“You want to protect yourself… is that it?”
Masamichi Yaga pondered.
“I suppose that’s a decent enough reason.”
“As for whether it’s twisted… we’ll judge that based on your future missions.”
He stood up, his gaze piercing through his sunglasses to look directly at Tokiwa.
“You’ve passed.”
“Welcome to Jujutsu High.”
Clap, clap.
Before Tokiwa could speak, Masamichi Yaga clapped his hands.
The green kappa Cursed Corpse beside him trotted past Tokiwa and reopened the temple doors, letting sunlight illuminate the dim interior.
“The first-year teacher is just outside.”
“You are now a student Jujutsu Sorcerer. Do your best, Ryuichi.”
Tokiwa stood up, nodded respectfully to the principal, and turned to leave.
The temple doors closed, and the silent man in sunglasses sat back down, continuing to stitch the Cursed Corpse in his hands.
“Nanami Kento, how rare. I’m surprised you brought a student here yourself.” A frivolous, laid-back voice drifted in from outside the temple door.
“It was a coincidence.” Nanami was sparing with his words, seemingly not wanting to chat much with the owner of the voice.
“Don’t be so cold, Nanami Kento…”
Walking out of the temple, two figures came into Tokiwa’s view beside Nanami.
One was tall and lean, with white hair, wearing a teacher’s uniform and a blindfold.
Satoru Gojo—no introduction needed.
Beside him followed a pink-haired boy, slightly shorter than Nanami, with a somewhat naive and cute air about him.
The vessel for Sukuna, Yuji Itadori.
It was he who swallowed Sukuna’s Finger, which led to the story that followed.
“You brought a student in without having me screen them first. You’re making things difficult for me…”
Faced with Satoru Gojo’s nonsense, Nanami remained silent.
Of course, more manpower is always better.
Satoru Gojo’s remarks, acting like he’d been wronged while actually benefiting, left him speechless.
“Yo~”
Even though his back was turned to Tokiwa, Satoru Gojo seemed to have eyes in the back of his head as he turned around to greet him.
“You must be Tokiwa-kun, the one Nanami Kento recommended.”
“Yes,” Tokiwa replied.
Even through the blindfold, he could faintly feel a gaze sweeping over his body.
This is it—the Rikugan / Six Eyes that analyzes everything…
“My name is Satoru Gojo, the first-year teacher at Jujutsu High,” Satoru Gojo said with a smile.
“Nice to meet you, Sensei,” Tokiwa nodded in response.
Nanami pushed up his glasses: “This guy will be your teacher from now on.”
“Don’t let his lack of seriousness fool you; in terms of pure strength, he is undoubtedly the strongest at Jujutsu High.”
Beside them, Yuji Itadori said in surprise: “Eh? Sensei, you’re that strong?”
Satoru Gojo smiled.
He didn’t answer, instead pushing Yuji Itadori in front of Tokiwa.
“This guy is Yuji Itadori, the unlucky fellow who swallowed the Special Grade cursed object ‘Sukuna’s Finger’. He’s also your classmate.”
“Nice to meet you, I’m Ryuichi,” Tokiwa said, smiling and reaching out his hand.
“Oh, oh! I’m Yuji Itadori,” Yuji Itadori realized, shaking Tokiwa’s hand.
While sizing up Yuji Itadori, Tokiwa felt a strange sensation in his heart.
‘The Tiger Emperor who dominates eternity sixty-eight years from now is currently just a sports student with innate superhuman strength.’
‘And what Yuji Itadori doesn’t know is that the lowest point of his entire life—the next six months—is about to arrive…’
“Oh, speaking of which,” Satoru Gojo raised his index finger.
“It seems both of you are from Sendai Third High School.”
“Eh?” Yuji Itadori was surprised.
Tokiwa smiled: “I was in the third year. The reputation of the ‘Tiger of West Middle’ is something I’ve long admired.”
This was, of course, a lie.
If he had known about Yuji Itadori’s existence earlier, he would have built a relationship with him ahead of time, and there wouldn’t have been this rush today.
