When Rhona Langley brought Seraphina Quinn into the private room, James Langley was already drinking with Gordon Warren.

To be precise, James Langley had already found two young models to drink arm-in-arm with Gordon Warren, while he stood to the side, cracking dirty jokes and egging them on.

But Gordon Warren showed little interest in the models.Full novel: Locked in Marriage: The Wife He Wronged Is Pregnant Again — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After one or two toasts, he was bored.

With a CLANG, he slammed his glass down.

“James, these two pieces of trash are less interesting than the young maid at my house.”

Just as he was speaking, Rhona brought Seraphina Quinn in through the door.

Seeing them, James Langley quickly leaned in toward Gordon Warren’s ear.

“Warren, those two were just appetizers.

The one Rhona brought is the real feast.”

As he finished, Gordon Warren followed James Langley’s gaze.

One look was all it took.

Gordon Warren’s eyes were glued to her.

He grinned, gave James a thumbs-up, and said, “I’m hard.”

James Langley’s only goal was the business deal.

In his eyes, profit was everything.

So he didn’t care if Seraphina Quinn lived or died.

All he wanted was the deal.

He lowered his voice and told Gordon Warren:

“She’s a top student, fresh and tender.

But she’s got a temper.

You have to simmer her slowly.

Don’t be hasty, or you’ll burn your tongue.”

Gordon Warren gave a knowing look, then shot James a meaningful glance.

After that, James beckoned to Seraphina Quinn.

“Quinn, come sit next to Warren.”

Seraphina Quinn had already caught the way Gordon Warren looked at her, as if he wanted to devour her whole.

Frankly, she was starting to regret this and wanted to back out.

“Ms.

Langley, I… I need to use the restroom.”

Rhona was a shrewd veteran; she knew the subtext of that sentence was ‘I want out’.

But things had already come to this.

Rhona certainly wasn’t going to let her go.

“I’ll go with you.”

Seraphina began, “Ms.

Langley…”

Before she could finish, James, sensing something was amiss, came over, yanked her toward Gordon Warren, and pushed her down into a seat next to him.

“Quinn, don’t be nervous.

It’s just a drink, a little chat with Warren.

Rhona and I are both here, what are you afraid of?”

Seraphina Quinn was truly beautiful.

Gordon Warren wanted nothing more than to rip that qipao off her right now, lick her from head to toe, then drip hot wax on her and watch her scream.

“Ah, Quinn.” You can’t rush good things—Gordon Warren at least knew that much.

“Don’t be nervous.

Red wine or white?”

Seeing that he was behaving himself for now, Seraphina Quinn’s tense nerves relaxed a little.

“Either is fine.”

Her voice was soft, making Gordon Warren’s heart itch with desire. Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.

“They say red wine for a beautiful woman.

Red wine it is, then.”

Gordon Warren personally poured Seraphina Quinn a glass of red wine.

“But you’re late, so you have to drink three glasses as a penalty.”

Seraphina Quinn looked back at Rhona, who nodded at her.

Seraphina figured Rhona wouldn’t hurt her, so she picked up the wine glass and downed three glasses in a row.

She had always been a good drinker.

The only time she’d ever gotten drunk was five years ago, on the beach where they were pulling wreckage from Damian Fairchild’s accident.

Other than that, she rarely got drunk.

But the human heart is unpredictable.

She trusted Rhona, but James Langley was a despicable man.

The red wine was drugged.

After just three glasses, Seraphina Quinn realized something was wrong.

An unbearable heat flared up in her lower body.

Realizing the wine was tainted, Seraphina Quinn made a move to leave.

“Sorry, I have to take a call…”

As she pushed herself up, weak and unsteady, she nearly collapsed.

But Gordon Warren’s greasy claws shot out, grabbing her by the waist and pulling her down onto his lap.

‘Damn, she’s so soft and supple!’

“Miss Quinn, are you drunk?”

“Langley, honestly.

Why didn’t you tell me earlier that Miss Quinn is a lightweight?”

James Langley caught Gordon Warren’s signal and quickly said with a fawning smile:

“My apologies, Warren.

Quinn is new to this; I guess her tolerance will have to be trained up slowly.” He paused.

“How about I keep you company?

We can have Rhona take Quinn upstairs to a room to rest?”

Gordon Warren replied, “Fine.

Show me the project proposal.

We’ll talk business first.

Next time, when Quinn’s tolerance is better, we’ll have a chance to drink together again.”

This was Gordon Warren’s signal to James: get Seraphina Quinn to the room upstairs, and he would pass the proposal on to his boss.

How could James Langley and Rhona not understand his meaning?

James, in particular, shot a look at Rhona.

“Rhona, Warren and I still have things to discuss.

Why don’t you take Quinn to rest first.”

Rhona’s conscience pricked her, but she was more afraid of the consequences of offending Gordon Warren.

She had no choice but to go over and lead the barely conscious Seraphina Quinn away.

Gordon Warren looked at the dark, wet patch on his pant leg, then gave James another thumbs-up.

“That drug is potent.

It’ll take all night to satisfy her.”

James Langley placed the project proposal in front of him.

“Your favor is Quinn’s good fortune, Warren.”

Gordon Warren looked down, licked the damp spot on his trousers, and then let out a wicked smile.

“Where did you find such a stunner?

Don’t tell me she’s got some powerful background that’ll be the death of me.”

What kind of background could she have?

She just got lucky with a pretty face.

If you like her, you can just pay her off afterward.”

With James’s reassurance, Gordon Warren was finally at ease.

「Elsewhere.」

As Rhona took Seraphina Quinn to wait for the elevator, Seraphina, who hadn’t completely lost consciousness, gripped her arm tightly.

“Ms.

Langley, you… you can’t do this to me…”

Rhona hesitated.

“Quinn, I’m doing this to help you.

You need money, and this is the fastest way to get it.

Don’t worry, once we land The Fairchild Group project, I won’t treat you unfairly…”

Seraphina Quinn bit her lip until it bled.

The pain cleared her head a little.

“The Fairchild… Group?

Damian… Fairchild?

I’m his ex-wife… You can’t do this.”

At these words, a cold dread washed over Rhona.

“What did you say?

You’re Mr.

Fairchild’s ex-wife?”

But her only answer was the sound of Seraphina Quinn collapsing, finally succumbing to unconsciousness.

Drifting in and out of consciousness, Seraphina Quinn was jolted awake by waves of sharp, stabbing pain.

The room was pitch-black, filled with a decadent and sordid scent.

The instant after the pain woke her, she tried to fight back, only to realize her hands were handcuffed, her mouth was sealed with tape, and the only things she could move were her eyes.

But she couldn’t see anything.

She could only judge by her other senses that she was on the bed of a hotel room, being violently assaulted.

She couldn’t scream.

Her struggles were useless.

Tears of despair streamed down her face.

To make matters worse, now that she was awake, all her physical sensations were infinitely amplified.

Amid the rocking motion, she actually…

The moment Seraphina Quinn thought that the one assaulting her was Gordon Warren… she felt that death would be a welcome release.

Despair and rage made her entire body tense to the extreme, which in turn made for a very poor experience for the man on top of her.

“Miss Quinn!”

Hearing him say “Miss Quinn,” Seraphina’s tense body relaxed for a moment, but it quickly tensed up again.

Her pupils contracted violently.

At the same moment the man ripped the tape from her mouth, the floor lamp by the bed flickered on.

“How can it be you?”

Seraphina Quinn stared in disbelief at the beads of sweat on the straight bridge of the man’s nose, at the deep lust hidden in his eyes, and at something even deeper… disgust.

“Weren’t you the one who begged me to fuck you?”
