A thin evening mist drifted across the expanse of the Weather Hills.

Yet, upon the highest peak, the darkness of the night never truly dared to approach.

There stood *Barad-Glinn Nim*.Full novel: Lord Of The Ring : Rise of Aetherion — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Amon Sûl was no longer a mere ruin of ancient stone lost to history; it had been reborn as the most magnificent White Citadel in the North.

White Castle Of Radiant

The setting sun pierced through heavy clouds, bathing the tiered fortress in a breathtaking golden hue.

From the valley below, where travelers passed, the citadel of silver-white stone appeared as if sculpted directly from pure marble.

Its defensive walls stood firmly along the steep cliffs of Weathertop, connected by arched stone bridges spanning deep chasms.

At the highest point of the citadel rose *Cala-Tirith*—a slender, towering spire reaching into the clouds.

At its pointed peak, a crystal carved with ice runes emitted a soft blue radiance.

This mystical light refracted across the hills, creating an invisible barrier that deceived the eyes of enemy scouts from afar.

At the heart of the central courtyard, where the air blew cool with the scent of the mountains, grew *Galad-Calyen*—the Great White Tree of ancient lineage.

Its silver trunk gleamed under the twilight, while its lush leaves cast a soft golden glow that never withered.

A crystal-clear waterfall, channeled from hidden stone conduits, cascaded beside the courtyard, carving through the lower cliffs and filling the air with a soothing melody of rushing water.

Arthur stood on the main balcony under the canopy of the White Tree, gazing across the eastern lands now under his protection.

His cloak billowed softly in the evening breeze, while the Ice sword at his hip hummed quietly, emitting a calm, frigid aura.

Beside him, Arandhir stepped forward silently, watching the crystal’s light at the top of the spire.

“Elaroin and the Builders have outdone themselves, My Lord” Arandhir said softly.

“Barad-Glinn Nim is no longer just a watchtower; it has become an eternal sanctuary.

From here, we can spot any shadow attempting to creep in from the Trollshaws or the Misty Mountains.”

Arthur nodded faintly, resting his hand on a branch of the White Tree.

“These white stones were forged not merely to withstand physical assault,” Arthur replied in a steady, resonant voice.

“They were raised to give hope to those who have lived too long in fear.

As long as Barad-Glinn Nim stands and this light shines, the North shall never fall into darkness.”

Far below the courtyard, the clear call of a bronze horn sounded to welcome returning patrols.

The golden light of dusk slowly faded, yielding the sky to a canopy of stars, yet Barad-Glinn Nim shone brightly atop the hill—a new crown of glory for the Realm.

Three months had passed since the battle at the Caves of *Zhar-Gij* and the integration of the *Gargor-Dun* Clan.

News of a rising power and the disappearance of hundreds of Gundabad Orcs beneath the cliffs of the Trollshaws spread like wildfire along the Great East Road.

Word of **Hîr-Helchmegil**—the Lord of the Ice Sword who reclaimed the eastern border—finally knocked on the doors of the most secret refuges in Middle-earth.

During these three months, through the System’s daily arrivals, Arthur’s forces grew steadily: 100 archers, 300 knights, and 50 cavalry joined his ranks.

In addition, 500 civilians arrived to work as farmers, gardeners, and livestock herders, alongside 20 blacksmiths and 20 healers.

*Galad-Calyen*, another reward from the System, had grown from a mere seed into the majestic White Tree in just ninety days.

crystal carved with ice runes emitted a soft blue radiance.

Is also Gift from the Sistem.

A new commander—an expert in stealth, tracking, and silent hunting whose detection skills surpassed even Elmir’s—also answered the call, bringing 50 elite scouts with him.

Valerin hailed from a hidden settlement in Northern Eriador.

After his village was destroyed by an Orc raid from the Misty Mountains, he had wandered the wilds leading his band of scouts, until a mysterious whisper guided him toward Amon Sûl.

One morning, a thick fog hung low over the encampment grounds of Barad-Glinn Nim.

Suddenly, the clear, melodic call of a silver trumpet echoed through the dawn silence.

It was no harsh Orc war horn, but a pure note that brought peace to all who heard it.

Out of the northern mist, ten riders emerged gracefully upon steeds that stepped silently over the damp earth.

The riders wore gleaming grey armor carved delicately like autumn leaves, shimmering beneath flowing navy-blue cloaks.

“Elven archers from the Hidden Valley,” Arandhir muttered, his eyes narrowing as he stood beside Arthur at the main gate.

