Wos’s heart pounded wildly, and he instinctively pulled Aqua behind him.

These thugs had clearly come prepared.

Not only were there more of them than last time, but they also had two tough-looking Black bruisers with them.Full novel: Marvel, DC, and anime? I’ve got them all — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Well, well, well, aren’t these the little bastards?” The bald thug sneered as he walked closer.

“Talk about bad luck running into each other.”

The two Black enforcers were tall and powerfully built, with tattoos all over their arms, clearly professionals.

They stood behind the thugs with blank expressions, giving off a strong sense of pressure.

“Boss, it’s them!” The tall, skinny one pointed at Tom and Jerry.

“These two little beasts are the ones who sliced off all our clothes!”

“And made us run through the street with our bare asses out!” the fat one said indignantly.

“If we don’t get revenge for this, how are we supposed to survive in Hell’s Kitchen?”

Aqua tightly gripped Wos’s clothes and asked in a small voice, “Who are they? They look so mean.”

“Thugs I ran into a few days ago,” Wos said, lowering his voice.

“Tom and Jerry taught them a lesson back then.”

Seeing these old acquaintances, Tom and Jerry didn’t look nervous at all.

The two little ones exchanged a glance, and each saw an eager excitement in the other’s eyes.

“Kid, you got lucky last time.” The bald thug pulled a pistol from inside his jacket.

“This time, I came prepared.”

Wos’s pupils contracted.

Damn it, these guys actually had guns!

The other thugs pulled out their weapons too, with knives, clubs, and even a stun gun.

The two Black enforcers cracked their wrists, their bones making popping sounds.

“Let’s see you play your tricks this time!” the tall, skinny one said viciously.

“If you’ve got the guts, try slicing our clothes off again!”

Passersby on the street saw what was happening and scattered to keep their distance.

Some had already taken out their phones to call the police, but clearly help from afar couldn’t save them from the immediate danger.

Wos felt his legs shaking, but he still forced himself to stand in front of Tom, Jerry, and Aqua.

Although he knew Tom and Jerry had special abilities, he really had no confidence in himself when facing real guns and live ammunition.

“How much do you want?” Wos tried to make his voice sound calm.

“I can give you money, but don’t hurt my friends.”

“Money?” The bald thug burst out laughing.

“What I want isn’t money, it’s face!”

“That’s right!” the fat one chimed in.

“Making us lose face in the street, we have to get even for that!”

Hiding behind Wos, Aqua was thinking about whether to use divine magic.

But remembering Wos’s earlier warning, she hesitated.

“Attack!” the bald thug ordered.

Bang bang bang!

Several gunshots exploded in the night sky, and passersby screamed and scattered.

But something strange happened.

The bullets were clearly aimed at Wos and the others, but for some reason, every single bullet inexplicably veered off its trajectory.

Some hit lamp posts, some flew into the sky, and some shot straight into a sewer manhole cover.

In short, not a single bullet hit its target.

“What’s going on?” The bald thug’s eyes went wide.

“I definitely aimed!”

He fired several more shots, but the result was the same.

The bullets seemed to be pulled along by some mysterious force and were completely unable to hit Wos’s group.

He looked down at himself, then at Tom, Jerry, and Aqua beside him, and everyone was completely unharmed.

“Is this my ability?” Wos thought, his heart stirring.

“Master of Missing the Mark?”

Seeing this miraculous sight, Tom and Jerry’s worried expressions vanished instantly.

The two little ones exchanged a glance, and both wore gloating expressions.

Tom elegantly smoothed his fur, then made a “Please, carry on” gesture toward the thugs.

Jerry went even further, lying right down on the ground with his hands behind his head, looking relaxed as if to say “I’ll wait for you to hit me.”

Seeing that the bullets couldn’t hit her, Aqua grew bolder too.

She peeked out from behind Wos and made a face at the thugs.

“What the hell is this thing!” the tall, skinny one cried in terror.

“How can bullets turn corners?”

“It must be black magic!” the fat one said, stammering.

“They know sorcery!”

The bald thug was badly frightened by the supernatural phenomenon too, but as the boss, he couldn’t lose face in front of his underlings.

“Don’t panic!” he said, forcing himself to stay steady.

“It must be some kind of trick!”

With that, he fired several more shots in a row, but the result was the same.

The bullets seemed to have eyes, flying specifically anywhere but toward their targets.

The two Black enforcers looked at each other.

In all their years in this line of work, they had never encountered such a bizarre situation.

“Boss, there’s something strange about these people,” one of the enforcers said quietly.

“Why don’t we just go hands-on?”

