“Turning paper into weapons?”

Why can’t my Trickmaster?”Full novel: LOTM: Demoness Sect’s Traitor — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Truman chuckled lightly and put away the glass bottle containing the Mystery Pryer Beyonder characteristic.

Through the dark bottle, one could faintly see wisps of crimson rippling within.

He picked up the limp paper draped over his neck and tore it into a thin paper strip.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Paper knives flew and embedded themselves in the Clown’s throat, brow, heart, and other vital points.

Although the paper knives had average power, combined with excellent throwing skill, they were enough to easily pierce the fragile skin of a human body.

“That’s still not safe enough!”

Truman watched the Clown still writhing in pain on the ground and drew a short, sharp dagger.

Sequence 7 of the Demoness pathway, the Witch, had preliminary mastery of black magic, allowing long-range curses to be cast through mediums like blood.

The Trickmaster had endowed Truman with the ability to learn various spells and spell-like abilities.

But the power of those spells was generally small, often failing to deliver a decisive blow.

Even though Truman could learn black magic as well, the curses he cast were far weaker than Trissy’s.

But what if he relied on external forces?

What Truman used as a curse source was the pre-packaged ‘Mystery Pryer’ Beyonder characteristic.

This Mystery Pryer characteristic had successively killed over a dozen hosts, ten of which were various pets with high spirituality that Truman had tried to raise.

It was through these repeated failures that Truman discovered the madness and spiritual residue contained within Beyonder characteristics could actually accumulate and stack.

Even for a Sequence 7 Magician, after his spirituality came into contact with the unique spirituality of the Mystery Pryer characteristic, which was filled with various mental contaminations, his supernatural power also fell into a moment of loss of control.

One clean stroke!

The Clown’s heavily painted head rolled to the ground.

The splattering blood sprayed across the floor, yet not a single drop could stain the gray robe Truman wore.

This showed just how skilled he was at decapitation.

After finishing off the Clown, Truman turned around and looked at Leonard, whose body was gradually becoming stiff and numb from Sealed Artifact 2-049.

Whoosh!

Another rope flew out.

This time it wasn’t as gentle as before—it firmly bound the delusional wannabe hero in a hogtie.

Weakness Curse!

Paralysis Curse!

Coma Curse!

To ensure absolute safety, Truman also applied several weakening curses to the six Nighthawks lying helpless on the ground.

Although these curses weren’t powerful individually, combined they were enough to temporarily restrain several injured Nighthawks.

After gaining control of the situation, Truman looked at the Antigonus family notebook buried among the pile of shattered flesh and blood.

“That was it?

Much easier than I expected.”

Truman raised his crystal ball and slowly approached the Antigonus family notebook.

…

Above the gray fog, Klein repeatedly performed divination using the complete pendulum method.

He opened his eyes and saw the pure yellow crystal driving the silver chain in a slow counterclockwise swing.

“Clockwise is affirmation, counterclockwise is negative.

Judging by the amplitude of the silver chain’s swing, returning to the real world carries some risk, but it’s worth attempting.”

Klein quickly made up his mind.

Although the divination concluded that returning to the real world at this moment carried some risk, that risk was relatively manageable.

And if he didn’t go back to check, he truly couldn’t rest easy.

Klein activated his spirituality, simulating the sensation of falling.

The hazy gray fog and crimson stars rapidly became illusory.

He opened his eyes and found himself tightly bound by ropes.

The moment Klein left the gray fog, a crimson star above the gray fog began to pulse and expand, glowing with red light.

…

Truman picked up the revolver left behind by Gravedigger Lorotta from the ground.

He used the pistol with some disgust as a shovel to dig through the flesh and blood debris.

“Strange, why isn’t there a Beyonder characteristic?”

Truman looked suspiciously at the corpse remains from which no Beyonder characteristic had precipitated.

If there was no Beyonder characteristic, how had it lost control?

How could it have single-handedly fought six Nighthawks?

“I’ve heard that besides the normal potion consumption method, there’s also a system called ‘Bestowal,’ where one can gain supernatural power by performing rituals to pray to some great existence!”

Truman recalled the supernatural knowledge the Saintess of White had casually shared with him during her afterglow, and his gray eyes looked at the Antigonus family notebook with extreme wariness.

“Since it can bestow supernatural power to believers, this notebook should contain powerful force, or it’s a medium connecting to some unknown existence—or perhaps both!”

Although Truman couldn’t confirm what the situation with this notebook was, he was absolutely determined not to touch it with his own hands.

“This is precisely the thing Mr.

Fool emphasized was dangerous and specifically warned me not to touch.”

Having easily convinced himself, Truman began silently praying to Mr.

Fool.

“Oh Fool who does not belong to this era.”

“You are the King of Yellow and Black who wields good luck.”

“Mr.

Fool, I have found the Antigonus family notebook, but I don’t have enough ability to retrieve it.

Do you have any instructions?”

Truman prayed for a while but received no response, which left him somewhat confused and puzzled.

“Does Mr.

Fool require special conditions to respond to me?

Or is He simply too busy to bother with me?”

Just as Truman was feeling uncertain, the astrology crystal ball in his hand suddenly flickered.

He instinctively turned around and locked eyes with Klein Moretti.

Truman looked at Klein’s brown eyes with some surprise—this guy had woken up from unconsciousness so quickly?

Then the other Nighthawks would probably be recovering some combat ability soon too.

It seemed time was running out.

Klein stared blankly at the gray-robed mysterious figure ahead who had bound all his teammates.

The overlapping murmurs in his ears.

The strikingly familiar divination crystal ball in the gray-robed figure’s hand.

The Antigonus family notebook not far before the gray-robed figure, and the other party’s appearance of wanting to take it but hesitating.

Case closed!

This was Mr.

Lovers from the Tarot Club.

Klein Moretti’s fellow alumnus.

“He wouldn’t be here to seize the Antigonus family notebook for Mr.

Fool, would he?”

Klein wore a face full of tears as he looked at the hesitant Truman.

He knew what the other party was worried about.

Because of Mr.

Fool’s specific warning, the other party believed the notebook contained fatal danger, and thus dared not touch it.

Klein guessed that the murmurs constantly ringing in his ears were ‘Mr.

Lovers’ trying to ask ‘Mr.

Fool’ for instructions on the next move.
