Many guessed that Jiang Han would come today. Otherwise, so many people wouldn’t have gathered to watch the spectacle.

They simply hadn’t expected Jiang Han to make his entrance like this. He walked out in the open, swaggering into view under the gazes of hundreds of people.

The moment Jiang Han appeared, the area erupted into noise. The martial artists of Jiang Family Town treated him like a great enemy, and Jiang Xiaotian’s face turned frighteningly dark.Full novel: Martial Starbreaker — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

In contrast, the Elders and representatives of the Du, Wang, and Guan clans exchanged glances. They quietly stepped back a few paces, their faces showing that they were ready for a good show.

Han Shiqi had been about to re-enter his carriage with Han Renfeng’s support. Seeing the uproar around him, a look of surprise crossed his face.

The Yunmeng Pavilion martial artists in the other carriages quickly emerged. They lined up around the carriages, vigilantly surveying their surroundings and the distant Jiang Han.

Hearing the nearby chatter, Han Shiqi furrowed his brow slightly. Standing on the carriage step with his hands clasped behind his back, he cast his gaze toward Jiang Xiaotian. “Who is this boy?”

The Third Elder awkwardly cupped his hands. “This boy is named Jiang Han, a traitor to our clan. He betrayed his ancestors, slaughtered his kin, and practices demonic arts. He is an unforgivable sinner. Your Excellency need not pay him any mind; we will handle him.”

“Hahaha!”

Jiang Han had already walked over from afar. He stopped a dozen paces from the carriages, laughing twice as he looked at Jiang Xiaotian and Han Shiqi. “I admit to killing my kin. But betraying my ancestors, practicing demonic arts, and being an unforgivable sinner? I won’t accept that!”

With that, he cupped his hands toward Han Shiqi. “Greetings, Lord Han! I am Jiang Han, formerly of the Jiang clan, and Jiang Li’s elder brother.”

“To curry favor with you, Jiang Xiaotian betrothed Jiang Li to you without my consent as her brother. When I refused, he injured me and sent his nephews, Jiang Hu and Jiang Bao, to assassinate me. To survive, I had no choice but to kill them.”

“Afterward, Jiang Xiaotian issued a kill order and put a bounty on my head, calling on the various clans to hunt me down. If I didn’t want to die, I had to fight back. That is why I killed so many these past few days.”

“I ask you, Lord Han-was I wrong? Is it a crime for a man to fight back to protect his sister and his own life?”

Han Shiqi’s face darkened. He said nothing, merely shifting his gaze back to Jiang Xiaotian.

Jiang Xiaotian’s eyes were filled with hatred and killing intent. With so many high-ranking members of the local clans present, Jiang Han’s words had effectively dragged his face through the mud.

Profound power churned wildly within him. He barely restrained the urge to charge over and strike Jiang Han dead on the spot.

Catching Han Shiqi’s glance, he could only grit his teeth and say, “Jiang Han, stop twisting the truth and spouting nonsense. If not for the clan’s protection, you and your sister would have long since become food for Demon Beasts.”

“Now that the clan asks a small sacrifice of you, instead of repaying our kindness, you act perversely. You demanded a thousand Profound Stones before you would allow Jiang Li to marry-who could satisfy such an enormous appetite?”

“You practice demonic arts. When Jiang Hu and Jiang Bao discovered this, you silenced them. The corpses of over a dozen clan members are still laid out in the ancestral hall. This is ironclad evidence. How dare you distort the facts?”

“Jiang Changfeng!” The source of this chapter is g.com.

Having spouted his string of nonsense, the Third Elder gave Jiang Han no chance to reply. He shouted, “Take your men and seize Jiang Han! If he resists, kill him on the spot!”

“No, don’t kill my brother…”

The moment Jiang Li heard Jiang Xiaotian’s words from the second carriage, she cried out and tried to scramble outside.

The two women inside yanked her back. One of them struck the back of her head, knocking her unconscious.

Swish!

Jiang Changfeng and twenty hunting patrol elites dashed out. With their weapons drawn, they charged toward Jiang Han, radiating killing intent.

“Wait!”

Jiang Han let out a deep shout. Han Shiqi slightly raised his hand, forcing Jiang Changfeng and his men to stop in their tracks.

Jiang Han cupped his hands toward Han Shiqi, a look of anticipation in his eyes. “Lord Han, I am sixteen this year and at the seventh level of the Purple Mansion Realm. My true strength is… unmatched within the Purple Mansion Realm!”

