Uchiha Obito scratched his head, looking somewhat reluctant.

Last time, Shibu’s so-called money-making plan had attracted the Anbu.

This time, the Hokage himself might show up.Full novel: Konoha: A Ninjutsu Master Who’s Not Quite Serious! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Maybe not. I just have a feeling you’re not very reliable!”

Hatake Shibu walked over and casually draped an arm around his neck.

“Relax. This time it’s definitely reliable.”

“We’ll sell our products outside the village. That way, there won’t be any problems, right?”

Hearing that they would be doing business outside the village, Obito breathed a sigh of relief.

Even so, he remained silent for a long time, seemingly unwilling to give an answer.

Shibu grew anxious.

“Fortune favors the bold, while the timid starve!”

“Obito, we’re talking about money here!”

“I guarantee that I’ll become the richest man in the shinobi world someday, and you’ll be the second richest!”

“How about it?”

The flame that had already been extinguished in Obito’s heart instantly reignited.

Who didn’t dream of becoming rich?

“I’m in! We’ll talk about it slowly during class tomorrow!”

Hatake Shibu nodded in satisfaction.

“Good! You’re teachable!”

Just as Shibu turned around to leave, he suddenly looked back at Obito.

“By the way, you seem to have a bit of excess heat in your body.”

“When the time comes, drink some herbal tea to treat it.”

“What’s this ‘excess heat’—gah!”

Before Obito could finish speaking, he saw that Shibu’s hands were already forming the same seals without even pausing.

His voice instantly became hoarse.

“You said I wasn’t reliable before!”

“This is payback!”

“See you tomorrow, Obito!”

Shibu made a face at him before instantly disappearing from the spot.

Favors were favors.

Grudges were grudges.

Watching Shibu disappear into the distance, Obito’s expression instantly became one of utter despair.

He really does take revenge for every little grudge.

I shouldn’t have said that!

After smacking himself in the face once, Obito walked back into the elderly care home.

He still had to drink herbal tea after returning.

Just thinking about the taste made him feel like throwing up.

And now he had to experience that nightmare all over again.

The next morning, Hatake Shibu entered the classroom right as the bell rang.

The teacher standing at the podium was practically grinding his teeth in frustration.

Damn it!

This little brat made it just in time again!

Meanwhile, Uchiha Obito had arrived at the classroom unusually early.

This made the teacher wonder whether the end of the world had arrived.

The two kings of tardiness were actually on time!

“Shibu, what was that money-making plan you mentioned?”

Hatake Shibu looked at Uchiha Obito sitting in his seat with some surprise.

Didn’t he encounter some old man or old lady on his way to school today?

This isn’t scientific!

Wasn’t Obito naturally blessed with a constitution that guaranteed he would encounter an elderly person every time he left home?

Why had that failed today?

Shibu found it rather strange.

Being late once, twice, or even several days in a row was understandable.

But being late every single day?

How was that possible?

Shibu eventually took an entire day to investigate.

He waited outside Obito’s house early in the morning and followed him when he left.

Afterward, he finally understood.

There really were things in this world that neither science nor chakra could explain.

He had personally witnessed Obito leaving home early, only to encounter four or five elderly women along the way.

Shibu felt that Obito really ought to visit a temple and have an exorcism.

It would be better to get rid of whatever evil spirit had attached itself to him.

“Hehe. Have you ever seen Konoha at four in the morning?”

Obito awkwardly scratched the back of his head.

Hatake Shibu gave him a thumbs-up.

“You really are ruthless!”

“No.”

“You’re more than ruthless.”

“You’re a werewolf!”

He had actually started leaving home at four in the morning just to avoid elderly women!

Shibu sat down and said to Obito,

“This isn’t the place to demonstrate it.”

“After school, we’ll find somewhere deserted and I’ll show you.”

“Do you know any merchants who do business outside the village?”

The Hatake Clan was quite small.

They only had two shops, one in Konoha and another in the capital of the Land of Fire, and both sold samurai swords.

So Shibu could only look outside the village for a suitable business partner.

Obito thought for a moment before answering.

“Yes. Grandpa Yoshida used to travel around doing business.”

“But he got old and handed his business over to his son.”

Hatake Shibu nodded in satisfaction.

The reason he had brought Obito into this plan was precisely because of his connections.

To put it bluntly, Uchiha Obito was Konoha’s friend of the elderly.

He practically knew every old person in the village, and he had helped most of them in one way or another.

It would be a waste not to make use of connections like that.

“Good. Then we’ll go find him after school.”

“But didn’t you say yesterday that you had to go to the elderly care home?”

“An ordinary Shadow Clone can take care of that.”

Obito suddenly felt a wave of envy.

Why can’t I learn the Shadow Clone Technique?

I can barely even use the regular Clone Technique!

Shibu patted him on the shoulder and smiled.

“Don’t worry. I’ll teach you in the future.”

Shibu noticed the disappointment on Obito’s face.

This wouldn’t do.

This was his number-one henchman!

In terms of both talent and combat intelligence, Obito was among the best.

A gullible fighter like this was hard to find.

He had to teach Obito a few tricks.

Otherwise, that old bastard Uchiha Madara might fool him away again.

The day’s classes soon ended.

Hatake Shibu created a Shadow Clone and sent it to take care of the elderly residents.

“Obito, I’ll show you a new ninjutsu I’ve developed!”

Uchiha Obito scratched the back of his head and unconsciously moved a little farther away.

He didn’t want to be the test subject for one of Shibu’s techniques.

It didn’t matter what the technique was supposed to do.

Hatake Shibu’s face darkened.

“Don’t move so far away!”

“This thing is tiny. You need to come closer to see it clearly.”

After Obito approached, Shibu formed hand seals.

A thin branch slowly emerged from the ground.

“Wood Release?!”

Obito was so shocked that he nearly shouted.

Fortunately, he knew better than to make too much noise and immediately lowered his voice.

“Wood Release?”

Shibu shook his head.

“It’s not a Kekkei Genkai.”

“It’s just a ninjutsu.”

Since Shibu dared to reveal it, he wasn’t afraid of anyone investigating.

If this technique had actually been a Kekkei Genkai, he would probably have had to spend a huge amount of money to keep it hidden.

After all, it was the most famous Kekkei Genkai in the shinobi world.

The price would have been astronomical.

In short, it would have cost a lot.

“What are you talking about?”

“This is Wood Release!”

“It’s the same Wood Release used by the First Hokage!”

Obito was extremely excited.

Although he wasn’t the one who possessed the technique, seeing his friend become stronger was still incredibly exciting.
