“Uh…”
The girl who’d handed over the love letter rolled her eyes back, toppled straight backward, foamed at the mouth, and passed out cold on the spot.
The first domino.
THUD.
THUD.
THUD.
Girls with weaker nerves fainted onto their desks one after another.
Even the music teacher who’d been trying to sneak photos dropped her phone with a clatter, slid down the blackboard, and slumped against it with the light completely gone from her eyes.
Riko clapped both hands over her face and let out a shriek that could’ve come from a slaughterhouse.
“Kill me!
Just kill me now!
I don’t know him!
Let me die!”
She’d thought getting scooped off the street yesterday was bad enough.
She had no idea this man’s capacity for humiliation was a bottomless pit.
Toji didn’t spare a glance for the carnage around him.
He strode up to Riko and slung her over his solid shoulder like a sack of rice.
“A very spirited scream!
Youth’s regrets — fully settled.
Now then.” He patted her on the back.
“It’s time to move out, young maiden!”
He carried Riko, who was fighting him with everything she had, and marched out of the classroom at full stride, leaving behind a floor full of fainted girls and the shattered remains of their maiden hearts.
…
Out in the hallway.
Satoru Gojo had just used Teleportation to deal with the clones outside and come barreling into the school building.
He ran right into Toji hauling Riko out of the music room and got a full view of the classroom behind them.
Bodies strewn in every direction, like the aftermath of a biochemical attack.
Satoru Gojo stopped for exactly one second.
Then he braced himself against the wall and laughed until his knees buckled, tears streaming down his face.
“BWAHAHAHA!
Suguru!
Get over here!” Satoru Gojo pounded the floor.
“This guy’s technique is definitely a special-grade wide-range psychic assault!
Absolutely devastating!
That’s domain-level damage right there!”
Suguru Geto came flying in through the window, riding a Cursed Spirit.
He’d been mildly irritated from mopping up all those annoying clones.
But when he looked into the music classroom, then looked at the green-spandex-wearing, aggressively cheerful muscle man in the hallway, a violent cramp seized his stomach.
He pressed a hand to his abdomen.
His face went white.
“Satoru.” Suguru Geto spoke through his teeth.
“My sanity right now is more fragile than the Time Vessel Association’s faith.
I’m seriously starting to wonder whether either of us will still have functional mental states by the time this mission is over.”
“Bwahaha, isn’t this hilarious?” Satoru Gojo howled with laughter and pointed his phone at the classroom to record it.
Toji jogged over to the two of them with Riko still on his shoulder and stuck out a thumbs-up.
“Not bad, you two brats!
All the trash outside cleaned up?
Good.
We’ll celebrate with a ten-thousand-meter weighted run right now!” New chapters come out on g.com first.
Before Satoru Gojo could open his mouth.
From the far end of the hallway, heavy footsteps echoed.
Slow.
Deliberate.
A massive wave of Cursed Energy rolled in, far beyond anything those clones had been putting out.
A man in a white suit and gold-rimmed glasses stepped through the shattered glass and walked out into the light.
The leader of the Time Vessel Association.
Byer.
He looked at the three of them.
His gaze settled on Satoru Gojo last, and the corner of his mouth pulled into a cold, cruel smile.
“We finally meet.
The Strongest.” Byer adjusted his glasses.
“Hand over the Star Plasma Vessel.
I might consider leaving your bodies in one piece.”
Satoru Gojo stopped laughing.
He stood up slowly.
Those azure Six Eyes locked onto the man at the end of the hall, and the curve of his lips turned razor-sharp.
“Suguru.
Muscle idiot.” Satoru Gojo rolled his neck.
His joints cracked, clean and crisp.
“Neither of you touch him.
I’m in a very complicated mood right now, and I need a punching bag.”
The second Byer finished speaking, Satoru Gojo raised one hand.
Didn’t even take off his sunglasses.
BOOM!
Byer’s prized reinforced Cursed Energy tore like wet paper.
His entire body punched straight into the wall at the far end of the hallway and stuck there.
“Seriously?
That’s it?” Satoru Gojo clicked his tongue.
He hadn’t even warmed up.
Then Suguru Geto’s phone rang.
He answered.
The color that had already drained from his face, courtesy of the green spandex, shifted from white to iron-gray.
“What is it, Suguru?
More Time Vessel Association rats coming to die?” Satoru Gojo leaned in.
Suguru Geto hung up.
His voice came out cold enough to frost glass.
“Ms.
Kuroi has been kidnapped.
They want us in Okinawa for a hostage exchange.”
Riko, still fighting to get off Toji’s shoulder, went rigid.
“Kuroi…
was captured?”
The tears came all at once.
She tore herself free of Toji and dropped to the floor, both hands pressed hard over her face.
“It’s all because of me.
If it weren’t for protecting me, Kuroi never would’ve been dragged into this.
I’m someone who was supposed to die anyway — why am I dragging her down too!”
That was it.
The girl had completely fallen apart.
Suguru Geto sighed and started to step forward, maybe say something, but Satoru Gojo was already cracking his knuckles, loud and deliberate.
“Okinawa.
We blast those idiots and their entire base into dust.”
Suguru Geto nodded.
“My thoughts exactly.”
The two of them radiated murder.
They were half a second from turning this into the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerers’ bloodbath on record.
BAM!
A massive green palm slammed down one centimeter above Satoru Gojo’s shoulder, close enough that the strongest nearly had his Limitless knocked loose.
“White-haired brat.
Lose the villain face.”
Toji had somehow crossed the hallway and was crouching in front of Riko.
Nobody had seen him move.
His green spandex, stretched to the absolute limit of the fabric’s tolerance, caught the hallway light at a deeply unsettling angle.
Satoru Gojo slapped at his own shoulder in disgust.
“What is your problem?
Don’t touch me with those hands.
I can smell the cheap protein powder from here.”
Toji didn’t answer him.
He looked at Riko shaking as she cried, and what surfaced in his mind without warning was another image entirely.
Megumi Fushiguro, from his past life, curled up in the corner of a run-down apartment.
Eyes with no light left in them.
Despair.
That disgusting thing had no place on the canvas of youth.
None.
“Teni maiden!” Toji’s voice cracked like a thunderclap through the hallway, rattling every window in the corridor.
Riko hiccuped from the shock and looked up, face wet, eyes blurry.
“A rescue?” Toji straightened up.
Hands on his hips.
Head thrown back.
“No!
That’s far too boring!” His laugh bounced off every wall.
“Listen up!
This isn’t just a rescue mission!
This is your youth graduation trip — farewell to the past, and welcome to the rest of your life!”
Riko stared at him blankly.
Suguru Geto’s stomach started cramping again.
Satoru Gojo’s Six Eyes flickered at full intensity, working hard to locate the logic in what he’d just heard.
“…Huh?
We’re going to save someone’s life and you’re calling it a graduation trip?
Did the muscle where your brain used to be finally squeeze your brain stem flat?”
“Single-celled organism!” Toji jabbed a finger at him.
“No romance whatsoever!
We are going to carve joy and sweat into this young maiden’s memory in the most passionate way possible.
That is what a real man does!”
He reached down, scooped Riko up in one motion, and dropped her back onto his shoulder.
Ignored every bit of her struggling.
“Target: Okinawa!
Full speed ahead!
Anyone who falls behind does ten thousand burpees!”