A spark of recognition lit his eyes.

“That is the banner of the House of Elrond.

Emissaries from Imladris…

At the forefront stood a tall Elven warrior with long, flowing dark hair.

His face was fair yet possessed an ancient sternness—it was *Glorfindel*, one of the high lords of the Firstborn, feared by the forces of darkness.

Beside him rode a middle-aged Dúnedain noble wearing a silver cloak embroidered with an eight-pointed star: *Halbarad*, chieftain representative of the Rangers of the North.

Glorfindel reined in his horse ten paces from Arthur.

His bright, star-like eyes observed Arthur closely—noting the ice sword at the King’s hip, then shifting to Arandhir standing tall as a guard behind him.

With a fluid, graceful leap, Glorfindel dismounted, followed by Halbarad.

“Greetings, Arthur Vellinord, the *Hîr-Helchmegil*,” Glorfindel’s voice rang like a silver bell across the hilltop.

“Tidings of the ice blade that shattered the enemy in the Trollshaws and the peace you brought to the Gargor-Dun Clan have reached Lord Elrond in the Valley of Imladris.”

Halbarad stepped forward, lowered his hood, and offered a deep formal salute, crossing his arm over his chest in the tradition of the Dúnedain Rangers.

“The wanderers of the North have watched the eastern border, long rotting with Orcs, transform into a formidable line of defense under your banner, Your Majesty,” Halbarad said respectfully.

“We have come to see with our own eyes…

whether the tales of *Hîr-Helchmegil* at the Weather Hills are true, or merely a passing miracle.”

Arthur stepped forward, taking Halbarad’s hand and offering a polite nod to the Elven Lord of Rivendell.

“Your arrival is an honor, Lord Glorfindel, Halbarad,” Arthur replied calmly.

“What you see is neither magic nor a fleeting miracle.

It is the declaration that this land will no longer be left to perish in the grip of darkness.”

Arthur swept his cloak back and gestured toward the inner fortress.

“Welcome, Lord Glorfindel, Halbarad.

Let us host you beneath the shelter of these newly raised stones,” Arthur said, leading the way.

The heavy teak gates, reinforced with wrought-iron plates, lifted slowly with the rumble of massive iron gears.

Glorfindel and Halbarad stepped inside, followed by the Elven guards and Rangers leading their horses.

As their boots touched the white marble floor of the inner courtyard, Glorfindel looked up in awe.

High above, arched skybridges spanned the steep chasms, connecting the outer watchtowers to the main hall complex.

A crystal-clear waterfall cascaded down the lower cliffs, casting a soft rainbow under the morning sun.

“Even Arnor in its golden age rarely saw masonry so refined yet so sturdy,” Halbarad murmured, his eyes tracing the protective runes carved into the tiered walls.

“This place feels…

alive.”

“Not merely the stone, Halbarad,” Glorfindel remarked softly, his footsteps silent on the marble.

“The ancient magic of this land and the cold aura of the *Hîr-Helchmegil*’s blade have bound themselves into its very foundation.

This fortress rejects the darkness.”

The party walked through a high-columned colonnade into the central courtyard—a circular plaza open to the northern sky.

There, Glorfindel paused.

A cool breeze brought the fresh scent of the mountains as his gaze fell upon *Galad-Calyen*, the Great White Tree standing proudly at the center.

Its silver trunk shimmered, and its lush leaves radiated a soft golden light.

Glorfindel approached the White Tree, placing his slender fingers against its warm bark.

“A seedling from an age nearly forgotten,” Glorfindel whispered softly.

“Lord Elrond was right…

the light of the Eldar did not fade in the Weather Hills.

It shines anew.”

They moved to an open wooden table in the command hall, where rough sketches of the master defense plan were laid out.

Glorfindel’s sharp eyes instantly recognized the tactical genius behind the layout.

“You intend to seal the entire Weather Hills with four outer outposts?” Glorfindel asked, raising an eyebrow in genuine surprise.

“Amon Sûl has lain broken for centuries.

Since the fall of Arveleg I, no ruler has dared reclaim this hill openly due to the threat from Angmar and the Misty Mountains.”

Glorfindel looked directly into Arthur’s eyes.

“Lord Elrond sent me not only to deliver greetings, but also a warning.

Your rise at Zhar-Gij has drawn the gaze of old enemies in the Misty Mountains.

The Dark Powers will not allow Barad-Glinn Nim to stand unchallenged as a shield.”

