Leaving the principal’s office, I walked straight back to my classroom. Before I even reached the door, I could hear the clamor inside.
The moment I pushed the door open, all noise stopped abruptly. Every eye in the room locked onto me.
The atmosphere instantly turned bizarre, as though no one recognized me anymore. Some looked at me with a trace of envy; some held a hint of confusion; while most stared with pure disdain—assuming I’d just blindly struck gold by sheer dumb luck.
Either way, I was intensely uncomfortable under such scrutiny, so I picked up my pace and headed straight for my seat.
Seeing there was nothing left to watch, the class gradually went back to their own business. To them, what had happened today was nothing more than a minor interlude—my solving a single problem hadn’t changed their original perception of me in the slightest.
Sitting back at my desk, I returned to having nothing to do. Once my tense nerves relaxed, sleepiness hit me fast—especially since I’d gotten less than four hours of sleep last night.
Just as I was propping myself on the desk, nearly drifting off, someone suddenly poked my arm.
I opened my groggy eyes to see Kozuki, my desk mate, calling for me.
Something was definitely wrong today. In my memory, this school beauty had never spoken a word to me. Even when I’d summoned all my courage to greet her first, she would just ignore me completely. Seeing her take the initiative to talk to me made my heart race with nervousness.
"Is something wrong?" I asked.
Hearing this, Kozuki stared at me for a long moment before speaking. "I really can’t see anything special about you. How on earth did you solve that problem today?"
Though she was asking for my guidance, her tone still carried an overbearing arrogance.
"I don’t know how to solve it," I answered honestly, ignoring her rude attitude.
"Hypocrite! Then who wrote all that stuff on the blackboard?" Kozuki scoffed disdainfully.
"I..."
That was a tough question to answer. I could hardly tell her that a goddess had been standing beside me, teaching me step-by-step. Doing that would get me hauled straight to a mental institute.
"Can’t explain, can you? Looking at you, there’s no way you could solve a problem that hard. You must have seen the solution somewhere before. Lucky you—getting treated like a treasure by the principal."
Kozuki felt a wave of intense jealousy. She was a top student, consistently ranking first in the entire school, yet the principal had never praised her like that. Meanwhile, a textbook slacker who slept through class every day and bottomed out every exam got lavished with praise just for solving one problem.
Unaware of her inner turmoil, I simply nodded repeatedly when I heard her words.
Her guess was basically close to the truth—except I hadn’t read the answer, someone had just taught it to me.
Seeing me actually nod in agreement—completely unfazed by her sarcasm, almost as if I were looking down on her—Kozuki glared at me angrily, turned away, and stopped talking to me altogether.
A moment later, our homeroom teacher returned to the classroom. After casting a brief glance at me without saying anything, the lesson began.
Before long, I was slumped on my desk fast asleep again. This time, the teacher left me alone, allowing me to sleep all the way until school was dismissed.
Back home, I tossed my backpack onto the sofa and went straight to my room to try fixing my broken computer.
The monitor was deformed, and the central processing unit gave off a burnt smell when I got close. Only a god could possibly fix this thing.
A god? Right—isn’t Athena a goddess? Why not ask her for help!
No sooner said than done. Following the method Athena had taught me, I gripped the bracelet on my left hand with my right and chanted in my head, "Goddess of Wisdom, attach!"
The bracelet immediately began to glow, and a moment later, Athena manifested right in front of me.
"Wow! It actually works! You popped out right when I called!" I shouted excitedly.
Hearing my burst of excitement, Athena barked angrily, "Are you playing me for a fool?! If you summoned me out for no reason, you are so dead!"
Frightened, I hastily explained, "No, no! I actually need your help with something!"
Seeing that she had successfully intimidated me, Athena smiled inwardly—this little brother of hers was quite fun.
Hearing that I needed her help, she raised a slender eyebrow and asked, "Well? Out with it. What is it?"
"Look, this computer is broken. Can you just wave your hand and fix it?" I asked in a low, timid voice.
"You’re treating me like a repairman? I am a dignity-bound goddess!" Athena declared displeasedly.
"No, how could I treat you like a repairman, Sister? Even a real repairman wouldn’t have the skill to fix this. If my mom finds out, my butt is going to get beat to a pulp. Sister, you’re so powerful—just take pity on my poor butt and fix it, please?" I pleaded. "Besides, you guys were the ones who broke it in the first place."
Athena’s face had been beaming with delight at my initial flattery. But hearing the last sentence, she exploded instantly: "It wasn’t me who broke it! Go find whoever did! And besides, why on earth should I take pity on your butt?!"
Her face flushed a delicate shade of crimson as she spat out the word "butt."
"Oh my, little brother, is Athena picking on you again? It’s okay, come to big sister. Big sister will pamper you."
Kavuri always appeared out of nowhere without a sound, scaring the daylights out of me.
"You slut, what are you coming out for again?!" Athena yelled in rage.
"It was boring inside, so I thought I’d take a little stroll! This isn’t your house—stop bossing everyone around." Kavuri paid no mind to Athena’s fury and continued her provocation.
"This is my brother’s house, why shouldn’t I?!" Athena was suddenly more than happy to claim me as her brother now.
"Tsk, is that any way to treat a brother? Making excuses over such a tiny request? Come here, little brother, come to big sister." Kavuri blew me a seductive kiss, smiling cheekily.
"You can... you can call me Fuitsu," I stammered, feeling a little terrified remembering that she was a vampire.
"Fuitsu-kun, why are you so scared of me? Weren’t we quite passionate on this very bed last night? Acting so distant today... you’re being so irresponsible," Kavuri said with a resentful pout. She wriggled her snake-like waist to approach me, but Athena stepped in to block her path.
The thought of last night’s "passion" made my face burn red all the way from my neck to my ears, my fingers curling nervously.
Seeing this, Kavuri burst into a fit of giggles. Her voluptuous bosom bounced wildly with her laughter, completely stealing all my attention.
Noticing that I was staring intently at her chest, Kavuri deliberately thrust it forward—and a jet of blood instantly squirted from my nose!
Seeing my nose bleed, Kavuri let out a dramatic gasp of fake shock. "Ah! Fuitsu-kun, what’s wrong with you?! You’re bleeding so much, quick, let me stop the bleeding!"
Taking advantage of Athena turning to check on me, Kavuri darted past her, grabbed my head, and pressed it forcefully into her chest. Once again, my head plunged into the exact same sanctuary it had visited yesterday.
What a nightmare... How is this stopping a nosebleed?! She’s clearly trying to make me bleed to death!
Seeing Kavuri wrapping her arms around me, Athena yelled furiously, "You slut, let go of him!"
Kavuri laughed out loud. "What’s the matter? Do you want a hug too? Just say so if you do! If you don’t speak up, how would I know?"
Despite her words, her arms didn’t loosen their grip around me at all.
"You..."
Hearing Kavuri’s teasing, Athena rolled up her sleeves, ready to pick a fight, her eyes ablaze with rage mixed with a hint of embarrassment!
Seeing Athena about to strike, Kavuri quickly yelled, "Oh? Sorry, my bad! Even if you wanted a hug right now, you couldn’t—because you don’t even have a physical body!"
