel Association stronghold.

He brought out over a dozen absolute degenerates and told me to do it.

Once I verified that they were actually irredeemable scumbags, I killed them.”

Hearing this explanation, Gojo’s killing intent noticeably receded.

In truth, Satoru Gojo wasn’t exactly a soft-hearted pacifist himself.

When it came to taking out trash that deserved to die, he was just as decisive and ruthless.

But Ronawa was different.

She was a cursed spirit.

If she ever developed a taste for killing, the fallout would be catastrophic.

So, even though he accepted her explanation, Gojo still had to press her.

“You killed that many people.

How did it make you feel?”

“How did it feel?” Ronawa thought about it for a second.

“Pretty joyful, actually!”

“Joyful?”

Gojo’s heart sank like a stone.

Not good.

Not good at all.

But then Ronawa continued, “Knowing that I killed those bastards and finally allowed the victims who died because of them to rest in peace…

I just couldn’t help but smile!”

Gojo silently let out a massive breath of relief.

So that’s why she felt joyful.

For a terrifying second, he thought she had enjoyed the act of slaughtering itself.

If that were the case, things would have gotten incredibly ugly.

However, even though he approved of Ronawa’s mindset, a seed of wariness and concern inevitably took root in his heart.

It was unavoidable.

Because at the end of the day, Ronawa was a cursed spirit, not a human.

The age-old law of different species, different hearts was hard to ignore.

Internally, Gojo was already beginning to formulate ways to place restrictions on her.

If he just let her grow completely unchecked, the situation could very easily spiral out of his control.

Meanwhile, Ronawa was having similar thoughts.

While Shoko’s free meals and comfy apartment were amazing, she was the majestic Cursed Spirit of Death!

Did she really need a sugar mommy to survive?

More importantly, she was a cursed spirit.

Making friends with humans was fine, but she couldn’t stay by their side forever.

There had to be a degree of separation.

It wasn’t an issue right now.

But as her power inevitably grew, the cursed energy passively leaking from her body would eventually become a localized disaster for any sorcerer near her.

When an entity became too powerful, the surrounding environment would passively warp and adapt to suit them.

This would happen to Ronawa too.

Even if she didn’t actively do anything, her mere presence would drastically mutate her surroundings.

It would create a paradise for curses, but for ordinary humans and sorcerers…

the effects would be devastating.

Therefore, even without Gojo’s growing suspicion, Ronawa needed to find a chance to bolt.

Some birds just aren’t meant to be caged!

Her conversation with Gojo concluded quickly, and Ronawa returned to her daily routine.

When she was home, she acted like a sweet little angel around Shoko and happily mooched off her.

When she had free time, she followed Geto out, playing dress-up and putting on a mystical act as his Holy Maiden.

Honestly, she was getting better and better at playing the cult’s Saintess.

During this time, Ronawa followed Geto and witnessed many more horrific displays of “human evil.”

Even though she had mentally prepared herself, her psychological defenses were still nearly shattered.

The specific details weren’t worth describing; it was enough to say they were severely sanity-draining.

Because of this, Ronawa inevitably found herself agreeing with parts of Geto’s ideology.

Humanity really did deserve to be destroyed.

Well, partially agreeing.

Certain parts of humanity definitely deserved to die.

On another note, Gojo made time to take Ronawa out on a few more missions.

Megumi Fushiguro was dragged along for every single one of them.

Yes, it was still part of Gojo’s whole “forge a bond” scheme.

As for the results…

you could basically round them down to zero.

Neither Ronawa nor Megumi were particularly enthusiastic or outgoing people.

With both sides being naturally introverted and quiet, forging a deep “bond” was practically impossible.

It might have worked if either she or Megumi were swapped out for Itadori, his shamelessness and endless extroversion would have been perfect for breaking the ice.
