Time slowly ticked its way all through the rest of the day.
Already the group of three seated at the table was done eating and were currently having a peaceful conversation, cracking a few jokes once in a while just to keep the atmosphere warm.
At this moment Katie got a call which was from her boyfriend, seeing it she decided to go and take it, stepping out of her seat and walking towards the restroom.
All through the hours spent here, Bel and Steve had shared a conversation but it was all stirred by Katie.
Who was the center between the both of them, with her not around anymore the atmosphere around the table became quiet.
Though Bel had been preparing to leave herself still leaving without telling Katie was kinda off, causing her to wait for her.
She became relaxed on her seat, casting her gaze all over the dining area of the hotel.
Taking in the scenery of the fancy looking lights at various angles on the walls, the impressive chandelier hanging from the top and the glass walls at the edge leading to a terrace at the dinning area.
Darting her gaze from there she seems to have caught something or rather someone!
Stepping out of the terrace in a vintage black suit.
He was tall, dignifying and very hot.
His presence was enough to draw people’s gaze around him and he seems to have sensed a particular gaze from someone which was lingering on him longer than the others.
Turning around, he looked in her direction where the gaze was coming from and their eyes met.
Her heart skipped a beat, only just with an eye contact.
She felt the urge to march up to him and demand an explanation why he hadn’t responded to her messages yet…
With that thought, it became an instantaneous reflex as her feet spanned into action and began walking towards him.
” Ummm…
excuse me!
” Bel managed to say this much before darting from there.
The man on the other side where she was headed kept his gaze on her, seeing how she was keen on coming after him.
Though he was amidst a conversation with two other men, which she saw and still kept walking towards him.
At that moment, a girl approached him and whispered something in his ears; standing very close to him.
She had an air of confidence around herself; the way she approached like they both came together.
Seeing this caused Bel to halt on her step, but seeing the girl standing very close to him and now he didn’t make an effort in placing a distance between her, she was forced to think twice.
‘ Maybe they were both on a date!
‘ with a disappointed look on her face, she stepped back.
Drawing away from him while leaving the dining area.
Here she thought maybe he could be different!
Since she had never felt this intrigued to know a man.
Or maybe she was the third wheel in his relationship.
Either way Bel gave a sigh, not knowing where she was heading to just walking.
Unbeknownst to her, a person was following after her.
Back at the dinning table, Katie returned with her phone in her hand.
She saw her cousin as usual going through the iPad on his hands, with no presence of Bel around.
” Steve…did you know where Bel went?
” Taking a seat of her own.
” She seems kinda going after someone…” Steve said uncertain of the details himself.
” Someone?
Who could she see here and be going after?
” Katie felt perplexed.
” Let me try calling her…” She pulled out her phone and tried calling Bel.
The call went through and it rang for a couple of seconds before it got abruptly disconnected.
” This is strange!
” Katie remarked feeling a sense of dread.
She tried calling again and it wasn’t connecting.
” Did you by chance see her going with someone?
”
” Not really…
she only stood up and started walking in that direction…” He pointed towards the glass walls.
” But that’s the terrace!
Does the terrace here have a bad reception?
” Katie asked knowing that can’t be possible.
Her cousin seems unsure himself, Katie stood up and darted towards the terrace in search of her.
Soon she returned back with a scared look on her face.
” She’s not there!
” Katie said, her face turning white from worries.
” Are you still trying her cell?
” Steve asked, putting his iPad down.
He was starting to feel a sense of foreboding.
” Yes…and I don’t know what to do now!
” Katie uttered in exasperation.
” Alright.
Let’s go over to the receptionist and ask if they had seen her leaving.
” Steve suggested, standing up from his seat and placing a hand on Katie’s arm.
” Katie nods, though she knew Bel won’t act like that but right she just wasn’t certain what was right and what wasn’t right.
Without wasting much time, they hurried towards the receptionist who was at the entrance of the hotel.
” Miss…did you see the girl who walked in with me awhile ago?
”
” Ummm…miss I’m sorry you would have to be more detailed with your description.
” The woman said sounding unsure, after all she had seen a lot of people come in and out of the hotel all through the day.
” Ummm…
she’s tall, not very tall…a green dress with blonde wavy hair!
” Katie describes.
” I’m sorry Miss.
I’ve seen lots of girls and women with such descriptions…I can’t say for certain.
” The woman said.
” Ok I know, I am asking much!
But you saw her awhile ago…when I came out and handed my table reservation to you!
She had a green slip dress on.
” Katie explained feeling her patience running thin.
” I’m sorry…I’ve not seen her come out from when she went inside with you.
” The woman answered.
Looking straight into Katie’s eyes without fidgeting in her words.
” Well then how do you explain her going missing!
And we were the only persons she knew here.
” Katie banged at the woman’s desk getting aggravated.
” Miss…
please calm down!
They are still others guest inside having a meal.
I assure you I’ve not seen her step out of the dining area.
” The woman was now distressed, clearly trying to calm the raging Katie.
” Katie calm down!
Miss can we ask your security team to try searching around for her?
Besides we are certain she knew no one around here.
” Steve stepped forward placing an arm on Katie’s shoulder.
” Alright sir.
I would give them the details and ask them to search for her!
” The woman assured before placing a phone call on the telephone at her desk.