“Yeah! With our fists!” the other enforcer said, flexing his fingers.

“I don’t believe in this nonsense!”

The two burly men charged at Wos, their fists coming down like rain.

But something miraculous happened again.

Their fists were clearly aimed at Wos’s head, but for some reason, every punch inexplicably missed.

“This is impossible! This is absolutely impossible!” one of the enforcers cried out in a breakdown.

“I definitely aimed!”

Wos stood in place without even moving, yet every attack miraculously avoided him.

“Hahaha!” Aqua couldn’t help laughing out loud.

“You mortals are so funny! You can’t even hit this goddess’s servant!”

“Aqua!” Wos hurriedly stopped her.

“Don’t say anything stupid!”

But Aqua had already gotten excited.

She jumped out from behind Wos, put her hands on her hips, and put on a haughty air.

“Let me tell you, this goddess is the Goddess of Water!” Aqua said smugly.

“How dare you mere mortals lay a hand on this goddess’s companions?”

Tom slapped his forehead with his paw, with an expression that said “This idiot is starting again.”

Jerry was even more direct, using his tiny hand to make a “slit the throat” gesture to signal Aqua to stop talking.

Hearing Aqua’s words, the thugs panicked even more.

“A goddess? Did she say she’s a goddess?” the tall, skinny one’s voice trembled.

“No wonder the bullets can’t hit them!”

“Did we offend some being we shouldn’t have?” The fat one was so scared his face turned white.

The bald thug was scared too, but he still forced himself to say, “Don’t listen to her nonsense! There’s no such thing as a goddess! It must be some kind of high-tech equipment!”

“Then explain why the bullets turn corners?” one of the enforcers demanded.

Just then, the sound of sirens came from the distance.

Clearly someone had called the police, and officers were on their way.

“The cops are coming!” the tall, skinny one said in a panic.

“Boss, let’s run!”

“Run what run!” The bald thug flew into a rage from humiliation.

“If we don’t deal with these guys today, how are we supposed to keep our standing on the street?”

He pulled an even bigger firearm from inside his jacket, this time a submachine gun.

“I refuse to believe this nonsense!”

Rat-tat-tat-tat!

The submachine gun fired wildly, bullets pouring down like rain.

But the result was still the same.

All the bullets miraculously avoided Wos’s group, leaving countless bullet holes in the surrounding walls and ground, but unable to harm them in the slightest.

By this point, Wos had fully relaxed.

It seemed his “Master of Missing the Mark” ability really was powerful, able to make every attack veer off target.

Tom and Jerry grew even more brazen, and the two little ones simply sat on the ground, dodging the bullets flying back and forth while making all kinds of mocking gestures.

Aqua spun around excitedly on the spot, completely unbothered by the gunfire around her.

“Amazing!” she cried excitedly.

“This is even better than this goddess’s protective barrier!”

The sirens grew closer, and the thugs began to panic.

“Boss, the cops are almost here!” the fat one urged.

“We really need to run!”

The bald thug looked at the shell casings scattered on the ground, then at Wos’s completely unharmed group, and finally accepted reality.

“Retreat!” he ordered.

“You got lucky today!”

The thugs and the two enforcers fled in disarray and soon disappeared into the night.

Police cars screeched to a stop, and several officers jumped out to inspect the scene.

Seeing the ground covered in shell casings and bullet holes, then looking at the completely unharmed group of four, the officers were baffled too.

“What happened here?” a young officer asked.

“A few thugs fired shots, but…” Wos looked at the bullet holes around them.

“Their aim wasn’t very good.”

The officers looked at each other.

That explanation clearly didn’t hold up.

But seeing the scene, they couldn’t come up with a more reasonable one.

“Are any of you hurt?” another officer asked with concern.

“No, we’re all fine,” Wos said, shaking his head.

The officers took a quick statement and left.

After all, there were no casualties, and the suspects had run away, so there wasn’t much they could do.

After the police left, Aqua excitedly hugged Wos’s arm.

“That was amazing! How did you do that?” she asked curiously.

“Those bullets looked like they’d been enchanted!”

“I don’t know either.” Wos scratched his head.

“Maybe I just got lucky.”

Tom and Jerry looked at each other, both feeling that tonight’s experience was incredible.

Still, for two who regularly defied the laws of physics in the cartoon world, this kind of thing wasn’t all that far-fetched.

“Alright, let’s hurry home,” Wos said, checking the time.

“We’ve had enough excitement tonight.”

The group of four continued walking home, leaving behind a ground full of bullet holes and a baffling unsolved case that would give the police a headache.
