There was no hint of mockery in his tone, but it was precisely this matter-of-fact attitude that drove people crazy.

Wang Yixing's face flushed red.

"Don't get too cocky, we'll see!"

With that, he angrily turned and returned to his seat, making the chair clatter loudly.

Jiang Xia leaned over, lowering his voice.

"Brother Fang, that was impressive."

"Just speaking the truth."

The classroom buzzed with conversation.

"Hey, who do you think will awaken a stronger class, Lu Fang or Wang Yixing?"

"Hard to say, Lu Fang's parents are both level 400, and Wang Yixing's dad is level 400 too. Their genes are off the charts."

"I hope to awaken as a Mage, a Fire Mage. How cool would that be, casting Fireball with a wave of my hand."

"Mages are too expensive to maintain. Being an Assassin is better, coming and going without a trace."

"Stop dreaming. If I can awaken a combat class, I'll be burning incense in gratitude. If I awaken as a Gardener, I'll just have to go home and plant flowers."

Everyone was discussing.

Their tones were filled with anticipation for the future, as well as fear of the unknown.

This was the dividing line.

Awaken a powerful class, and you rise to the top, becoming a person of influence.

Awaken a useless class, and you'll be stuck at the bottom, struggling to survive.

It's harsh, but it's reality.

Eight o'clock sharp.

Footsteps echoed from the doorway.

The homeroom teacher, Old Zhang, walked in.

The classroom fell silent.

Old Zhang waved his hand.

"Everyone, stand up and head to the Gymnasium."

With a rustle, everyone stood up.

Lu Fang and Jiang Xia walked in the middle of the line.

On the athletic field, other classes were also heading towards the Gymnasium.

A sea of heads, black and dense.

The footsteps were chaotic, but no one spoke.

The atmosphere grew heavy.

The closer they got to the Gymnasium, the stronger the oppressive feeling became.

Like the calm before a storm.

The Gymnasium at Jiangcheng No. 1 High School was huge.

The dome was high, with rows of large lights hanging from it, illuminating the interior as bright as day.

The Gymnasium was already packed with people.

The entire senior year, over a thousand students, were all here.

At the front was a high platform.

After a few simple words from the Principal, he directly announced.

"Now, we begin the Awakening Ceremony."

"When your name is called, come up."

"Groups of ten, enter the ten Awakening Chambers at the back."

"Each person has a maximum of five minutes."

"First group: Zhang Wei, Li Lan, Zhao Qiang..."

Names were called one by one.

Those called visibly trembled, then stiffly stepped out of the line.

They walked towards the ten rooms.

The doors opened, they entered, and the doors closed again.

The hall was deathly silent.

Everyone's eyes were fixed on those ten doors.

Lu Fang could feel Jiang Xia trembling beside him.

"Don't be afraid."

Lu Fang reached out and patted Jiang Xia's shoulder.

Jiang Xia took a deep breath, forcing a smile.

"I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid..."

Though he said he wasn't afraid, his teeth were chattering.

A few minutes later.

The door to Room One opened.

Zhang Wei, who had just gone in, walked out.

He held a hoe in his hand.

That was the starter equipment that came with awakening, also a symbol of the class.

Zhang Wei looked dejected, his eyes red.

"Farmer..."

Someone whispered.

A sigh of pity rippled through the crowd.

Farmer, a typical life class, destined to till the land and cultivate spirit plants.

Soon after, others emerged from the rooms.

Some held spatulas.

Some held scissors.

And one person held a short sword, their face flushed with excitement—that was a Warrior.

Joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness were vividly displayed at this moment.

Time ticked by.

Batch after batch went up and came down.

Most were life classes or ordinary combat classes.

Occasionally, one or two rare classes, like Elemental Mage, would cause a stir.

"Next group: Jiang Xia, Wang Yixing, Liu Bo..."

The Principal's voice rang out again.

Jiang Xia shuddered.

"It's my turn, it's my turn."

He muttered, glancing at Lu Fang.

"Brother Fang, I'm going."

"Go on, good luck."

Lu Fang nodded at him.

Wang Yixing also stepped out.

As he passed by Lu Fang, he paused.

"Watch closely."

Wang Yixing sneered.

"I'll show you what a genius is."

With that, he strode towards the Awakening Chamber.

Jiang Xia entered Room Three.

Wang Yixing entered Room Five.

The doors closed.

Lu Fang's gaze fixed on the door of Room Three.

He was actually quite worried about Jiang Xia.

Although Jiang Xia usually acted carefree, he was very sensitive. If he really awakened a useless class, it would be a heavy blow.

One minute.

Two minutes.

Suddenly, the door to Room Three opened.

Jiang Xia rushed out.

He held a wooden longbow in his hand, with a quiver on his back.

His face was brimming with joy.

Before he even returned to the line, he couldn't help but jump up.

"Brother Fang! Brother Fang!"

Jiang Xia shouted, completely ignoring the stares of those around him.

"Sharpshooter! I'm a Sharpshooter!"

The crowd stirred.

"Sharpshooter?!"

"He's so lucky, that's a powerful ranged DPS."

"Won't have to worry about finding a team for dungeons in the future."

Lu Fang looked at Jiang Xia's excited expression and smiled.

Sharpshooter, indeed not bad.

With proper training, the damage output could be explosive in the later stages.

Jiang Xia jogged over to Lu Fang, too excited to speak coherently.

"Brother Fang, did you see? I have a bow! I'm a combat class!"

He held the wooden bow up to show off to Lu Fang.

Though the bow was rough, a faint glow seemed to flow over it.

"I saw, congratulations."

Lu Fang was genuinely happy for him.

Just then.

Boom!

A loud noise, like thunder exploding right next to their ears.

The entire Gymnasium shook.

Everyone jumped in shock, instinctively covering their ears.

Lu Fang quickly looked up.

His gaze locked onto Room Five.

That was the room Wang Yixing had entered.

Above Room Five, a cloud appeared out of nowhere.

The cloud roiled, with purple lightning flashing within.

Crackle.

The sound of electricity was clearly audible.

"What's happening?"

"This is a phenomenon! An awakening phenomenon!"

"Oh my god, what class is this?"

Exclamations erupted one after another.

Even the Principal's eyes widened, leaning forward from the platform.

Usually, only the awakening of special classes or extremely powerful hidden classes would trigger a phenomenon.

The cloud didn't last long.

A few seconds later, a thick bolt of lightning struck down, directly into Room Five.

Then, the phenomenon dissipated.

The door to Room Five slowly opened.

Wang Yixing walked out.

His appearance had drastically changed.

His hair stood on end, as if electrified, with blue arcs of lightning dancing around him.

He held a long sword.

The blade wasn't ordinary iron, but a deep blue, with occasional flashes of lightning.

Wang Yixing walked slowly.

With each step, it seemed as if electricity flowed through the floor beneath him.

His expression was one of extreme arrogance.

He basked in the attention of thousands of eyes.

Eyes filled with shock, envy, and jealousy.
