John was walking back towards the guild when suddenly six women surrounded him.

All of them were powerful adventurers, each one wielding a different weapon and radiating an aura of power.

One had a giant greatsword resting on her shoulder.Full novel: Limitless Evolution As A Necromancer — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Another looked like an experienced archer with a black longbow.

The third one was most likely a dual-wielding fighter because she had two curved short swords.

The next one was carrying a spear.

The fifth seems to be mage with a staff.

And the last one was a dark-clothed woman who did not carry any weapons, obviously a stealthy assassin of some sort.

The first one stepped forward and raised her greatsword a little and said in a firm voice.

"We do not want any trouble. Get inside the guild. Now."

John was quite surprised that he was surrounded by such powerful women.

He only gave them a calm smile and allowed them to lead him into the guild.

As he entered the guild hall, his eyes fell on the table where his allies had been waiting for him. They were not there.

’Probably, Lyra took them back to the lair. A good girl... I will reward her later.’

The adventurers in the hall suddenly tensed and started whispering.

"Isn’t that the S rank adventurers?"

"Why are they with that white-haired guy?"

"H-he killed the villagers!"

John completely ignored them and the six female adventurers brought him to a door labeled as the Guildmaster’s Office.

One of them knocked on the door, and a moment later, a female voice responded.

John raised an eyebrow. The Guildmaster was also a woman.

On the desk in the room, a nameplate introduced the woman as Benedicta Aura.

Benedicta was a woman that has a imposing figure. She wore a long dress that barely covered her legs and radiated a confident aura.

On the desk lay a long sword. One of Benedicta’s legs was bent, resting on the desk with her boot.

Her gaze immediately fell on John when he entered the room. All six adventurers got out of the room, closing the door behind them.

"So, John Graves. You killed one of our S rank adventurers. Did you think that we would let you go?" Benedicta said coldly.

John listened to the Guildmaster’s words in silence and replied back with a smile on his face.

"He angered me, and I killed him. Your guild and its adventurers allowed innocent people to die, so I ended his life. Where is my thank you gift?"

Benedicta’s expression darkened.

"That does not give you the excuse of killing one of the guild top adventurers.

Well that is not even the only reason why you are here. The true reason why you are here is the massacre of the people of the village."

John smiled wider as he listened. He did not want to openly insult Benedicta. After all, she was an S rank adventurer, albeit retired.

Nevertheless, the woman was still strong, and he could feel her gaze piercing through him.

"Because of your actions, monsters will attack Frostveil. So clean up the mess that you made."

John’s expression took on a different look from when he was smiling but before he could say anything a cold blade pressed against John’s neck.

One of the six female adventurers who escorted John was holding a blade to his neck. It was the one that looked like an assassin , that’s why he did not hear the door opening, and John was quite surprised that he did not sense the woman’s presence.

Benedicta gave a hand signal, and the assassin immediately sheathed her dagger and left the room as silently as she entered. John was surprised by the assassin’s skills.

"One of our receptionists has gone missing.

Some members of the board believe that you are responsible," Benedicta said.

"Are you accusing me?"

"No. I am not. I just don’t wish to complicate things with the board that rules this guild.

They are the ones who order us to do certain things" she replied, leaning forward slightly. "They ordered us not to take any actions against Henry but you came along and killed those villagers now you must be executed in three days’ time."

John spoke in a calm tone.

"And what will you do if I escape before my execution day? Do you think that I will stay in this world and let you kill me? Do you know that I can leave this world whenever I want?"

Benedicta shook her head.

"The S rank adventurers will watch yourr every move. You cannot leave so easily, and you are not stronger than them, John. I am not entirely satisfied with the board’s decision either, but I am only one woman.

This world is filled with corrupt people, and I want to purge them all. Unfortunately, even my six powerful subordinates are not strong enough to oppose the law created by the mightiest man in all of Frostveil."

John was silent for a moment, contemplating what the woman said.

She then spoke again.

"You know... no one seems to realize but the minister is overly powerful. It was simply amazing. It was as if he had fused with his sword.

When I fought him, the battle did not last twenty seconds. When he fought the six s rank adventurers it only took him a few seconds to defeat all six of them.

John thought in his mind that it might have been one of the Swordmasters of Alderia, but put away that thought. After all, none of them would have a reason to come here, to this rift."

Benedicta’s expression softened.

"I am sorry, John. My hands are tied."

John gave a charming smile and said in a calm voice.

"Do not worry, Benedicta. Even if my head is chopped off, I will never truly die. I still have people who care for me, and I still have things to do."

Benedicta looked at John for a moment longer before gesturing to him to leave.

The six female adventurers opened the door and led John back to the hall so that he could see his allies one last time.

John left the guild practically as a prisoner.

Meanwhile, far away in the capital of Alderia, a woman’s head rolled on the floor.

This woman was stupid enough to stand in the way of the Five Great Mages.

The mages continued walking as the King ordered all of his factions to arrive at the capital.

This was the first time ever that all the factions that served the king would meet in one place.
