A few days after the recruitment notice was posted, a home tutor who was reportedly a veteran Adventurer arrived at our home.

I expected someone like Gandalf, an old man with a pointed wizard’s hat.

Or perhaps a middle-aged man who had taken an arrow to the knee and ended his adventuring career early.Full novel: Luna Tensei: The Crimson Queen’s Journey — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

To my surprise, it was a tiny girl with two braided pigtails who looked like a middle schooler.

She was dressed like a wizard, though, wearing a pointed wizard’s hat, holding a long staff, wearing a grey Magician’s robe with a convenient pouch at her waist, and white boots on her feet.

“Nice to meet you.

I am Roxy Migurdia, here for the home tutor position.”

The whole family was stunned, and so was I.

Is this some kind of genius girl?

With water-blue hair, fair skin, a cute sleepy face, and a tiny body, she gave off an extremely delicate and adorable impression.

But she’s not my type.

I prefer women with figures like Zenith or Lilia.

“Um, hello.

Where are the students I am to teach?”

The little tutor looked around, seemingly not noticing Rudy and me being held in Paul and Zenith’s arms respectively.

“It’s these two.”

Zenith gestured that Roxy’s students were Rudy and me.

“Hello, Teacher.” I waved at the little tutor from Zenith’s arms.

The blue-haired Roxy looked at Rudy and me, then sighed and massaged her forehead.

“There are always these foolish parents lately who think just because their children develop a bit early…”

As soon as she said ‘foolish parents,’ Zenith’s expression began to sour.

Well, since Rudy and I are reincarnators and not actual children, it’s natural for Roxy to think that way, but it’s not good if she angers Zenith.

She really is young; her arrogance in her own talent makes her speak so recklessly.

Little Teacher, you’re still too young, too naive.

Whoosh!

A water ball flew right past the little teacher’s body.

“!” She didn’t have time to react.

She looked at me, then at the water stain on the courtyard wall.

Whoosh!

Another one.

This time she saw it clearly; it was a water ball I had released.

“Eh?

How did you do that?” Roxy’s expression was one of extreme shock.

Heh, I’d be shocked too; a three-year-old girl using magic is quite extraordinary.

“I don’t know either.”

Rudy and I really didn’t know.

He was self-taught, and I learned from him.

Neither of us had any systematic training in magic.

“Hmph, how about that?

Our Luna-chan is a genius, right?

Rudy, you show Roxy-chan too.”

“Okay.”

Rudy raised his hand and fired a water ball as well, hitting the wall dead center.

It was much more precise than mine.

“Can you both use Chantless Casting?”

Is Chantless Casting some kind of high-level ability?

Rudy and I exchanged looks, not understanding Roxy’s thoughts.

Then Roxy set down her pack and staff, grabbed Zenith’s hands, and said with an extremely serious expression, “Please, let me stay here and teach.”

“Mhm, very well, Roxy-chan.

Then stay with us!”

Zenith was very happy.

The performance of her genius children naturally made her proud, so she casually ruffled Roxy’s hair.

“Um, please don’t do that.”

Roxy’s face turned beet red, likely because she wasn’t used to being treated this way by a motherly woman like Zenith.

It probably made her feel a mother’s warmth.

Thinking about it, she’s probably only around fourteen.

Venturing out so young to become an adventurer, she must have experienced many hardships.

I imagine the pay our family offers is quite generous.

Even if it weren’t, it would still be better than the rough life of an adventurer sleeping outdoors…

???

However, it seems I overthought it.

The little teacher is thirty-seven years old this year.

She isn’t human—it turns out there are other races in this world.

I’m such an idiot.

This is already a fantasy world with supernatural powers, so of course there would be other races.

She stayed at our house for many days.

During the day, she taught Rudy and me about magic; at night, she taught us other things, like the races of the world, geography, culture, and world history.

From this, I learned just how big this world is.

Our region is called the Central Continent, and the other continents are the Millishion Continent, the Becalit Continent, and the Demon Continent.

Roxy is a Demon from the Migurd Race on the Demon Continent.

Their average lifespan is over 200 years, but their physical appearance stops at around middle-school age.

It seems the Migurd Race has another ability, but Roxy didn’t mention it, looking like it was something difficult to talk about.

I get it; it’s probably a secret racial skill for life-saving moments, like some kind of innate treasure.

…

“Ah, God.”

Inside the room was a dim oil lamp.

Roxy was using the faint light to help us with our lessons.

But that guy Rudy seemed to have a special fascination with Roxy’s body, keeping his head down to peek at the view under her skirt.

Truly disgusting.

However, Roxy didn’t seem to care.

He’s just a three-year-old kid who hasn’t even grown hair yet; she let him look as he pleased.

