The human and goblin duo of Sharptooth and Harry went through a long and exhilarating journey on the infamous cartwheel of Gringotts.

It brought Harry memories of the first year when he had arrived at Gringotts for the first time.

The cartwheel brought them deep inside Gringotts and arrived in an extremely large room.Full novel: Legacy of Harry Potter — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The ceiling of the room was so high that Harry felt like he was almost looking into the sky.

Standing in the centre of the room was a square shaped altar.

At the top of the altar was a bowl made of some kind of Red Crystal.

Sharptooth followed by Harry arrived near the altar.

“Mr.

Potter,” Sharptooth said.

“You know there was a time when magical and blood rituals were as common as wand magic in the Wizarding world.”

“But slowly the Ministry and the Wizengamot started to fear powerful people and powerful magic,” he explained.

“So instead of finding ways to get powerful, they started to clip every powerful magic and ritual.”

“Everything they feared or did not understand was classified as dark magic,” he sighed.

“Rituals, on the other hand, were almost completely banned and they vanished from magical Britain.”

“This inheritance ritual is the one of the rare legally allowed blood rituals,” Sharptooth added.

Sharptooth indicated a silver knife placed next to the bowl, and understanding what he meant, Harry picked up the silver knife.

With a slice of the knife, his palm was split open and blood trickled down into the bowl.

After a few drops of blood, the bowl started to glow.

The bowl continued to glow for a few moments, and five lines emerged from the bowl and moved and connected to five different locations.

The first line was blood red in colour, which traced to the names of James Potter and Lily Evans.

Another line emerged from James Potter which connected to Charlus Potter and Dorea Black Potter.

Lily had no lines emerging from her name.

The second line was a dashed line in red blood colour which was connected to two names.

One Sirius Black and the other being Dorea Black.

The third line was purely golden and was connected to three names.

Antioch Peverell, Cadmus Peverell, and Ignotus Peverell.

The fourth line was again purely golden which was connected to one single name.

Godric Gryffindor.

The fifth line was again purely golden which was connected to Salazar Slytherin.

After the lines were connected to names, the wall in front of the altar pulsed and engravings appeared on the wall.

Harry James Potter

LORD PEVERELL

LORD POTTER (Lordship not claimed)

LORD BLACK (Lordship not claimed)

LORD GRYFFINDOR (Lordship not claimed)

LORD SLYTHERIN (Lordship not claimed)

Both their eyes were wide and their mouths hung open.

After a few moments, Sharptooth composed himself and laughed out loud.

“Mr.

Potter,” he said.

“I must say you played well.

Really, really played well.”

Harry, still not able to overcome his astonishment, asked, “How?”

“Hahha,” Sharptooth laughed again, “This will need some explanation to do.”

“Explain, please,” Harry responded.

Sharptooth snapped his fingers and two chairs appeared out of nowhere at one end of the room.

He gestured and Harry took his seat.

“Now, you are already Lord Peverell, Mr.

Potter, so no explanation is required here,” started Sharptooth.

“In fact, it is you who should be explaining things to me.”

“But I must say, you played me well by hiding that fact,” he remarked.

Harry simply nodded and waited for the explanation to continue.

“Same is the case with the Potter family,” Sharptooth continued.

“There are no surprises here.

You are the heir of the Potter family.

About the Black family, we will discuss that at the end.”

“Now about the Gryffindor and Slytherin family,” Sharptooth continued further.

” Just like the Peverell family, you have been chosen as the magical heir of Salazar Slytherin and Godric Gryffindor.”

“The blood red lines in the Potter family indicated blood relation, while the golden light represents a magical heir.”

“Why me?” questioned Harry.

“That is something I do not know, Mr.

Potter,” Sharptooth answered.

“Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin must have set up specific requirements to choose someone as a magical heir.

I do not know about that requirement.”

“I assume that you know the reason for you being the Peverell heir,” Sharptooth pointed.

Harry nodded but did not divulge any information.

“Maybe you will know about Gryffindor and Slytherin after you claim the Lordship,” Sharptooth remarked.

“Now about the Blacks,” he continued, “is a complex matter.”

“Isn’t Sirius Black supposed to be the Black Lord?” Harry questioned.

“In an ideal scenario, yes,” Sharptooth replied.

“But since he was in Azkaban, he never took up the Lordship.”

Remembering Sirius’s innocence, Harry felt a rage welling up inside him.

“After Sirius,” Sharptooth continued, “there are two other people who could have taken the Black Lordship.

Draco Malfoy through Narcissa Black, and you through Dorea Black.”

“But Mr.

Potter, your case is a bit exceptional,” he explained.

“Since you gained the Lordship of a Primitive family, the Peverell Family, your claim to any other inheritance was strengthened.

Since the Black Lordship was empty, you became its rightful Lord.”

Harry took a minute to digest all the information.

Though he had an understanding of certain privileges he had being a Lord of a Primitive family, this was something he had no idea about.

Even so, he did not want to take something which rightfully belonged to Sirius.

“And if I do not want the Black Lordship?” Harry questioned.

“You must claim what magic has dictated to you, Mr.

Potter,” Sharptooth responded with a shake of his head.

He continued before Harry could interrupt.

“But I can understand why you would detest the Black Lordship.

So there is only one way to reject your claim on the Lordship.

You must banish yourself from the Black family.”

“Sirius would then be Lord Black,” Harry commented.

Sharptooth shook his head in denial, surprising Harry.

“No, Mr.

Potter,” he said.

“There is no guarantee.

Magic is not a simple thing.

It has been years since Sirius Black should have claimed his Lordship, but since he had not done so, his claim was weakening day by day.

And now, since his claim was breached and you superseded him and you were chosen as Lord Black, there is little chance Sirius Black will be Lord Black.

Draco Malfoy will have a greater claim than Sirius in this scenario.”

“And even if somehow Sirius Black is able to claim his Lordship, he has no heir.

And I doubt that after his stay in Azkaban, and even if he is able to deceive everyone and be on the run, he will have a chance to wed and give birth to an heir.”

“Ultimately,” Sharptooth sighed, “now or some time later, Draco Malfoy will definitely become Lord Black that is if you reject the Lordship.”

Harry sat there in consideration for a few minutes.

On one hand, he did not want to snatch something from Sirius.

On the other hand, he could not allow the Black fortune and influence to fall into the hands of Draco Malfoy.

“I will take the Black Lordship,” he declared with a deep breath.

Sharptooth grinned in response.
