The first few articles he saw when he opened the internet shocked him just a teeny-tiny bit.

[Starweaver Idol Concert! Idol Panties Giveaway After the Concert!]

I’m not sure what to be more surprised by. The fact that there are barely any healers, or that they’re giving away panties. Either way, at least this means I won’t have any issues earning money since I’m in high demand.

He skipped the boring articles and went straight to history. When he first got here, the system had mentioned something about a Higher World. Apparently, that was where he was currently at.

But to begin with, what even was a Higher World?

There’s an article here. It’s titled "Primary Education"? Oh, no wonder. They’d have schools teaching this stuff to people since it’s not as unusual to them as it is to me.

He clicked on the article and combed through hundreds of pages of information. When he was done, he realized the author could have explained everything in a few paragraphs.

Higher Worlds were simply worlds that had evolved beyond the limits of ordinary civilizations. There were some examples of Lower Worlds, and Earth fell into that category, unsurprisingly.

Apparently, every world above the Medium tier had mana, and that was pretty much what determined the entire hierarchy.

The abundance of mana and the mass of the world itself were the primary factors.

This world was almost as big as the Sun, which was hard to believe, as that meant there were at least a few trillion people living here.

On that note, unlike Lower Worlds such as Earth, the article stated that mana naturally existed everywhere, allowing living beings to surpass their biological limits, develop supernatural abilities, and increase their Levels far beyond what would otherwise be possible.

So, in game terms, Higher Worlds were just an experience boost, among many other things.

Arthur ate some fresh bread he found and continued surfing the internet.

There was a lot of interesting stuff here, including dungeons where monsters and other fancy things existed. Multiple organizations were tied to monsters, while many others were related to education.

One form of education in particular, an academy for magic, actually interested him a lot.

It didn’t have an age limit, per se. People went there to learn about magic and their abilities in general. He was thinking of giving it a try after that woman moved in and the two of them figured out what they wanted to do.

Anyways, that’s enough slacking around on the computer. I got the gist of it. This world is safe, and most of the dangers, like monsters and armies, are all optional. No way am I serving in the army again. Fighting and killing isn’t for me either.

He let out a chuckle.

I’ll just be a healer in the countryside who’s secretly overpowered. Heh. It was always my dream to just have a chill life. I’ll make the most of this.

After finishing the toast, Arthur went ahead and ate a bit more. He hadn’t realized just how hungry he had gotten.

That resulted in him eating a whole chicken he found, as well as half of another one.

He took a bath, changed into some new clothes, and then did some weightlifting on the side, too.

Who knew lying to his friends would give him a home gym?

Despite that, he decided to run a quick test. He spent three hours training just to see how much his stats could rise.

Lifting for Strength.

Running and full-blown cardio for Stamina and Agility.

First-person shooters on the office computer for Perception.

And lastly, using the Healing Touch skill to lessen his fatigue, which increased Mana.

By the end of the three-hour exercise, his stats were like this:

Name: Arthur Vegas

Age: 22

Race: Human

Class: Mystic Healer (Lv.1) [Experience: 575 / 1,000]

Level: 1 [0 / 100 Experience]

Mana Core: None

Mana Core Affinity: None

—HP & MP

[HP: 140 / 140 → 150 / 150]

[MP: 35 / 110 → 140 / 140]

—Attributes:

[Strength: 13 → 14]

[Stamina: 14 → 15]

[Agility: 12]

[Perception: 10]

[Mana: 11 → 14]

—Skills

[Healing Touch (Lv.1)]

—Heal 25 HP when making contact with someone.

Cost: 25 MP

I thought stats were easy to raise. Sigh... Mana is fairly easy, but for Strength and Stamina, I needed to push myself to failure just to see even a one-point increase. It’s not worth it. I’ll just wait for that woman to come so I can get the 100x stat growth bonus. There’s no point doing anything before that.

On that note, his eyes landed on his Mana Core.

Apparently, whenever he reached Level 10, one would start to form, and by Level 20, it would fully form. It would give him a buff to his mana usage, while his affinity, which was apparently tightly tied to Classes in general, might give him a boost to his healing.

Whatever the case, he was done idling around.

He glanced out the window.

Seeing that it was dark, he went outside and checked his mailbox. Just as they had said, there was an ID waiting for him. His photo was on it, too, which was surprising since he hadn’t gone anywhere to get one taken professionally.

Shit. I should probably check if there are cameras in the house. No way they’d let us just live here freely with a freebie like that.

He facepalmed and went on a walk.

He roughly remembered the way back to the city. He lived close to the outskirts, and while he had been in the sky, he had realized that the slums were only a couple dozen kilometers from his home.

They put us near the slums, but just within range of all the main city’s necessities. As it so happens, if I want to level up my class and skill, I need to heal people. The people with the most diseases are those who don’t have access to proper healthcare.

I also brought a kitchen knife just in case someone tries to mug me, but I hope it doesn’t come to that.

Since he wasn’t sleepy and had plenty of time to kill, Arthur hummed and began making his way straight toward the slums.
