As I continued eating the food, the taste was something that I can’t even explain.
It was very delicious when I started eating it but now the taste was something else, I knew it was from the food.
My taste buds had changed after what just happened.
“Seems like you are not hungry, anymore?” He asked.
“Yes, father,” I replied.
“Then let’s go,” he said and then stood up.
I stood up too and followed him as he walked out of the restaurant.
“Wait, wasn’t he going to pay for the food?” I thought.
As we walked towards the door I thought that the waiter would run to us demanding the money.
But that didn’t happen, so we left the restaurant and walked to the car.
When we got closer the driver’s door opened and the driver came out, the place where he was stabbed was where the bed by the Kingpin had been bandaged.
He opened the door for us and Carter’s father entered and I followed him.
“Make sure you don’t try that stupid thing you did that time” he warned the driver when we had settled down.
“Yes Boss, I will never try it again” the driver acknowledged.
“Drive us home then”
The driver started the car and drove away, my mind drifted back to what happened at the restaurant.
There was one question currently disturbing me, “how did the Kiknown know about the contract marriage?”.
Was it Rodrigo?, no I don’t think it was him, he can’t betray Carter”.
“You might be wondering how I knew about the contract right?”
I turned to him, the man is also a mindreader, “well I have my ways with stuff like that, getting information is not a big deal for me” he replied.
“My eyes will be on you so don’t try anything stupid” Fathered.
“Yes father” I replied, praying in my mind that we should just reach the house.
I needed to be very far away from the man, he said that his son was worse than him but I don’t think so.

“Get up Abigail, we are home” I heard someone say, shaking me gently.
I opened my eyes and stood up, “we are home” the Kingpin repeated.
The door was opened by the driver and we got out and walked into the house.
“Welcome back, my lovely husband” The Kingpin’s wife greeted us when we entered the living room.
She was there with her son, Roman, who I noticed was staring at me intensively.
I met his gaze and he smirked at me, licking his lips after which he blew a kiss at me.
Gosh, I nearly puked.
What the hell is wrong with him?
“Was he trying to hit on me or what?
He is trying to hit his brother’s wife?” I wondered in my thoughts.
No one in this family is sane, even though the wife has not shown anyone but I knew that there was some crazy bit in her brain.
After Kingpin brought the hug with his wife, she glanced at me then and back at her husband as if she wanted to say something but didn’t know how to.
“Um, there is something I need to tell you.
Carter was in an accident now and he had been hospitalized” she said.
“What did you just say?” I asked.
“He..’
“Please tell me about the hospital?” I interrupted, my voice laced with fear and worry.
She told me about the hospital and I rushed out immediately, the driver that brought us home was about to take the car to the garage.
“Stop !” I yelled rushing to him.
He stopped and ambled down the window, “Please I need you to take me to Good Health Hospital, my husband has been hospitalized there” I pleaded.
“OhmOh modes, hop in Madam” he replied.
I opened the back seat and got in immediately, “please wear your seatbelt, ma.
I did as he instructed and he reversed the car and drove out of the residence at a very high speed.
“Please slow down, you don’t want me to end up in the hospital too do you !” I snapped at him.
“Sorry miss,” he apologized and reduced the speed to a normal pace”.
We arrived at the hospital and I rushed inside immediately, “please I need to see my husband, he was hospitalized here” I said to the nurse in the reception
“Husband?At this rate I might bite my tongue while saying it”, I thought.
“Who is your husband’s?” She asked.
“Carter Snow,” I replied.
She turned to the computer and started searching for the name.
After a while she turned to me, “Sorry Miss but you can’t see him” she said.
“And why is that?” I demanded.
She glared at me from head to toe before saying, “Mr Carter doesn’t have a wife so please leave now”.
“I am not leaving until I see him and you are going to show me his room or else…”
“Or else what?.
You can do anything, well if you are his wife why didn’t you act like that, a wife of a man like that would look so confident and commanding but you are just looking like a normal woman” she interrupted.
It took me all of my willpower not to slap her and spat on her.
Another nurse came and called her so she turned around to attend to her.
I shifted immediately and glanced at the monitor, thankfully the stupid girl was still in the name first so I got my husband’s room number immediately.
I immediately walked towards the hallway searching for the room but the one I was seeing was in ed.
Carter’s room was 200 and the ones I was seeing were just between 100 and 110.
There was a cleaner I saw coming out from one of the rooms so I went to her.
“Please where is room 200 located?” I asked.
“It is upstairs, just walk a few steps you will see an elevator on your right.
Enter it and it will take you upstairs” she replied.
