All of Xie Youci’s senses amplified in that instant.

The warmth and softness against his ear, along with the scorching breath that brushed against the side of his face, pierced into his soul like needles, overwhelming and occupying his entire mind.

A sharp scraping sound suddenly rang out.

Before Xie Youci could finish his words, Chi Yang boldly pushed against his shoulder.

Caught off guard, he stumbled backward, still holding Chi Yang, and they both tumbled into the large circular sofa behind them.

The sofa bore the brunt of the impact.

It slid in the direction of the force, its metal legs scraping against the floor with an ear-piercing screech.

And then—

Chi Yang’s lips brushed against Xie Youci’s cheek and landed on his raised chin.

The veins on Xie Youci’s arms bulged.

In that moment, his knuckles turned white as he gripped Chi Yang’s waist tightly. His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down, and both of his ears visibly flushed red.

Holy shit…

Holy shit.

Holy shit!

Xie Youci’s mind went completely blank.

The moment their soft lips met, his rationality and consciousness were nearly burned away. The air grew so quiet that he could hear their entangled breaths and the violent pounding of his own heart in his chest.

But Chi Yang’s kiss trailed upward.

Xie Youci felt a tingling numbness from the friction. He turned his head to avoid the kiss that nearly landed on his lips. “Chi Yang.”

He called her name in a low, hoarse voice.

His hands, still tense with bulging veins, gripped her slender waist and clenched her wrist. “Calm down.”

“I’m Xie Youci!”

Xie Youci believed he was offering a well-intentioned reminder.

After all, they had grown up fighting each other, and in his view, Chi Yang could never harbor any ill intentions toward him.

But the drunken Chi Yang was utterly reckless.

She didn’t care whether the person in front of her was Xie Youci, her lifelong rival. She even tugged at his belt, pulled out the hem of his shirt, and placed her palm on his abdominal muscles.

Xie Youci: “…”

His waist, abdomen, and spine tensed up.

His Adam’s apple bobbed frantically.

Finally, as if utterly defeated, he fell back into the sofa with a look of resignation, much like that night when she had teased him to the brink of losing control.

This time, Xie Youci was equally powerless to resist.

He even felt a bit…

Restless.

Xie Youci closed his eyes, lifted his chin, and while being kissed by Chi Yang until his spine tingled, he teetered on the edge of surrender even as he tried to evade her.

Then—

He suddenly felt a sharp pain on his chin.

“…”

Great, the little dog had bitten him again.

And then—

The little dog fell silent.

Xie Youci looked down at her with a complicated expression, his ears still flushed from the kiss. “Chi Yang?”

He tried calling her.

But Chi Yang lay motionless on his chest, her hand still inside his shirt, resting on his abdominal muscles.

Xie Youci frowned slightly.

He reached out and lifted Chi Yang’s chin, only to see the flush of drunkenness on the corners of her eyes and cheeks. The little dog who had been assaulting him just moments ago was now fast asleep.

Xie Youci: “…”

He gazed at Chi Yang with a dark expression.

What did she mean by this?

She kissed me?

She actually kissed me again.

Could she… like me?

Xie Youci’s emotions grew increasingly complicated. He reached out and patted her cheek lightly. “Wake up. What did you mean by kissing me? Explain yourself, Chi Er’er!”

He gritted his teeth as he called her by her childhood nickname.Chi Yang slapped the back of his hand, mumbling drunkenly, “Stop messing around… I’m going to sleep! Keep it up and I’ll draw Peppa Pig on your abdominal muscles!”

Xie Youci: “…………”

He had every reason to believe Chi Yang was capable of such a thing and immediately fell silent, saying nothing more.

Then, like a pure-hearted fool who had been violated and then abandoned again, he finally slid his arm under her knees and stood up, carrying the drunkard.

Tsk…

Boys really should protect themselves when they’re out.

Now look.

Not only did he fail to protect himself.

He even had to take this female hooligan home.

Unbelievable.

…

The next day, Xizi Bay.

The sun, edged with gold, pierced through the clouds, casting beautiful, shimmering light on the double happiness character adorning the wedding suite’s window.

Chi Yang woke up from hunger.

When she opened her eyes, stung by the sunlight, her head throbbed painfully. The hangover felt like a fizzing tablet tossed into water, about to explode while sizzling with a sharp, drilling ache.

Chi Yang pushed herself up from the bed.

Rubbing her throbbing temples, she slowly lifted her eyelids to survey her surroundings, only to realize she had slept in a man’s bedroom last night.

The decor was in black, white, and gray.

Simple and elegant, yet exuding an air of arrogance and boldness.

Upon closer inspection, it looked somewhat familiar.

“…”

Chi Yang’s mind lagged for a moment.

Then, as if finally realizing something, she sat up abruptly, clutching the blanket tightly as if startled.

Xizi Bay!

This was her and Xie Youci’s wedding suite!

How did she end up here?

Chi Yang’s pupils contracted slightly. Just as she tried to recall what happened after she got drunk last night, before her brain could even start working, a carefree voice drifted lazily—

“Awake?”

Chi Yang looked up reflexively and, sure enough, saw that relaxed and languid figure.

Xie Youci wore a dark, coolly seductive robe, his entire body seeming boneless as he leaned casually against the bedroom doorway with a lazy, indifferent air.

Seeing him.

Chi Yang’s expression visibly turned disdainful. She gave him a sidelong glance. “Xie the dog? What are you doing here too?”

A soft scoff suddenly sounded.

Xie Youci held a cup of coffee, leisurely raising it to take a small sip before tilting his head with feigned arrogance to look at her. “You don’t know why I’m here?”

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say—

Last night was a genuine adventure for Youci.

Xie Youci, who had never been in a relationship but was always arrogant and domineering, was first pushed onto the sofa by Chi Yang, kissed fiercely, and utterly defenseless.

Just as the bite mark on his collarbone had faded, she left a fresh set of teeth marks on his chin.

Later on.

Chi Yang fell asleep while kissing him.

Xie Youci had no choice but to swallow his pride and carry her home. But as soon as they arrived, she woke up and started causing trouble again, insisting on going to his room and sleeping with her head on his abdominal muscles.

He finally managed to coax Chi Yang to sleep, only for her to take over his bed, forcing him to retreat to the pink, girlishly decorated master bedroom. There, he slept on the cloud-like soft mattress until his back ached.

And now, after waking up.

Chi Yang actually asked him like a heartless woman, “After I got drunk last night, it wasn’t you who brought me back, was it?”

Xie Youci’s expression paused slowly.

He leisurely lifted his chin, displaying the fresh wound she had left on him the night before, his dark eyes fixed on her with a complex, inscrutable gaze. “…You don’t remember?”

“No, I don’t.” Chi Yang shook her head very honestly. She knew she had a poor tolerance for alcohol. In most cases, whenever she got drunk, she would black out and remember nothing afterward.

Xie Youci: “…”

Fine. Kiss and then take no responsibility.

Xie Youci let out a low, ambiguous chuckle, as if he were angry, and turned to leave.

But just then.

A soft, cloud-like voice tinged with a subtle upward lilt suddenly came from behind. “Um… Xie Youci.”

Chi Yang’s voice was delicate and gentle.

Not the kind that was deliberately coquettish, but rather the kind that emerged naturally upon waking in the morning, carrying an unintentionally alluring tone.

Xie Youci stopped in his tracks, hands in his pockets.

He turned his head to look at her, his tone somewhat annoyed. “What?”

Chi Yang rubbed her stomach, which was feeling uncomfortable from the alcohol. “I’m so hungry. Can you get me something to eat?”
