He didn’t use any area healing since he realized she didn’t exactly have any grave injuries. At least, not any that showed up like last time.
His heals worked wonders. She stopped trembling and eventually calmed down.
Arthur exhaled deeply and sat down on the couch beside his bed. He had considered giving her another room, but as it turned out, most of the other rooms contained fancy antiques.
Some of them were sharp and outright dangerous for a blind person to be around.
His room, on the other hand, was the safest.
So, he decided to give it up to her and find somewhere else to sleep.
I’ll stay here for a bit in case she wakes up soon. Also, what am I supposed to do about the slums now? I didn’t expect to kidnap her, but won’t the government or whatever surround this whole place? What if they’re planning to capture me and use me to get to Victoria?
He had that fear, sure, but he also figured that if he were relevant to her, they would have come after him the moment he left this neighborhood and entered the city.
The risk was definitely there, but the reward he could get from healing so many sick people was far too great to pass up.
Since it’s still lunchtime, I have eight more hours before I go to the slums. If I spend the next couple of hours training, then my stats should skyrocket.
Speaking of skyrocketing, just casting Healing Touch five times on her had increased his Mana by an enormous amount.

Six hours flew by in the blink of an eye.
He spent all that time training in the home gym and reading up on some guides about what to do when living with a blind person.
There were a lot of suggestions to baby-proof the house. Basically, put cushions on sharp corners and get rid of most door thresholds so the blind person wouldn’t trip.
After reading up on it, he spent another hour or so modifying his home to make Victoria less prone to injury.
He also removed all the sharp objects from the house and put the knives a bit higher up.
In the end, the only way she could get injured was if she purposefully ran into a wall.
Satisfied with his progress, Arthur stood in front of Victoria’s room.

The progress was insane, and there was no way he felt like a normal person anymore.
He could curl 150 kilograms with one hand, and he was sure he could deadlift almost a ton now.
He hadn’t tested it yet since he had been far too focused on training.
He was more confident now.
He should be able to defend himself, or at the very least, catch someone off guard and escape.
After all, he had maxed out the regular treadmill with ease.
Chuckling to himself, he opened the door.
To his surprise, Victoria was already awake.
She sat on the bed and stared out the window.
For a blind person, she sure acted strangely.
"Morning," he said.
"Morning..."
"Mhm. So, I think it’s about time we address the elephant in the room, don’t you think?" Arthur said.
She glanced back at him.
"Elephant? You’re not that fat, though."
"Don’t be cheeky now. I need to know what’s going on. That’s the least you can do after telling me to kidnap you, you know?"
Victoria paused for a moment before sighing.
"To continue where we left off earlier... The anomaly in question is a mutation in my Class. It’s called Law Maiden. I can grasp any Law in the universe and bend it to my will, so long as I have enough mana and strength. At least, that’s what I understood after overhearing their conversation."
"Uhh...? Isn’t that a bit overpowered? Also, was the thing you used earlier your authority? Like the Law of Space or something?" he asked.
She nodded.
"Yes. I used it after doing precise calculations to avoid suffocating us. And yes, it is as overpowered as it sounds. That’s why I was being monitored and was about to be experimented on."
"I get that, but I’m still confused about something. For one, what’s the mutation in your Class? It sounds overpowered, but balanced, since you almost died after using it. Second, if you were such an important powerhouse, why did they let me leave with you so easily?"
Victoria thought about it for a moment.
"To answer your first question, the mutation stems from my adaptability. The more I use a Law, the more resistance I gain to it. In a way, if I were to use the Law of Space again to teleport us, my injuries wouldn’t be as severe."
Oh?
"And to answer your second question... I’m too tired to think about it. The drugs have yet to wear off, and I have a lot on my mind. So, if you don’t mind, leave me alone until tomorrow."

Yeah, she was definitely hiding something.
He was going to pester her tomorrow until she told him, but until then, he wanted to do some practice.
He just wanted to see what Ms. Conglomerate had to say about it first.
He told her about his plan to go to the slums and heal people. He also mentioned that he had done it yesterday.
After he finished explaining, she simply nodded.
"It’s fine. I can sense where you are at any time. Law of Space usage doesn’t seem to matter based on distance, but rather on the usage itself. I can just fetch you from anywhere, even if you do get kidnapped. Don’t worry, and do what you have to do... We are cooperating until I get home, after all."
He gave her a thumbs-up and left her alone.
He was planning to go to the slums right away, but then he remembered that she hadn’t eaten yet.
There was still a bunch of fresh food in the freezer, so he decided to make some sandwiches for her, as well as some egg-fried rice.
He put a spoon on top, grabbed a glass of water, and walked back into her room, placing the food and water on the desk not too far from the bed.
After that, he finally left, making his way toward the slums.
