ANGEL
My gaze darted frantically, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings.
The walls of the room were pristine white, contrasting the pastel pink of my own bedroom.
The furniture was minimal: a double-sized mattress on which I was lying, a dresser, and a chair in one corner.
Confirming my own kidnapping was a whole new kind of devastation, and fear. I was spiralling into another crisis mode. I’d wanted the blindfolds off, now it felt like an awakening.
In the dark, I could somewhat convince myself that it was all a nightmare, but now, the reality of my situation hit harder.
"I hope you like it, since it’s going to be your home. . . Well, our home,"
Our?
No way!
Those words physically made me sick. Nausea rose in my throat.
I was already scanning for an escape route; there were two doors—the smaller one I assumed led to the bathroom, and the larger one... outside, maybe? The question was where the fuck was I?
My eyes snapped back to Damien. He hadn’t moved, hadn’t even blinked. He just stood there with his bulky arms crossed over his chest, watching me with that intense focus that made me want to jump out of my own skin.
The questions escaped like a flood "Why are you doing this? To torture me? You want me for sex? Is that why you kidnapped me? D-do you even know what you’re doing? It’s not too late, let me go now, and I won’t tell a-anyone, I swear, no one has to know about it."
It was a fucking lie, but right now, I’d say anything that would get me the fúck out of here.
I failed to convince him apparently because his eyes only sharpened with a cold look of irritation.
"I’m going to say this just once. So don’t forget."
He grasped my jaw. His fingers weren’t hard, not gentle either. Just firm enough to let his next words pierce chill into my bones.
"Your old life is gone. Angel Hale is dead. From this moment on... You are only what I want you to be."
Confusion sparked through me, I wasn’t dead, what did he mean by my old life is gone? My mind was flooding with thoughts that zeroed in on one conclusion.
"You fought with Daddy last time, right? Did you kidnap me to seek revenge on him? Is using me against him your intent? You’re betraying your best friend?"
"On the contrary, I’m helping him," Damien smiled, but his eyes stayed blank in that frightening way.
"Helping him?" I echoed with disbelief.
"So many questions. I suppose I can answer a few of them, so we are clear,"
He released his grip on my chin, standing at his full intimidating height again.
"First, I didn’t kidnap you, I just ensured your smooth cooperation without having to deal with your annoying tantrums."
I scoffed, he didn’t kidnap me? Sure. Right. Kidnapping didn’t include drugging, tying me up and assaulting me.
"As I’m preparing you, this means that you’re under my care. This also means that you’re mine. For now anyway," He shrugged.
The words and the calm conviction in his voice had me tensing, "Prepare me? For what?"
He didn’t answer.
"Make yourself clear, Damien!" I snapped. His eyes narrowed, cutting into my skin like cruel knives. My heart skipped to my throat.
"I suppose your titties aren’t red enough, want me to slap them some more?" He taunted.
I shook my head, my eyes unwillingly glanced down at my abused body and I swallowed back a cry. My nipples which were usually pink were now bruised red, they were fucking hurting.
I could very well see his teeth marks, he’d left those imprints like a wild creature. I still felt the phantom roughness of his beard that had scratched my skin like a brand.
And this bastard, he looked smug about it, I wanted to wipe off that satisfied glint in his eyes. "Then, I suggest you watch that mouth, fuck knows I’m itching to hurt you,"
My lips tightened, tears burned, anger and helplessness kindled in my blood.
After what he’d done, he was mad because I used his name?
what about the pain he had caused me? He belonged in a psyche ward!
I hated him so much that I could die... and myself too, that I was obeying him like this. That one glare from him would make my throat silent. This wasn’t me. He was killing me. I wasn’t one who got tormented easily, I always possessed all the control, how did Damien strip me bare of everything in just a few hours?
My face flooded with heat, and the anger escaped before I could control it, "If this is your care, I don’t need it! I don’t need anyone to take care of me. Especially, not you!"
"Apparently, your precious Daddy doesn’t think so," His eyes pinned mine "Vin wanted me to train his rotten little brat in all the ways he’d failed to. He even pleaded with me to do this," Damien was smirking now while my inside roiled violently with disbelief. "So your every tears, every mark on your skin, and everything I’m going to do to you, Daddy dearest has already approved it,"
My heart was convulsing. Was he saying Daddy put him up to this?
"You’re lying! Can you even hear yourself?!" I sneered, conviction lacing each word.
"You’re not usually smart, but I believe you can certainly think about it, Angel. Without your good Daddy’s permission, do you think I would be able to take you? You know the answer to this better than anyone."
No.
I shook my head, my lips trembling but no words came. Every part of me rejected those words. How could it be true? It simply didn’t make sense at all.
Damien kidnapped me and was trying to play these mind games with me. Did he think he could ever turn me against Daddy?
But... Wait.
Thoughts poured through my mind, one that spread the trembling from my lips to my whole body in a cold rush.
That night at the club, I certainly remembered that Daddy’s men had followed me there. I’d even seen one of them at the entrance.
How did Damien escape after drugging me? Did none of them spot me? I’d been screaming when Damien had violently crushed Kevin’s neck, my voice had been loud enough, didn’t any of them hear?
Something wasn’t right.
My blood was starting to roar in my ears again like a hurricane, my breath came out short and fast, panic clawing at my throat like angry fists.
I fought to stay calm.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Exactly how Daddy taught me to deal with the panic when the nightmares came.
I clenched my fists against the sheets and steeled myself.
There had to be some other explanation. Maybe Damien had tricked them, or who knew, those bodyguards were traitors along with Damien.
Daddy wouldn’t.
why else would he tell Martha to pack my things, he’d also told me that he’d already booked a flight. He’d kissed my head and told me he loved me, he was the person who adored me most in this world. Why would he do this?
