Jujutsu High infirmary.

The fluorescent light overhead gave off a pale glow, illuminating the infirmary filled with a strange medicinal smell.

Satoru Gojo sat restlessly in a chair with one leg crossed over the other.Full novel: Jujutsu Kaisen: Starting with the Flame-Flame Fruit — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Congratulations.

You’re now the second student in the first-year class.”

“The first student is that sea-urchin-haired kid who was following me earlier, Megumi Fushiguro.”

Jin sat cross-legged on a metal bed nearby, both arms hanging limply at his sides.

“Only two students in an entire year?

What kind of third-rate school is this?

No wonder you’re recruiting people off the street.”

Hearing Jin’s complaint, even Gojo found himself unable to argue.

“Haha.

Don’t say that.

The number of students will gradually increase later.”

Hiss.

The sound of machinery operating rang out as the infirmary’s heavy metal door automatically opened.

Shoko Ieiri walked inside wearing a white lab coat.

Dark circles hung heavily beneath her brown eyes, making her look as if she could die from overwork at any moment.

Her long brown hair hung loose behind her and swayed slightly as she walked.

Seeing Shoko arrive, Gojo raised a hand in greeting.

“Shoko!”

Shoko kept one hand in the pocket of her lab coat.

She glanced at Gojo and spoke helplessly.

“Could you please stop casually increasing my workload?”

“I finally had some free time.

I was planning to go have a drink.”

Complaints were complaints, but Shoko still picked up a pair of medical gloves and put them on, ready to perform her duties as a doctor.

After carefully inspecting Jin’s injuries, she glanced sideways at Gojo.

“You did this, didn’t you?

Complete fracture of the left arm, fracture in the right arm.

You really brought me a big job.”

Gojo nodded.

“Yes!”

Facing Shoko’s resentful gaze, he casually waved a hand.

“Getting injured in a fight is totally normal, right?

Don’t look at me like that.”

Shoko opened the medical kit beside her and took out splints, gauze, and disinfectant supplies.

“You’re reckless.

Isn’t this a little too harsh for a new student?”

Jin watched what she was doing and asked in confusion.

“You’re not healing me directly?”

Reverse Cursed Technique could directly heal injuries.

With Reverse Cursed Technique available, disinfectant, splints, gauze, and everything else seemed unnecessary.

Without even raising her head, Shoko arranged the materials she needed.

“This isn’t an anime.

Treatment isn’t as simple as you think.”

She patted the edge of the metal bed.

“Lie down.”

Jin hesitated briefly before lying flat on the cold metal bed.

“Injuries like broken bones can’t simply be repaired directly with Reverse Cursed Technique.

If the bone heals crooked, it can affect function afterward.”

Using Reverse Cursed Technique on yourself and using it to heal someone else weren’t remotely the same level of difficulty.

When a sorcerer used Reverse Cursed Technique on their own injuries, there were far fewer concerns.

After all, nobody understood their own body better than themselves.

Gojo stood up from his chair, moved beside the bed, and leaned slightly over Shoko while she worked.

Then he suddenly spoke.

“This guy isn’t an ordinary new student.

Aren’t you curious where my blindfold and uniform went?”

Shoko raised her head and glanced at him.

Gojo’s brilliant blue eyes were completely exposed beneath the fluorescent lights.

That familiar face was fully visible, and compared to several years ago, it hadn’t changed in the slightest.

She withdrew her gaze and turned toward Jin instead, her tone still calm.

“You did that?”

Lying on the bed, Jin’s lips curved slightly, a trace of smugness in his golden eyes.

“Of course.”

“Oh.”

Shoko nodded without the slightest change in expression, as if she’d just heard someone say that the weather was nice today.

She raised both hands and firmly grabbed Jin’s broken arm.

“This is going to hurt a little.

Bear with it.”

Click.

The crisp sound of bone being reset exploded through the quiet infirmary.

“Ugh!”

Jin let out a muffled groan, his pupils widening sharply.

His body instinctively arched upward, only for Gojo to casually press him back down with one hand.

Being injured in battle and being injured during everyday life were completely different experiences.

At least during a fight, adrenaline helped dull the pain.

Outside a fight, the pain hit you completely and honestly.

Gojo grimaced just watching it, sucking in a cold breath as he subconsciously rubbed his own arm.

“Tch, tch, tch…

That hurts just to look at.”

Shoko ignored him and quickly fixed Jin’s left arm in place with a splint after resetting it.

She then inspected the fracture in his right arm and wrapped the injured area with an elastic bandage.

The long and torturous preparation finally ended.

Covered in sweat, Jin exhaled in relief.

“Haa…”

Gojo stood nearby with his arms crossed, leaning against the wall.

Seeing Jin’s expression, he secretly laughed to himself.

‘At the end of the day, he’s still just a kid…’

Shoko straightened up and stretched her slightly aching shoulders.

“Don’t move.

I’m starting the treatment.”

With that, she raised her hand toward Jin’s arms.

White energy spread outward and quickly enveloped both injured limbs.

A warm sensation came from his arms as the constant pain rapidly faded.

Jin watched the process with obvious curiosity.

Gojo had nothing else to do, so he began explaining.

“The energy inside your body is called cursed energy.

It’s extracted from negative emotions.”

“Cursed energy can be used for attack or defense, but it can’t heal injuries.”

“What Shoko is using is Reverse Cursed Technique.

She reverses cursed energy—in other words, negative energy—into positive energy.”

“That creates a healing effect.

And by the way, theoretically, anyone can learn this technique.”

Jin raised an eyebrow and moved his gaze from his arms to Gojo’s face.

“Theoretically?

So in reality it’s extremely difficult?”

Gojo snapped his fingers.

“Bingo!

Correct.”

He raised one finger like a teacher lecturing in class.

“Most of the time, Reverse Cursed Technique can only affect the user themselves.”

“In fact, there are currently only two people who can output it and use it to heal other people.”

“One is Shoko-san standing in front of you.

The other is your second-year upperclassman.”

Jin already knew most of this.

That so-called second-year upperclassman was none other than the God of Pure Love—Yuta Okkotsu.

He looked up at the fluorescent light on the ceiling and sighed in admiration.

“Convenient ability.”

A few minutes later, the treatment ended.

Jin sat up and flexed his fingers, his joints cracking softly.

The broken bones had quietly healed.

He looked down at his gradually recovered arms, then raised his golden eyes toward Shoko.

“Thanks.”