“Alright, I’ll take you two on a tour of the school first. Nanami Kento, you should go back and get some rest.”
Satoru Gojo said with his hands behind his head, looking laid-back.
“Then I’ll leave you here. Excuse me,” Nanami nodded and bid the three of them farewell.
Watching Nanami’s retreating figure, Tokiwa sighed: “Nanami-san is truly earnest.”
Satoru Gojo agreed: “Yeah, the Higher-Ups at Jujutsu High and the Jujutsu Sorcerers from The Big Three Families don’t really do much work. When it comes to executing missions, we have to rely on Grade 1 Sorcerers like Nanami Kento.”
“Sensei, aren’t you a Grade 1 Sorcerer?” Tokiwa asked, feigning confusion.
“Me?” Satoru Gojo’s lips curled up.
“I’m a Special Grade.”
“That amazing!” Yuji Itadori exclaimed in surprise.
Unlike ordinary Jujutsu Sorcerers, who are ranked from Grade 4 to Grade 1, a Special Grade is a powerhouse capable of overthrowing a nation single-handedly.
And Satoru Gojo, even among Special Grade Sorcerers, is considered an anomaly.
The three of them chatted and laughed as they walked past rows of torii gates in the woods, soon arriving at the Jujutsu High dormitories.
Compared to the temple at the main gate, the dormitories had less of a religious atmosphere; from the outside, they just looked like traditional Japanese-style buildings with a rustic feel.
“Oh! This is so spacious!”
Looking at the well-equipped 20-square-meter single dorm room before him, Yuji Itadori said excitedly.
“This will be your room from now on.”
After saying that, Satoru Gojo added: “The second-year seniors are still away on business and won’t be back for a few days.”
“And there’s a fourth first-year student who will arrive in Tokyo tomorrow.”
Yuji Itadori replied while sticking a poster of a hot female celebrity on the wall: “Eh? It feels like things are finally getting lively.”
“Yeah,” Satoru Gojo also smiled.
“Jujutsu High hasn’t been this lively in a long time.”
“Alright,” Satoru Gojo turned around.
“You two should unpack your luggage and relax for the day. School officially starts tomorrow.”
“Understood.” Before Satoru Gojo could finish, Yuji Itadori had already flopped onto the bed.
Tokiwa walked out of the dorm and followed behind Satoru Gojo.
“Sensei.”
“Are there any textbooks or notes at Jujutsu High that explain concepts related to Cursed Energy? I’d like to study ahead.”
Although he understood most of the mechanics of the Jujutsu world and had activated his Cursed Energy through the Flame Sorcerer System.
But when it came to controlling Cursed Energy, Tokiwa was probably only slightly better than Yuji Itadori was at this moment.
“Huh?”
Satoru Gojo turned his head, wearing a strange expression.
“Although Jujutsu Sorcerers are all oddballs—battle maniacs, gloomy types, shut-ins, and those with split personalities are all common enough.”
“But a guy like you who wants to study as soon as you enter Jujutsu High… I’ve only ever…”
As Satoru Gojo spoke, he seemed to suddenly recall something, and his voice trailed off.
“Oh, I remember now. I borrowed someone else’s notes when I was a student.”
“Wait here for a moment, I’ll go to the teacher’s dorm and get them for you.”
Tokiwa returned to his dorm to put away his luggage, and when he came back out, he found Satoru Gojo already waiting at the door, holding a yellowed notebook.
“Here.”
Tokiwa took it; on the cover were several neat characters.
“Regarding Cursed Energy and Cursed Spirits.”
Based on Satoru Gojo’s reaction and his own crooked handwriting, the owner of the notes could not be Satoru Gojo himself.
Nanami?
Shoko?
Or maybe Yu Haibara…
Tokiwa flipped to the title page.
Okay, it was Suguru Geto.
Tokiwa put the notebook away.
“Sensei, actually, there’s one more thing.” Tokiwa looked up at Satoru Gojo.
Satoru Gojo collected himself: “What is it?”
“It’s about my Cursed Technique.”
Tokiwa raised his hand, and flames soared upward.
