Levi opened his eyes in confusion.
Everything around him was pitch-black, and all he could feel was the rope binding his hands tightly together, making it nearly impossible to break free.
He struggled to twist his body and felt himself bump into another person.
The other person instinctively shifted, then quickly went still again.
The endless darkness sank back into silence, an utterly terrifying silence.
Fear began spreading through Levi’s heart.
Had he been kidnapped?
He was still a young virgin.
Surely nobody had abducted him to force him into some unspeakable illegal business, right?
He was just an ordinary unemployed guy who spent most of his time doing nothing but hanging around internet cafés and playing League of Legends.
He had just achieved the glorious feat of spending thirty straight days and nights practically living at an internet café when everything suddenly went black.
By the time he woke up again, he had been tied up and brought to this godforsaken place.
With a creak, a wooden door was pulled open.
Blinding sunlight poured inside, forcing Levi, whose eyes had grown accustomed to the darkness, to squint.
It took him a while to adjust.
Fresh air drifted into the room, carrying a faint salty, fishy smell.
With the help of the sunlight, Levi finally got a good look at his surroundings.
More than a dozen people were crammed into the narrow room, all tied up just like him.
“Move it! All of you, outside.”
At the rough voice of a bald man wearing armor, several armed men dragged the prisoners out.
Levi cautiously stayed at the very back of the group.
Nobody dared try to escape, and the entire line remained deathly silent.
Levi glanced at the cold gleam coming off the blade of the man beside him, then at the strange clothes everyone was wearing.
He could only conclude that he had somehow been transported to another world.
What kind of world it was, however, he had no idea.
The moment they stepped onto the island, it was as if the sunlight had been cut off from the place entirely.
A cold, sinister presence radiated from somewhere deep within the island.
A richly dressed man accompanied by two attendants walked at the front of the group, holding a bouquet of roses in both hands.
The procession stopped outside the entrance to a dark cave.
The nobleman raised his voice and called out, “My dear Lady Elise, I’ve come to see you.”
Elise?
That name sounded awfully familiar.
As Levi was thinking about it, a voluptuous woman emerged from the cave.
Black leather clung tightly to her long, shapely legs and hugged every curve of her figure, while the daring cut of her outfit left much of her pale skin exposed.
Most striking of all was her full, heavy chest, her large breasts pushed prominently together by the tight leather, drawing the eye almost against one’s will.
The Spider Queen, Elise.
Her beauty seemed almost otherworldly, and her crimson eyes radiated a soul-stirring allure.
Levi froze for a moment.
Never in his life had he seen a woman this beautiful.
But the instant he remembered who she was, his mind cleared.
A deep, instinctive terror filled him.
“You. Come inside with me.”
Red light flickered in Elise’s eyes.
She said nothing more, yet the others seemed to fall into a trance and obediently followed behind her.
Levi wanted to run, but the moment he turned around, a gleaming blade was pressed against his throat.
The icy steel against his skin made him freeze.
With no other choice, Levi followed the group into the cavern.
God, please save me.
Give me some game-breaking superpower or something.
I don’t want to die here.
Levi silently prayed, desperately hoping to hear some miraculous notification chime in his head.
Nothing happened.
His nerves remained taut as he watched for any opportunity to escape.
The cave gradually widened.
Tangled webs stretched chaotically across the walls and ceiling.
Eventually, the group came to a stop.
Standing before them was an enormous, round-bodied monster covered in a hard shell.
Vilemaw.
The monstrous spider that had once served as the epic monster of the old three-versus-three Twisted Treeline map.
Levi knew exactly how powerful it was.
Eight scarlet eyes stared at the group.
Sickening green fluid dripped from its massive mouthparts.
With a terrifying shriek, a mass of webbing shot out and instantly wrapped around one of the attendants.
Within moments, the man had become food for the spider.
Severed limbs dropped from Vilemaw’s enormous jaws.
Watching the bloody scene unfold, Levi felt his stomach turn violently.
“You weak-willed fools. There’s nothing to be afraid of.”
The people who had been enthralled suddenly snapped awake.
They screamed and cried in terror.
Watching their panicked expressions, Elise giggled.
At that moment, her breathtakingly beautiful face looked to them like that of an alluring grim reaper, all traces of its previous charm replaced by terror.
“Lady Elise, why…”
The nobleman didn’t even get to finish his sentence.
Several spider legs suddenly burst from behind Elise’s slender waist.
In the blink of an eye, she transformed into a terrifying black spider and bit the man’s head clean off.
Everything happened in an instant.
Run.
That was Levi’s only thought.
Amid the chaos inside the cavern, Levi used every ounce of strength he had.
The desire to survive was the only thing keeping him going.
He didn’t dare look back.
Stumbling again and again, he finally saw daylight shining through the cave entrance.
Then came a sharp snap.
A mass of webbing shot through the air and shattered his final hope.
The web rapidly wrapped itself around Levi’s body until he was completely cocooned.
The resilient silk left him unable to move.
Then came the crisp click of high heels against stone.
Elise had transformed back into her human form and now stood over Levi as he lay helplessly on the ground.
She gently stroked his face, her sharp fingernail slowly tracing across his skin.
Her voice was soft and seductive.
“You’re quite unusual. You actually resisted my charm?”
The instant Elise touched Levi, a cold voice sounded inside his mind.
“Congratulations. Summoner Spells unlocked. Champion ability acquired: Elise, Cocoon.”
Tears of excitement immediately welled up in Levi’s eyes.
His damn cheat had finally arrived.
Apparently, all he needed to do was get close to a champion, and he could obtain one of that champion’s abilities.
It looked like he wasn’t going to die here after all.
“Hmm? Why are you so nervous? Relax.”
Seeing the tears in Levi’s eyes, Elise teased him with a smile.
Watching prey die while consumed by terror was one of her greatest pleasures.
“You know, you scared me because you’re such an old, ugly hag. I’m way too young to ever fall for some ancient woman like you.”
Levi had already formed a plan and sneered as he spoke.
Elise truly was breathtakingly beautiful, but admiring that beauty came with the rather steep price of one’s life.
Elise’s playful smile instantly turned ice-cold.
Rage gradually twisted her beautiful face.
Elise had always taken immense pride in her beautiful face and voluptuous figure, and she was exceptionally confident in the allure of both.
Levi’s insult completely destroyed whatever interest she’d had in toying with her prey.
The instant her anger distracted her, Levi activated Cleanse.
Blue light flashed.
The webbing around his body instantly dissolved, and even the ropes that had bound his hands disappeared with it.
Immediately afterward came a flash of golden light.
Flash.
In the next instant, Levi appeared several yards away.
“Damn you, little insect! You’re going to die in agony today. I think your head will taste delicious!”
Elise transformed into her spider form and launched herself into the air.
In the blink of an eye, she landed directly behind Levi.
“Cocoon!”
Levi roared as a strand of webbing shot from his palm.
It struck Elise dead center.
Her body was rapidly wrapped in thick webbing before crashing heavily onto the ground.
“Bye-bye, grandma!”
Levi shouted as he quickly fled into the distance.
“No! I’ll find you! You can’t escape!”
Elise shrieked in fury.
Several spiderlings began tearing at the webbing surrounding her, and the sturdy cocoon gradually started to loosen.
