The four ministers came down the steps with fake smiles, trying to invite Karna inside the palace.

He did not even look at them.

He simply dismounted his horse and walked right past them into the grand hall.Full novel: karna: undefeated warrior — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The ministers had to hurry behind him, surprised by his cold behavior.

Inside the palace, the grand hall was spectacular.

At the very end of the room sat the golden throne of Anga, beautifully lit by hundreds of oil lamps.

It was a magnificent sight.

Karna walked up the stone steps and sat down on the golden throne for the very first time.

For two long seconds, he just looked out at the massive hall from his new seat.

A heavy weight settled deep on his chest.

In that quiet moment, he realized the ultimate truth: the lives, the future, and the well-being of every single person in Anga were now tied directly to him.

Prime Minister Mahasrin stepped forward, bowing low.

“Welcome to your throne, Your Majesty.

We have prepared the state ledgers.

You must be tired from traveling.

When you need to see the ledger, you can just ask me.

There are also many projects that require your approval, which we will mention to you tomorrow.”

Treasurer Vradha nodded quickly, wiping sweat from his neck.

“Yes, sire.

We just need your royal stamp to approve these projects.”

Karna looked down at them from the throne.

he let out a short, cold laugh that echoed loudly through the grand hall.

”You think you are very clever, Mahasrin,” Karna said, his voice quiet but terrifying.

“You think you can fool me with your words, while you sell my kingdom to Magadha.”

The four ministers froze.

The color instantly drained from Mahasrin’s face.

Before Commander Viraj could even think of pulling his sword, Karna raised his hand and snapped his fingers.

CLANG!

CLANG!

CLANG!

The heavy doors of the throne room burst open.

From every entrance, balcony, and hallway, thousands of elite cavalry soldiers from Jayavarman’s hidden force poured into the hall.

In less than a minute, the five thousand soldiers from the gate completely locked down the palace.

The corrupt ministers were trapped in a massive wall of iron spears.

Karna reached into his armor, pulled out the sealed tube, and tossed it.

”Your messenger to Magadha was caught on the western road,” Karna said flatly.

“And Viraj the soldiers who once supported you are currently sleeping on the ground outside the camp.”

Viraj gasped, his eyes wide with horror.

His entire power base was gone in an instant.

”Satyajit,” Karna commanded, his voice echoing with absolute authority.

“Do not waste time with a trial.

These men are traitors to the soil of Anga.

Take them to the courtyard and execute them immediately.

Let their blood wash away the rot of this palace.”

”No!

You cannot do this!” Mahasrin screamed as Kuru veterans grabbed him by his robes.

Vradha began to cry, loudly begging for his life, while Viraj fought back fruitlessly against the heavy grip of the guards.

A few moments later, the heavy thuds of the executioner’s blades cut through the morning air outside.

The four parasites of Anga were dead.

A short while later, Jayavarman walked into the throne room.

He was accompanied by a middle-aged man dressed in simple, clean clothes.

The man had sharp, intelligent eyes and carried himself with quiet humility.

”Your Majesty,” Jayavarman said, bowing low.

“The capital is completely secure.

Our men have already taken over the households of the four dead ministers.

The wealth we found inside their vaults is unbelievable, it is equal to many years of Anga’s total income.

It is filled with stolen gold, gems, and massive piles of tax grain.

We are still searching for their hidden vaults.

We have already arrested their family members, so finding the rest of the hidden gold will just take some time.”

Karna nodded in approval.

“Good.

All of their corrupt money and property belongs to the kingdom now.

Take the gold straight to the royal treasury.

As for the grains, store more than half of it for emergencies.

Take the other half to the army barracks.

If you think there is still too much grain left over, reallocate the rest to the poor residents in the outer city.”

Jayavarman smiled brightly.

“It shall be done, sire.

Also, as you requested, we need a new minister to run the state. Follow the newest chapters on g.com.

This is my friend, Vidhyadhar.

He is a highly knowledgeable man—a scholar of law, economics, and administration.

The old ministers kept him hidden because he completely refused to take bribes.”

Vidhyadhar stepped forward and knelt deeply before the golden throne.

“Your Majesty, I have studied the true geography and hidden resources of Anga for years.

If you grant me the authority, I will fix our trade routes and bring true wealth to the people.”

Karna looked down at him and felt his deep honesty.

“Rise, Vidhyadhar.

From this moment, you are the temporary Prime Minister of Anga.Whether you become permanent was in your actions.i hope you understand your responsibilities well”

”Thank you, my King, i will prove my worth with my action ” Vidhyadhar said, standing tall.

He pulled out a scroll.

“To help me run the state, I have brought a list of honest, skilled people from Anga who love this land but were ignored by the old council.

With your permission, we can form a new cabinet.”

Karna took the scroll and looked into the names’Kalyan an honest local merchant who will manage the state gold fairly.

Recommended for Chief Treasurer.’

’Samudra was aveteran port officer who knows how to handle the river guilds and ferrymen.

Recommended for Minister of Trade & Shipping.’

’Bhumitra was a scholar from a farming background who made a vow to help poor laborers.

Recommended for Minister of Agriculture.’

Karna looked over the list carefully, but he did not approve them immediately.

”Vidhyadhar, tell them to meet me tomorrow morning,” Karna said calmly.

“After I speak with them personally, we can decide whether to appoint them.

Also, I am promoting Adhirupa, the Chariot Commander, to Supreme Military Advisor.

Inform him tomorrow so he can prepare for his new duties.”

”As you command, Your Majesty,” Vidhyadhar replied, bowing respectfully.

Karna then informed the palace guards to prepare his food.

With the immediate danger cleared, he walked out of the palace and moved toward the quiet banks of the nearby river.

It was time to complete his morning puja to his birth father, Surya Dev, the sun god.

Standing in the flowing river water, he offered his prayers as the sun fully rose into the sky.

The bright morning light reflected off his golden armor.

The heavy rot of the past was gone.

The true reign of King Karna had officially begun today
