“Actually… I can’t, this time around.” Linda continued, “Because the only solution is to cut off all the brands that are not profitable, and…I am in no position to do that. Unless you want me to go against company protocol.”
Linda was not the CEO.
Big calls like killing entire brand lines weren’t hers to make.
Sure, she could approve new office coffee or sign off on a team lunch without running it up the chain.
But this?
Yu Yang looked up at her.
Her words made sense.
“Meeting. Now.”
Meeting room,
The room felt stiff and unexplainably cold.
As though they were in the middle of a snowstorm.
Everyone in the meeting room shrank as if the wanted to disappear off the face of earth.
But they couldn’t, since the demon Lord was watching.
Any attempt they make, he would destroy them completely.
The room was so though, even breathing was considered their strongest enemy.
With slightly shaking arms, Tony was able to pass Yu Yang the tablet he was holding, “This is our periodical evaluation chart. At the bottom, we have a list of brands in the bottom 30% of sales.”
“How many of them can we shut down?” Calmly sked Yu Yang, as if he wasn’t the cause of everyone’s fright.
“T-those underlined in red were in the bottom 30% at least thrice.”
Yu Yang looked up at him, his eyes as cold as revenge, “Thrice?”
Tony barely continued, “In principle they indeed should be shut down…b-but-”
“‘But’?” Yu Yang put down the tablet and slowly leaned back, “Why is there a ‘but’?”
Tony was too frightened by Yu Yang’s small movement he couldn’t answer a single question he was asked.
To prevent a blood bath, Miss Wu quickly spoke instead, “Our legal team refused.”
“Call in the team leader.” Yu Yang instructed.
“Right away, President Yu.” Mr.
Shang quickly walked out of the meeting room, shedding a slight tear of relief.
After that, the meeting room returned to it’s original nature.
Cold.
Freezing.
Intimidating.
After ten minutes passed, Mr.
Shang returned with the legal team leader, Mr.
Su.
“Mr. Su.” Yu Yang glanced at the man.
“Why can’t we shut down brands that are not profitable?”
“M-many of the brands invested millions in equipment.” Mr.
Su looked at Yu Yang.
“we can’t just kick them…out.”
“File an eviction suit.”
“We…won’t be able to win.” Mr.
Su looked slightly embarrassed, “The law has been revised many times to prevent large distributors from abusing their power.”
“We are not volunteers.” Yu Yang said fiercely.
“This is not a charitable association. Is it right to let them be when we are not getting our money’s worth for those expensive spots?”
Mr.
Su was quiet for a while, then, “The sales division excluded brands with low performance scores and we signed a long-term contract with the rest of the brands… suddenly throwing them out…don’t you think they might complain to the media or even sue us?”
Listening carefully, grasping what needed to be grasped, and thinking almost conscientiously, James let out what was in his mind.
“President Yu…I believe a more favorable solution will be to help improve their sales.”
The room went quiet once again.
Yu Yang raised a finger and pointed at him,
“You are fired.” He then looked back at Mr.
Su.
“Mr.
Su.” He called, “Did I ask for your opinion?
I am telling you to shut, them, down.
If they refuse file a lawsuit and win.
I believe that is your job.
And if you are tired of your job too, just like James, I can help you rest for a while.”
Su stared face pale at Yu Yang, knowing he might really lose his job, he had no choice but to agree with shutting down the brands.
He then thought to himself again, It’s Mr.
Yu anyways.
Who can sue him?
No one will even want to try.
Nevertheless, they won’t win.
He looked up at Yu Yang, “Yes, sir.”
“Meeting dismissed.”
Yu Yang walked out of the meeting room, and Linda followed carefully behind him, with a weird look on her face.
Her boss was so cool.
Few days later, Li Residence,
Today was the day Li Yeli was meeting with Yu Yang’s family.
With mixed emotions and uncertainty, she got ready.
she wore a white plain shirt, pairing it up with a black jacket and a black long skirt that reached her ankles.
There was a slit about five centimeters above her shin, her black hair was cascaded all the way down her back.
As she was walking out of the main house, she bumped into her little sister, Li Yue.
“You’re going to meet his family, dressed like that?” she sneered, sizing Li Yeli from head to toe.
Used to her infuriating behavior, Like Yeli could even feel annoyed.
“Can you move out of my way please?” She looked into Li Yue’s eyes.
“Where are you going? Mr. Yu isn’t even here to pick you up and you’re already outside waiting for him? Aren’t you afraid he’ll think you’re too desperate?”
Li Yeli pulled a long face, “Li Yue…get out of my way.” She shoved Li Yue to the side and resumed walking.
“You-you think you can get what you want? You have the guts! After what you did to me!”
Breathing in and out.
Li Yue screamed again, “My schoolmates made fun of me that I was limping!”
Li Yeli stopped walking, and without looking at Li Yue, she spoke, “You deserved it. Afterall I was bullied too.”
“And besides, I paid the price, didn’t I? I didn’t go to college; i was left far behind. Everything happened just as you wanted it to. Isn’t that enough for you?”
She turned to meet Li Yue’s eyes, “Li Yue, let me make something clear, this time around, I am going to win.”
“You-you! You’re not as perfect as you think you are!” Li Yue stomped on her feet.