“Alright, tonight’s lesson is over.

I’m going to sleep.”

Roxy closed her book and began packing up to go to bed.

“Rudy, time to go back.”

“So cruel…

Why wasn’t I born a girl?” Rudy knelt on the floor, looking full of resentment.

“Don’t claim to be a girl only when it’s convenient for you, okay?”

The reason Rudy said that was because the house hadn’t cleared out a room for Roxy yet, so she had been sleeping with me these past few days.

Of course, Paul and the others had considered what to do if the tutor were a male adventurer—either I’d sleep with Lilia, or I’d sleep with Rudy.

I could agree to the former, but never the latter.

Roxy, wearing her pajamas, hugged me like a doll.

Her body was soft and carried a faint fragrance.

“Goodnight, Luna-chan.”

“Mhm, goodnight, Roxy-sensei.”

In the middle of the night, I was woken up by the sounds of Paul and Zenith ‘exercising,’ and I also felt the urge to use the bathroom.

However, when I opened my eyes, Roxy wasn’t in bed.

Did she go to the bathroom too?

After going to the bathroom and coming back, I found Roxy had returned to bed.

“Roxy-sensei, where did you go?”

“No—nothing.

I just went to the bathroom.”

“Eh?

I went too, but I didn’t see you.

Also, why is your face so red?”

“It’s nothing.

Go to sleep, Luna-chan.”

Roxy was acting evasive, as if she’d done something guilty.

What could she possibly be doing in our house?

Oh~ maybe she got hungry in the middle of the night and snuck some food.

Whatever.

Although this little teacher is quite old, her mental age seems to be only in her teens.

Is this a case of the body influencing the mind?

Lately, even I’ve gotten used to acting cute to get favors from Paul and the others.

It really is the body influencing the mind.

???

A few months later, Rudy’s and my magic skills had improved significantly, all thanks to Roxy’s guidance.

Not only that, she also taught us many other things, like how to not look like a child, how to use our small stature to quickly blend into a crowd, and how to use a youthful appearance to trick people into sympathy.

Overall, Roxy is very knowledgeable; I heard she’s been to many places.

Her lessons aren’t boring at all; she’s very suited to being a teacher.

One day, Roxy looked at me as I lay powerlessly on the ground and asked with concern…

“What’s wrong, Luna-chan?”

“Nothing, I’m just looking for Roxy-sensei.”

“I’m not that small!”

It seemed that’small’ was a forbidden word for Roxy, much like how you can’t mention height to a dwarf, or you’ll end up being recorded in a book of grudges.

“I’m not teasing you, Roxy-sensei.

Actually, I’ve run out of mana.”

“It seems you weren’t born with as much mana as Rudy.”

Roxy sighed with self-assurance; because the Magic Encyclopedia stated that a person’s mana capacity is innate, she naturally believed it to be so.

“Roxy-sensei, that’s actually not right.

It’s not that I was born with less mana than Rudy, but that I haven’t trained my mana capacity as much as he has.

Mana can be trained just like muscles.”

“Haha, how could that be?

I’m telling you, Luna-chan, everyone’s mana capacity is decided at birth.”

Roxy still felt her own theory was correct, but after actual training later on, she would discover that mana capacity indeed increases.

Rudy overheard our conversation and confidently presented his own theory to Roxy, insisting it was correct.

“Roxy-sensei, I think what’s written in the Magic Encyclopedia is wrong.

Mana can definitely grow, but it might be like a person’s height—it stops growing at a certain age.

I have the actual results from my training to prove it.”

Rudy acted like he was showing off in front of a girl he liked; perhaps he really admired having such a beautiful young teacher.

Hearing this, Roxy toyed with her braided hair while she thought.

After spending these days together, I noticed she liked to fiddle with her braids whenever a problem arose, much like how Ikkyu would sit in meditation to think.

“Hmm, we can’t reach a conclusion yet.

After all, examples like you two are too rare.

If you have the chance to attend the Magic University in the future, perhaps you can find the answer there.”

Magic University?

So such a place really exists in this world.

According to Roxy’s explanation, the Magic University is located in the Ranoa Kingdom on the Northern Central Continent, within the Magic City of Sharia, which was jointly built by the Three Great Magic Powers.

Is this an isekai version of an Academy City?

Is the city’s security handled by the Student Council?

Are there disciplinary committee members?

From that day on, Rudy firmly remembered the Magic University.

Because he heard that Roxy intended to go there as a teacher in the future, he planned to attend school there—both to see Roxy and to learn more magic.

“Doesn’t Luna want to go?”

“Not for now.

I want to become an adventurer in the future.”

I did indeed have that plan: to become an adventurer, clear dungeons, and make money.

Things like the Magic University weren’t within my scope of interest.