“A few days ago in the Heavenly Fox Mountain Range, over a hundred martial artists hunted me, and I slew nineteen of them in a single day. Lord Han, give me five years to cultivate, and I am confident I can sweep through the Profound Nether Realm. As long as you return my sister to me, my life belongs to you! I will obey your every command. Whoever you want dead, I will kill!”

“Hahaha!”

Han Shiqi said nothing. The handsome youth beside him, Han Renfeng, checked Han Shiqi’s expression before letting out a sneer. Looking down at Jiang Han with pure mockery, he said:

“Who do you think you are? A mere Purple Mansion Realm cultivator dares to boast here? Sweep through the Profound Nether Realm in five years? Why not say you’ll reach the Immortal Realm in five years?”

“A white-eyed wolf who betrays his ancestors isn’t even fit to be my master’s dog. Scram. Today is my master’s joyous day. Roll away now and we might spare your life. Otherwise… die!”

Han Shiqi finally spoke. His face was devoid of expression. “Boy, leave. This old man is in a good mood today and has no desire to see blood.”

The moment Han Shiqi’s words fell, the light vanished from Jiang Han’s eyes, and his face slowly turned pale.

He had known many experts would be present today. Saving Jiang Li with his own strength was as difficult as scaling the heavens, so he had made a decision.

-If Han Shiqi let his sister go, he was willing to sell his life to the man. Even if Han Shiqi wanted him as a dog, he would not hesitate.

Unfortunately…

He closed his eyes and let out a faint sigh. Under the gaze of the entire crowd, he slowly turned around. Without another word, he walked step by step toward the distant grove.

Jiang Changfeng and the others watched Jiang Han leave, turning anxious eyes toward Jiang Xiaotian.

Jiang Xiaotian grew frantic. He cupped his hands toward Elder Han. “Your Excellency, this boy has a vicious need for revenge. If we let the tiger return to the mountain, he will eventually become a disaster.” Visit novelping . com for the full chapter.

Han Shiqi didn’t even look at Jiang Xiaotian; he merely waved a hand.

Jiang Xiaotian might not care about face, but he did. To snatch a man’s sister and then murder him-if word of this spread, it would deal a heavy blow to his reputation.

“He’s just leaving like that?”

“Jiang Henshui’s son has no spine. I thought there would be a massive battle today.”

“Bah, I waited here all morning for nothing. What a waste of time…”

“You can’t blame Jiang Han. With so many experts around, you go up there if you’re so capable!”

Chatter hummed through the surrounding woods. Many people wore looks of disappointment, and some even turned to leave.

There was no more spectacle to watch, and their stomachs were growling. Why stay here-to celebrate the New Year?

“This Little Brother just doesn’t have it…”

Up in a large tree to the right sat a pretty girl in a pink pleated skirt with her hair in twin buns. She held a large roasted pork joint in one hand and a jug of wine in the other, her mouth glistening with grease.

She watched Jiang Han disappear into the woods ahead, a disappointed expression on her face. She muttered, “Wasn’t he supposed to be fierce? Didn’t he slaughter nineteen people in one day? Where’s the bloodlust? Where’s the pride? How can Jiang Henshui’s son be such a coward? Go on, kill that old dog Han!”

Jiang Han’s figure had already vanished into the grove. The Yunmeng Pavilion martial artists sheathed their blades and returned to their carriages.

Han Shiqi and Han Renfeng entered their own carriage. Han Shiqi waved in farewell once more, and the convoy slowly began to move.

Many of the onlookers shook their heads, sighing as they stood up to disperse.

Boom!

The convoy had barely traveled a dozen paces when the ground directly beneath the third carriage violently exploded.

Amidst the flying dirt, a black war blade carrying a flash of icy light slashed heavily into the underside of the carriage.

Bang!

The carriage, built from expensive black pear wood, was instantly shattered to pieces by the furious force.

The two Dragon-Lion Horses panicked, rearing up on their hind legs and neighing wildly at the sky.

A black figure shot up from the earth. The long blade, radiating bone-chilling killing intent, carved straight toward Han Shiqi inside the carriage.

Almost simultaneously, Jiang Han’s explosive roar echoed across the wilderness: “Han Shiqi, you old dog-I’m here for your head!”
