Embracing the mindset of bleeding a rich man dry, Ronawa decisively pocketed Suguru Geto’s bank card.

Shortly after, Geto left.

Leaving Ronawa alone in the room, gleefully rolling around on the bed with the card in hand.Full novel: Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Spirt born of humanity’s fear of death — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Sure enough, the power of money heals all wounds.

“You know, you’re way too easy to buy off.”

“Looks like you really are just an inherently evil little cursed spirit.

I’ll just have to…”

Satoru Gojo’s voice suddenly echoed through the room, causing Ronawa to freeze mid-roll.

She looked up and, sure enough, there was Gojo, staring at her with the corners of his mouth tipped upward in a smirk.

Crap.

What do I do now that I’ve been caught acting like a mole?!

Following a brief, intense interrogation, Ronawa aggressively corrected her attitude, swearing up and down that she would absolutely never double-cross him.

Her gaze was so incredibly resolute—as if she were swearing a blood oath to join a militant cult—that it made Gojo’s mouth twitch.

What absolute scum of the earth.

Although he was a little annoyed by Ronawa’s “you’re gonna have to pay me extra” mentality, Gojo knew she didn’t really have a choice.

Her identity was her fatal weakness.

She couldn’t afford to be exposed.

If word got out that she was the Cursed Spirit of Death, it would become her against the entire world; everyone would want to kill her.

The concept of a Cursed Spirit of Death was simply too unique, too game-breaking.

It was a cursed spirit that fundamentally shouldn’t exist.

Under those circumstances, Ronawa really didn’t have a good way to handle Geto’s coercion.

What else was she supposed to do besides agree to a partnership?

It wasn’t like she could kill him.

However, understanding her situation was one thing.

Hearing her internal monologue default to ‘you need to pay extra’ was another.

Gojo had completely lost his patience with that.

She needed a proper scolding.

He had to remind her who the boss actually was here!

After a thorough lecture, Ronawa deeply acknowledged her mistakes and offered a very sincere, self-reflective apology.

Seeing she’d had enough, Gojo finally let her off the hook.

Once the dust settled, Ronawa cautiously piped up.

“Since you were standing there watching the whole time…

why didn’t you just step in and get rid of that annoying guy?

With your strength, you should be able to do that easily, right?”

Gojo’s expression instantly stiffened.

He coughed into his fist and put on a serious face.

“Who do you think that was?

That was Suguru Geto.

The guy who used to be my equal.

Even for me, taking him down would require a serious amount of effort.”

“Besides, you were right there.

What if we started fighting and you got caught in the crossfire?”

Gojo’s reasoning sounded incredibly solid, but it was total bullshit.

Back in the day, Geto might have indeed fought him to a standstill.

But ever since Gojo mastered Cursed Technique Reversal and Hollow Technique: Purple, Geto would absolutely get one-shot if they actually threw down.

The reason Gojo didn’t kill him had absolutely nothing to do with combat power. New chapters come out on novelping.com first.

It was purely his lingering, unresolved feelings for his former best friend acting up.

Which was entirely normal, considering their past.

Knowing this full well, Ronawa still muttered under her breath, “Oh, so you’re just not capable of doing it.”

A vein throbbed on Satoru Gojo’s forehead.

What do you mean, ‘not capable’?!

You can’t just tell a man he isn’t capable!

But recalling the excuses he had literally just made up a second ago, Gojo could only pretend he didn’t hear her.

Karma really was a boomerang, and it came back fast.

Coughing again, Gojo launched into another explanation.

He talked about how Geto’s underlying plans were highly complex, how he was playing the long game to catch the bigger fish, and so on.

The TL;DR was simple: he didn’t want to attack Geto right now.

Once he finished rambling, Ronawa asked about her own situation.

“So what do I do now?

Do I actually act as a mole, or do I just cut ties with him?”

Gojo thought about it for a second.

“Keep in contact with him for now.

Let’s see what that guy is actually plotting.

While you’re at it, figure out exactly how many people are backing him.”

Geto wasn’t operating alone.

Putting everything else aside, the cult he ran was already a massive headache.

It was a sprawling organization with deep ties, even exchanging favors and benefits with cabinet ministers.

Naturally, there had to be other jujutsu sorcerers mixed in there as well.

Finding them and uprooting the whole operation—that was what Gojo wanted to do.

And that was now Ronawa’s mission.

She nodded.

Understood.

A double agent.

She’d just play both sides.

Having given his instructions, Gojo prepared to leave.

Before he walked out the door, his eyes landed on the bank card in Ronawa’s hand.

After a brief pause, he decisively snatched it away.

Ronawa’s protests were entirely futile.

His logic was flawless: Ronawa didn’t need money.

Shoko was taking care of her food, drinks, and housing anyway.

Plus, because her identity was a secret, she couldn’t casually go outside.

Giving her money was useless since she couldn’t spend it.

In that exact moment, Ronawa experienced an unprecedented, overwhelming desire for Lord Sukuna to descend from the heavens and blast this bastard Gojo with a World-Bisecting Dismantle.

Losing her massive fortune caused Ronawa’s mental state to completely collapse.

She lay there completely listless.

Utterly wilted.

When Shoko Ieiri came home and saw this scene, her heart practically broke.

She rushed over immediately.

“What’s wrong?

Are you feeling sick?”

As she spoke, she reached out, trying to rub Ronawa’s stomach and check her temperature.

Ronawa grabbed Shoko’s slightly-too-wandering hands and decisively filed a complaint.

“I’m fine.

Satoru Gojo-sensei just wanted to spar with me for a bit,” she said pitifully.

“It’s all my fault.

I’m just too weak, so I ended up getting hurt by him.

Please don’t blame him.”

To really sell the performance, she forced out two weak, raspy coughs.

Hearing this, Shoko’s eyebrows shot straight up into her hairline.

That bastard Gojo!

How dare he?!

If he dared to beat up a kid this cute and well-behaved, what wouldn’t he do?!

Someone needed to hit that man with the heavy artillery.

In her head, Shoko was already calculating exactly how she was going to settle this score with him.

The pathetic Satoru Gojo had absolutely no idea that his good days were officially over.

The next day, Gojo returned.

He was greeted only by Ronawa rolling her eyes at him.

Though, it had to be said—when your beauty stats were maxed out, you could get away with anything.

Even a massive eye-roll couldn’t ruin Ronawa’s face.

That was what you called a top-tier character model.

“Why are you here again?”

Gojo completely ignored her resentment.

“Pack up and come with me.

It’s time to test your results.”

Half an hour later.

In front of a haunted, abandoned house in Tokyo, Ronawa stared at Satoru Gojo, absolutely speechless.

“You aren’t seriously asking me to go exorcise curses, are you?”

Gojo nodded.

“Yeah.

What’s wrong with that?”

Ronawa didn’t even have the energy to complain.

She was the majestic Cursed Spirit of Death!

The future King of Curses!

And he wanted her to go exorcise cursed spirits?!

This was crossing a line!

But in the end, she went inside anyway.

Not because she was forced to bow her head to a superior power, but because…

witnessing cursed spirits die also gave her EXP.

Hehe, free real estate.

Besides, as the future King of Curses, Ronawa understood the critical importance of good PR.

The black sheep of the cursed spirit community absolutely had to be purged.

If they weren’t, then after Gojo fell, she’d have to deal with “Emperor Yuji.” And after Emperor Yuji, there might be an “Emperor Megumi,” or “Emperor Sukuna.”

History had proven time and time again that being a villain was a dead-end job.

Decisively whitewashing her reputation and initiating a holy severance from all those evil cursed spirits was the only correct path to survival!