“Once, we hid from Orcs like field mice.

Today, under the banner of *Hîr-Helchmegil*, we are the hunters.

If Rivendell doubts the King, then you have yet to see his Ice blade fell our enemies.”

Glorfindel offered a faint smile—a rare gesture of appreciation for the commander’s resolve.

“I came not to doubt, Commander,” Glorfindel said gently.

He turned back to Arthur and drew a scroll of white silk bound with silver thread from his robes.

“Lord Elrond sends this,” Glorfindel presented the scroll to Arthur.

“It is a pledge of alliance and a map detailing secret crossings along the Hoarwell River.

If you prepare to build these four outposts to protect Barad-Glinn Nim, Imladris will open trade, send master blacksmiths, and supply medical provisions for your garrisons.”

Halbarad knelt on one knee before Arthur.

“The Dúnedain of the North have wandered too long in the shadows without a throne,” he declared firmly.

“Seeing what you have built at Zhar-Gij and your courage in uniting the outcast tribes…

my 200 Rangers stand ready to pledge our blades to your service and help raise this Ring of Shields.”

Arthur accepted the scroll from Rivendell and helped Halbarad to his feet.

The soft blue glow of his sword’s scabbard flickered gently, as if welcoming the great alliance.

“With the aid of Rivendell and the loyalty of the Dúnedain,” Arthur declared, looking toward the four winds of the Weather Hills, “we begin a new chapter today.

Call the masons and prepare the stone.

We shall raise *Echoriath-Sûl*—the Ring of Shields that no darkness shall ever shatter!”

The morning sun illuminated the Weather Hills, burning away the remaining mist along the rocky slopes.

That day, the foundation stone for *Echoriath-Sûl* was officially laid.

The atmosphere across the region transformed completely.

The ring of hammers against granite, the hum of saws cutting thick teak wood, and the shouted orders of overseers echoed along the hillsides.

The defensive ring that was once a map sketch materialized into a masterpiece of military architecture.

The synergy of three factions—Arthur’s soldiers, Elven craftsmen from Rivendell, and Halbarad’s Dúnedain Rangers—created an extraordinary engineering force.

Northern Sector – Post Nordfall: Erestor, an Elven architect from Rivendell, directed interlocking masonry techniques to ensure the tower structures could withstand heavy catapult bombardment.

Atop the thirty-meter stone spire, Halbarad installed the *Beacon of Nordfall*—a massive signal brazier capable of piercing the thickest northern blizzards.

Eastern Sector – Zhar-Gij Fortress: The Gargor-Dun hunters, under the command of Arandhir and Boran, constructed trench networks fitted with Rivendell forged steel spikes.

Elven smiths forged heavy black iron gates for the main cave entrance, providing overlapping kill zones from three directions.

Southern Sector – Riverguard Post: Kaelan and Elaroin led the construction of concentric trench walls integrated with water moats fed by underground streams, tested directly against heavy infantry and Warg charges.

Western Sector – Chet-Gate Post: Designated as the medical and logistical hub, this post was built using teak wood and smooth stone bricks.

Its interior featured *Healing Wards* stocked with Imladris remedies and massive stone-roofed granaries.

Three full months of hard work passed.

Early anxieties gave way to certainty and security.

That evening, King Arthur stood atop the highest peak of Barad-Glinn Nim alongside Glorfindel and Halbarad.

From this vantage point, the four outposts of *Echoriath-Sûl* stretched majestically around the hill.

Stone walls stood firm, watchtowers pierced the rising fog, and silver banners bearing the frost blade of *Hîr-Helchmegil* snapped proudly in the wind.

Glorfindel observed the sight with quiet satisfaction in his Elven eyes.

“The union of Dúnedain stonework, Imladris artistry, and the resilience of the Gargor-Dun has forged a miracle upon this land, Lord Arthur,” Glorfindel whispered.

” *Echoriath-Sûl* is no longer just four watchposts…

it is the most lethal line of defense in all of Eriador.”

Halbarad drew his sword and pointed the tip to the ground.

“The people of the North finally have a true shield,” he said proudly.

“Fear shall no longer rule the night.”

Arthur rested his hand upon the hilt of his Ice Sword, feeling the steady hum of energy vibrating from the protected earth of the Weather Hills.

“The physical work is done,” Arthur declared, his voice echoing through the cold evening wind.

“Now, let our enemies in the Misty Mountains come and test the strength of our stone and the resolve of the guardians of *Echoriath-Sûl*!”
