“Insect, repeat what you just said!”
While Zach was still stunned, Aatrox’s hoarse voice rang out again, filled with murderous intent.
Zach looked at Aatrox, or more specifically, at his body, which was covered in cracks.
Even though he had already absorbed the bodies of dozens of sand raiders, there was still a very deep gash across Aatrox’s chest.
Zach could even see that beneath the wound, there was no heart at all.
Subconsciously, Zach looked toward the blood-red greatsword in Aatrox’s hand.
Where the hilt met the blade, the steady thud of a beating heart was constantly coming from within it.
Based on Zach’s understanding of the Darkin, the Aatrox standing before him right now was not Aatrox’s true body at all.
His true body should be the sword in his hand.
The flesh standing before him was merely a vessel for Aatrox’s power and spirit.
And compared to the body Aatrox had possessed at his peak, this vessel was unbelievably frail.
Perhaps that was the main reason Aatrox’s strength was far inferior to what it had once been.
If they could, what Darkin would not want a powerful body?
After all, the stronger the body, the more power a Darkin could unleash.
Aatrox had wandered Runeterra for so long, yet he still had not obtained the ideal body he desired.
Now that Zach had finally brought up this subject, naturally, Aatrox would not give up so easily.
And that was exactly why Zach had been able to make Aatrox stop his sword.
Zach said in a low voice, “As for where to find a body, I actually know a little about that!”
“You know a little?”
The instant Zach’s voice fell, Aatrox arrived in front of him.
His more than three-meter-tall body and blood-colored eyes carried an overwhelming sense of intimidation.
“Insect, your words had better be true.
Otherwise, I will make you taste the most painful torment in this world!”
Zach raised his head and looked up at Aatrox before him, and his heart filled with countless emotions.
He suddenly said, “Aatrox, before that, I want to ask you something.
Aside from obtaining a body, do you have any other wishes?”
“Hm?”
Aatrox narrowed his eyes slightly.
His greatsword slowly rose, the tip stopping only a few centimeters from Zach’s nose.
“Insect, are you mocking me?”
Faced with a Darkin’s threat, Zach’s expression did not change at all.
Because he knew that, right now, he had no choice but to remain calm.
Panic would not let him survive under Aatrox’s blade.
It would only make him die faster.
All he could do was try his best to complete the prompt from that line of text and help Aatrox fulfill his dream.
As long as he could help Aatrox fulfill his dream, he could obtain one of Aatrox’s many powers or traits.
At that point, he would no longer be a helpless mortal.
Zach spread his hands.
“I’m just asking.
Who knows?
Maybe I can make it happen.”
Zach’s behavior actually surprised Aatrox greatly.
Now, he was a Darkin.
In the past, he had been an Ascended.
No matter when or where, whenever mortals faced him, he had never met one as calm as Zach.
Aatrox did not believe Zach could escape from his hands.
So Aatrox said in an indifferent voice, “My wish?
To make the world embrace oblivion!”
Zach: “…”
That wish probably won’t be easy to make happen.
He looked at Aatrox helplessly.
“Aatrox, do you have any slightly simpler wishes?
What if I really can help you?”
“Slightly simpler…”
Aatrox turned his head and looked into the depths of the western Shuriman desert.
Then Aatrox said faintly, “Kill all the Aspects!
Free my soul from this greatsword!
Return to the body of an Ascended!
Restore the ancient Shuriman Empire to its former glory!”
“Stop, stop, stop!
Hold it right there!”
Zach made a stopping gesture toward Aatrox while quickly saying, “All right, Aatrox, let’s discuss how to get you a suitable body right now!”
Aatrox: “…”
There was no helping it.
The wishes Aatrox had listed were really a bit too much for anyone.
Considering Zach currently had nothing on him except a torn pair of shorts, Aatrox’s wishes were far beyond his current skill level.
Originally, Zach had thought that if Aatrox had some wish easier than obtaining a body, it would be easier for him to accomplish.
But after hearing all that, helping him obtain a body still sounded more realistic.
“Hmph!”
Hearing Zach’s words, Aatrox snorted coldly and did not reply.
However, his gaze was very obvious.
You had better explain yourself properly, or I will cut you into eight pieces.
Aatrox was extremely doubtful of Zach’s claim that he “knew a little.”
Zach raised his hand, pushed Aatrox’s greatsword aside, and sat cross-legged on the ground.
He looked at Aatrox.
“Aatrox, what level of body would be needed to carry your power?”
Zach remembered very clearly that Aatrox’s method of searching for a body was different from every known Darkin’s current approach.
Other Darkin, such as Kayn’s Darkin weapon and Varus, merely sought a suitable host, took over that host, and then used the body for themselves.
But Aatrox was completely different.
Aatrox had never had any intention of finding a host.
His method was to kill every body he took an interest in, then use their flesh and blood to piece together a new body resembling his original appearance.
All that could be said was that when it came to finding a body, Aatrox’s standards were very high.
Of course, it was also possible that Aatrox’s power and pride were both far greater than those of the other Darkin.
Because of this, Zach had to be even more careful when helping Aatrox find a body.
However, he already had an idea in mind.
Aatrox looked at Zach sitting cross-legged on the ground without a care in the world, his eyes cold as he placed the greatsword behind his back.
At the same time, he said, “The bodies of mortals are never enough, no matter how many there are!
Insects are insects.
No matter how many gather together, they are useless!”
Zach nodded with a smile.
“Naturally, I know that.
That’s why I won’t have you look for a mortal body.”
Aatrox stood in front of Zach and silently waited for him to continue.
And Zach finally said what he had been thinking.
“Aatrox, after wandering Runeterra for so long, have you ever been to the Freljord?”
