They spread their arms, looking upward, with fanatic smiles carved across their faces, allowing the wildly raging typhoon to forcefully twist their limbs and bodies until they resembled the shape of braids.
Accompanied by strange, echoing laughter, their bodies were finally swept up and sucked directly into the eye of the giant typhoon in the sky.
Tsunade stood beneath the eaves of a building on high ground, looking up with a grim expression at the eye of the storm in the sky that was on the verge of swallowing the entire small town.
“Such a dense concentration of curse energy…”
In her perception, the entire small town was currently like a cylinder of poisonous gas that had been completely blown wide open, with the concentration of the curse surging to dozens of times higher than in the previous days.
Shu pondered inwardly, the original story didn’t seem this inconsistent and creepy!
Had the storyline been altered?
In an open area behind them, a group of people was gathered.
Shuichi tightly shielded his mother and Kirie, while beside Kirie stood both of her parents and her younger brother.
Aside from them, there were also dozens of town residents with haggard faces, yet whose gazes still maintained their sanity.
These people were survivors possessing extraordinarily resilient mental strength or incredible luck, allowing them not to be severely affected within this curse-ridden town.
All of them had been called over one by one by Shuichi and Kirie over the past two days.
Shu placed these dozens of people inside a warehouse situated at the absolute outermost area of Kurozu Town.
“Listen everyone.” Shu raised his voice, “Wait here patiently for my signal! Once we finish sealing the ruins, the distorted space at the edge of this small town should temporarily return to normal.”
“The moment you find the path has opened up, drive your cars and leave this place immediately!”
“I understand!” Shuichi gripped Shu’s hand tightly, “Lord Investigator, thank you so much! If it weren’t for you guys, we probably would have turned into monsters long ago.”
Kirie on the other side looked at Shu and Tsunade with slight anxiety: “But… in that case, what about you guys?”
“Relax.” Shu nodded, “We have our own way to escape, just take care of yourselves.”
After reassuring those people, he turned his gaze toward Tsunade.
“Tsunade, are you ready? Shall we execute it according to plan?”
Tsunade folded her arms across her chest, snorting coldly: “I don’t need a brat like you teaching me how to act!”
Time ticked away second by second, and the storm raged ever more fiercely.
The countdown toward the end of the Main God Space mission had only half an hour remaining.
At this moment, the curse energy in the air seeping into every crack had grown dense to an extraordinary degree.
Even Shu, who had been relying on the Sharingan to resist it, began to feel a strong sense of discomfort.
His vision occasionally experienced double-image distortions, and in his ears it felt as though millions of insects were whispering, tempting and coaxing him to gaze at the spiral in the sky.
Yamato—no, “Tsunade! The time has come! Do it!”
Tsunade suddenly brought her hands together.
“Strength of a Hundred Seal! Release!”
Along with that firm exclamation, the diamond-shaped mark on Tsunade’s forehead instantly radiated brilliant light.
A moment later, the mark transformed into countless intricate black spell prints or molds, spreading rapidly like a spiderweb and covering her cheeks.
*BOOM!*
A massive explosion of chakra burst outward from inside her body ferociously.
The intensity of this chakra was so high that in the blink of an eye it formed a ring of shockwaves that forcefully pushed the surrounding fierce winds back half a meter.
Without pausing for even a single second, Tsunade formed hand seals again at lightning speed with both hands.
“Shadow Clone Technique!”
*POOFT!* *POOFT!* *POOFT!*
Three puffs of white smoke exploded, and three physical clone entities appeared around her.
On each of those clones, equally astonishing chakra fluctuations surged.
Shu, who was avoiding the storm nearby, watched that scene while swallowing hard.
“No wonder she’s called a Sannin who shook the ninja world…” He muttered inwardly in awe.
“Even if we just rely on the sheer amount of chakra erupting after opening this Strength of a Hundred Seal alone, it’s already enough to sweep through ninety-nine percent of ninjas! But… it still can’t compare to Senju Hashirama!”
Before Shu could dwell on it, Tsunade’s three shadow clones had already darted rapidly toward three other directions surrounding Kurozu Town.
With the full-burst speed of a Kage-tier fighter, it took only about half a minute for the four Tsunades to reach their designated positions.
“All positions ready! Begin!”
Tsunade called out in a low voice.
The four Tsunades in the four corners moved in synchronized harmony, forming seals at high speed.
“Four Violet Flames Formation! Rise!”
As the final seal formed, the four Tsunades shouted in unison, slamming their hands heavily onto the ground.
Four pillars of purple chakra light emitting blinding radiance descended ferociously from the positions of the four Tsunades, striking straight into the ground.
A moment later, transparent purple chakra walls rapidly extended between those four pillars of light.
In the blink of an eye, those walls of light connected and closed off, ultimately forming a purple barrier of massive proportions.
The moment the barrier formation closed completely, the various bizarre phenomena throughout all of Kurozu Town seemed as though someone had hit the pause button.
The typhoon that had been raging previously halted drastically.
The giant spiral in the sky seemed as though its driving energy source had been suddenly cut off, its rotation beginning to slow down at a visible rate, and the gale-force strength suddenly weakened.
Shu observed it and realized that method was indeed having an effect.
“Still, will it go this smoothly?”
Sure enough, the surface of the lake enveloped by the barrier suddenly boiled violently.
Wave after wave of grayish-black curse energy that had solidified into a tangible form, as though its anger had been ignited, slammed blindly and recklessly against that purple barrier wall regardless of everything else.
Shu: “😐”
“Do I really have a jinxed mouth?”
*BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!*
Every single time an impact occurred, a muffled pounding sound exploded, and the entire barrier shook violently.
Tsunade, stationed at the four corner points to maintain the barrier, saw her face turn as pale as paper.
“Damn it… just how many years of energy from the cursed thing down here has accumulated?!”
Tsunade gritted her teeth tightly, she could clearly sense that the rebound force of that curse was extraordinarily immense, and her chakra was draining at a horrifying rate.
“Absolutely cannot let go of my hands! Hold on for me!” Tsunade clenched her teeth desperately, squeezing out every last drop of chakra inside her body by force just to maintain the stability of the barrier.
Shu watched the precarious-looking barrier with a rapidly accelerating heartbeat.
“The ruins down there are truly a massive abyss! Inside them must be stored something unimaginably terrifying and foul!”
Although the barrier looked shaky, it was indeed working effectively.
As the largest underground curse source was forcefully cut off by the formation, the suffocating oppressive feeling in the sky above Kurozu Town instantly dissipated for the most part.
Most importantly, the distorted space barrier at the edge of the small town finally returned to normal at this very second.
“Lord Investigator and the others succeeded! Let’s go!!”
Shuichi was the first to notice the weakening of the storm.
