The mage responsible for the spatial space where the students were currently racing was in the same room seated on a comfortable chair with her eyes closed as Mana radiated from her body.
Freya’s sister sat beside her with one of her hands on the mage and by touching her and connecting with her Mana Freya’s sister could watch the students but she stopped as Selena and Maria walked in.
"The students this year are really promising, and I’m sure you already know of the male this year, I have to say he’s slightly powerful for a male" she muttered.
"Really, I heard you made the race longer so the students could fight themselves, isn’t that a bit harsh, most of them might gang up and eliminate even stronger students" Maria muttered.
"You are as soft as ever Maria, but just in case you don’t know, I made the students fall prey to my words, the finish line for the race is immediately after the forest, if the students run at full speed and can defeat the stone golems that were created, then they pass" She smiled.
"That’s even harsh, so which of them is the most interesting" Selena asked as she brought a chair and sat down, then the three of them touched the mage sitting down and immediately appeared in one of the spatial spaces.

These words stuck in Ethan’s brain and subconsciously he began to move backward, not necessarily because he was afraid but because the girl in front of him had all the advantage.
She had earth magic, and both of them were currently standing on the ground so she could easily capture him and soon she made her first move.

"Shit, Advance Barrier" Ethan shouted as the stones flew towards him with precise accuracy.

Ethan had no time to create his advanced barrier so he quickly created a simple barrier and used his sword to block the attack sending him a few meters back as he landed on the ground.
"Ouch..." Ethan groaned in pain as he looked at the figure who he had now discovered was Crystal rushing towards him.
’How the hell is she able to see in that thing’ Ethan mumbled as he quickly stood up.
"So you have barrier magic, that’s how you were able to dodge my first attack, now that all your surprises are gone let’s see how you fare" Crystal shouted.
’Wind doesn’t work well against earth and that’s my last surprise, I still have one more, let’s see if it can make a difference’

Ethan muttered as a whip made of flame materialized in his hands and he swung it towards Crystal who was running at him.
Crystal continued charging toward Ethan and when the whip hit he could see why, it didn’t cause any damage to her and once again she was in front of Ethan but this time he didn’t create any barrier instead he was going to use his last resort.
’This is the end’ Crystal thought as she hurled everything she had at him.

Ethan stretched his hands forward and cast his wind gust creating enough wind and since Crystal was close to him the wind pushed her backward a little and pushed Ethan backwards.
"What!! He also has wind, how is...Huh!!" Crystal stopped as she saw Ethan running away.

’Wait what!! so the lightning girl has reached the finish line, it hasn’t even been thirty minutes, and the instructors...wait, the instructor was trying to get us to battle without actually sticking to the race, I’m sure the finish line is just after the forest’ Ethan muttered as he ran as fast as his legs could take him.
