Carter held my hand and started leading me out of the house, I spared one look at Roman who was still sitting at the couch.
His face looked pale and he was just staring at space, probably shocked by what happened.
We left the house and entered a car, I realized that it was the car that we came with.
“Congratulations” I said.
He totally ignored me and instead ordered the driver to drive.
“Thank you” I muttered to myself and then closed my eyes.
I heard the car start and then moved away speeding towards the road to Carter’s mansion.
“Congratulations!” I said to him as we drove home.

I took deep breaths and looked out of the window.
I closed my eyes hoping that when I opened them back that I would be in our living room watching television with my father.

That was the end of our conversation till we reached the house and got out.

Getting up from the bed I walked to the balcony staring at the ground floor.

Just then I heard a knock on my door, “who could that be?” I wondered as I walked towards the door.
A maid was standing outside looking around nervously, I noticed her right hand trembling.
“Are you okay?” I asked.

“Okay, I will come down shortly” I assured and closed the door.
I walked to the wardrobe and changed the outfit that I was wearing and then went downstairs to the dining room.
On reaching there, I opened the door and walked in only to see that Carter was already seated at the table eating.
“You always take your time,” he remarked.
I didn’t answer him but instead went closer to the table and sat down too.
One of the maids standing by the side came and started dishing out food for me.
“My father will be handing his empire and companies to me tomorrow so bear it in mind” he began.
“Tomorrow is also when I will officially announce that you are my wife,” he added.
“Okay,” I replied, twirling my fork on the plate.
“And make sure that you behave or else you have to be punished” he warned.
“I promise to be on my best behaviour Sir” I said meekly.

We continued eating only to be interrupted by a loud knocking on the door.
