Zach and Kai’Sa raced through the desert, quickly closing in on the source of the voice.
Hearing the girl’s shouts in the distance, Zach raised an eyebrow.
That voice sounded way too familiar.
The image of a girl who could control stone quickly surfaced in his mind.
The Stoneweaver, Taliyah!
He and Kai’Sa swiftly crossed the dune before them, and the scene ahead appeared in their eyes.
There, more than a dozen of the same whale-like Void creatures from earlier had completely surrounded the travelers in the center.
Not only that, but outside the crowd, severed limbs and torn remains were scattered across the sand.
Clearly, in just that short span of time, some people had already been devoured by these Void creatures.
And in front of those Void creatures, a bronze-skinned girl was constantly swinging her arms.
In her hands, sand gathered into stone, and the stone turned into sharp spikes one after another.
Immediately afterward, a huge slab of rock suddenly burst up from underground, launching the Void creature above it straight into those stone spikes.
“Squelch!”
Amid the Void creature’s shrill roar, the stone spikes pierced straight through its body.
But in the end, she was only one person, while there were more than a dozen Void creatures.
At that moment, those Void creatures had already begun charging from every direction toward the defenseless civilians behind the girl.
When the girl saw this, anxiety filled her eyes.
She slammed both hands hard against the ground, and two towering walls of rock spread outward, instantly forcing those Void creatures back.
What surprised the girl was that the instant the curtain of stone knocked those strange Void fish away, they suddenly burrowed into the sand.
Just as the girl thought her attack had scared them off, her expression changed completely.
“No!”
In the next instant, under the girl’s horrified gaze, the strange Void fish passed directly beneath her stone wall, burst out of the sand once again, and charged straight toward the civilians within the wall.
The girl only had time to summon countless stone spikes, but there was no way she could instantly call up so many Seismic Shoves.
She could only watch helplessly as the strange Void fish opened their bloodstained maws and lunged at her tribe.
But just as the girl shut her eyes in despair, a dazzling purple light suddenly flashed before her.
Immediately afterward came countless purple missiles.
“Boom!”
The purple missiles once again forced the strange Void fish back, finally giving the girl time to rush to her tribe’s side.
After confirming that her people were all right, she looked straight into the distance.
The civilians beside her looked in the same direction.
But when everyone saw who had saved them, fear suddenly appeared in their eyes.
One woman even cried out, “Taliyah, it’s a Void monster!”
“No.” Taliyah interrupted her directly. Find the original chapter at g.com.
She looked at Kai’Sa in the distance, and then at Zach beside Kai’Sa, and said softly, “She should be human.”
As they spoke, Kai’Sa had already rushed toward those strange Void fish again, while Zach’s hands shimmered with dense Ascended power, ready at any moment to crush any Void creature that threatened Kai’Sa into dust.
What surprised Zach a little was that after Kai’Sa brought down two of the strange Void fish, Taliyah came to her side and summoned stone to fight together with her.
Taliyah’s reaction caught Zach somewhat off guard.
Because she did not treat Kai’Sa like some terrifying disaster the way the others did.
With the two girls working together, the dozen or so strange Void fish were soon wiped out completely.
Only then did Taliyah look warily at Zach and Kai’Sa beside him.
“You two are…”
Taliyah’s gaze remained fixed on Kai’Sa the entire time.
She still could not believe that a human girl could have the carapace of a Void creature on her body.
If Kai’Sa had been wearing the mask over her face right now, Taliyah probably would have mistaken her for a Void creature on the spot.
Zach spread his hands.
“We happened to be passing by.
Kai’Sa saw that you were in danger, so she came over to help.”
“Kai’Sa…”
Taliyah repeated Kai’Sa’s name, then looked at her and said with deep gratitude, “Thank you!”
Hearing Taliyah’s words, Kai’Sa could not help feeling a little surprised.
She had not expected Taliyah to avoid treating her like a Void monster the way those civilians had.
Kai’Sa slowly shook her head and reminded her softly, “You shouldn’t have come this way.
This area is extremely dangerous.”
Taliyah looked down at the torn remains and severed limbs beneath her feet, and deep sorrow filled her eyes.
But her gaze remained firm.
“I have a reason I must pass through this region.”
Zach said helplessly, “Even if you don’t think about yourself, you should think about your tribe.
With them following you, there is no way you can cross land filled with Void creatures.”
“That is exactly why I’m thinking about my tribe.”
Taliyah said with absolute resolve, “I have to lead my people to a place suitable for them to live!
Shurima’s last emperor, Azir, has been resurrected.
“Huh?”
Zach looked at Taliyah with suspicion.
He knew Azir had been resurrected, but why would Taliyah call Azir’s rule cruel?
“Why call it… cruel rule?”
Taliyah thought for a moment, then said, “Shurima fell because of him, so he definitely wasn’t a wise ruler!
Maybe he was some shameless tyrant who cared only about his own pleasures!”
The more she spoke, the more certain she became, until finally she said firmly, “I absolutely cannot let my people live under his cruel rule!”
Zach: “…”
Zach felt that this was probably the biggest false accusation Azir had ever carried.
“Let’s find somewhere to settle first.
After that, we can discuss a way through this place.”
Seeing that Taliyah would not give up no matter what, Kai’Sa had no choice but to say this.
She had come here in the first place to help others avoid being harmed by the Void.
After hearing that Taliyah refused to leave this place, Kai’Sa could only choose to lead them somewhere without Void creatures.
Hearing Kai’Sa’s words, Taliyah gave her and Zach a bright, easy smile, then pulled them toward her tribe.
“Come on.
I’ll introduce you to my people!”
When they reached the civilians, Taliyah first introduced Zach.
“Everyone, these two are the ones who saved us!”
When the crowd saw Zach, they could not help looking at him with gratitude, and they greeted him warmly.
After Zach’s introduction, naturally, it was Kai’Sa’s turn.
“Everyone…”
Before Taliyah could finish, she saw her people all take a few steps back in unison.
Even the smiles they had worn when facing Zach vanished from their faces, replaced by wary, cautious expressions.
Seeing this, Taliyah looked at Kai’Sa awkwardly.
Kai’Sa gently shook her head, then turned and walked toward a certain part of the desert.
“Just follow me.
I know a place where you can rest.”
Felix, a transmigrator from Earth, wakes up in Zaun before and during the events of Arcane.
He becomes connected to Silco’s side, gains a Skin Master System, and uses League skin-based weapons, tech, armor, and abilities to change the fate of Zaun.
Instead of letting Arcane’s tragedies play out exactly the same way, Felix tries to protect the people around him, especially Powder/Jinx, and push Zaun toward open rebellion against Piltover.
The story starts with the Piltover-Zaun conflict, then expands into the wider Runeterra setting: Noxus’s invasion of Ionia, Demacia’s internal conflict, the Freljord, Shurima, the Void, and eventually the Ruination/Shadow Isles plotline.
