Among orthodox vampire society, almost every member of the Death Dealers was an outlier.
These people hadn’t joined the vampire species for longevity, wealth, or pleasure, but out of their own deep-seated obsessions.
The most typical example was Selene—schemed against, burdened with hatred, driven mad by her vengeance.
Others fought for their families, had nowhere else to turn, or were forced by circumstance.
Without exception, none of these Death Dealers had completely abandoned their lingering human morality.
They were firm of will, marginalized by their own kind, and controlled by others, yet they refused to drink fresh human blood raw.
Otherwise, elites like the Death Dealers wouldn’t have been treated as cannon fodder by the Golden Court Clan for a thousand years, continuously sent to the frontlines of battle.
Not to mention, almost every member of this Death Dealer squad was an old acquaintance of Selene’s.
As Selene explained, the killing intent rising in Mark’s heart ebbed slightly.
Looking at her with mild frustration, he asked, “Selene, are you pleading for the enemy?”
Selene didn’t know Mark thoroughly yet, but she knew he was by no means soft-hearted.
After a brief pause, she didn’t answer him directly.
Instead, she said, “These people have an average net worth of two billion.”
“And every Death Dealer is intimately familiar with the Golden Court Clan’s secular industries.”
“Moreover, Death Dealers are exceptionally skilled at tracking and hunting Lycans.”
Based on her limited understanding of Mark, she strategically cited things he currently needed to dissuade him from killing them.
It had to be said that while Selene seemed cold and detached, she was actually quite clever and calculating.
Every single point hit Mark right where it mattered.
To gain control of Blue Umbrella Corporation and reclaim Umbrella Corporation, Mark needed money—lots of money—in addition to sufficient force.
At the same time, the petty moves made by the European financial syndicates backing Blue Umbrella Corporation annoyed him.
If he acquired the Golden Court Clan’s assets and channels in Europe, he could crush the fence-sitting pests behind Blue Umbrella Corporation with a flip of his hand.
Furthermore, the Death Dealers’ knowledge of Lycans aligned perfectly with Mark’s plans for a Lycan-hunting team.
He could only admit that this broad had surprisingly sharp eyes.
Mark reined in his killing intent and gave Selene a meaningful look.
“Then again,” Mark said calmly, “since these people are your friends, Selene, I suppose I can grant them mercy.
In fact, I can even help them break the control embedded in their bloodlines…”
As he spoke, Mark casually waved his hand, dispelling the Array of Myriad Blood Attunement’s restraint on the Death Dealers.
Smooth as silk, the Death Dealers immediately dropped to one knee and swore allegiance. Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.
Unfortunately, Mark didn’t put much faith in the oaths of vampires.
Once he saw the initial submission of the fifteen Death Dealers, Mark quickly drew fifteen drops of essence blood from the Blood God Banner.
Using the Lotus Flame Light, he refined them into a state that was neither Houtian nor Xiantian, igniting the spirituality within the blood.
These were the most basic form of Blood God Seeds.
Then, using his own essence, energy, and spirit, Mark implanted several spell incantations into the fifteen Blood God Seeds.
Once the refinement was complete, Mark extended a finger, and the fifteen Blood God Seeds shot forward, sinking directly into the bodies of the fifteen Death Dealers.
This was another technique for refining Dao Soldiers, known as Blood Shadow Dao Soldiers.
Unlike the creation of Asura Dao Soldiers, this method was closer to how a deity raised devoted followers.
Mark simplified the Blood Fiend Fiendish Sect’s famous Blood Shadow Divine Ability into Dharma Seeds and implanted them straight into the vampires, forcibly kickstarting their cultivation through rapid growth.
Every bit of strength these vampires gained would nourish and expand the Blood Shadow Dharma Seed within them.
The more time passed, the deeper the Dharma Seed took root.
In the end, if anyone harbored thoughts of betrayal, Mark needed only a thought to trigger the seed, draining their soul, flesh, and blood dry to serve as nourishment for his own divine ability.
Almost immediately after receiving the Dharma Seeds, mystical phenomena erupted across the bodies of the fifteen Death Dealers.
Crimson Dao markings bloomed like blood-red lotuses across their skin before contracting into the shape of lotus seeds and vanishing beneath their flesh.
This was the visual manifestation of the Dharma Seeds taking root.
It had to be admitted that these vampires were naturally attuned to blood-path cultivation techniques.
Had it been ordinary humans, even with Mark’s bestowed seeds, it would have taken ten days to half a month just to condense Dao markings.
After all, Mark himself hadn’t truly cultivated the Blood Shadow Divine Ability yet.
Even though he bestowed the seeds, there was little profound insight embedded within them.
Yet these vampires possessed what was practically a sacred blood constitution across the board.
In the blink of an eye, they absorbed and digested the foundational knowledge of the Blood Shadow Divine Ability, swiftly gaining entry into the discipline.
At the same time, as the Death Dealers absorbed the seeds, the ancestral bloodline flaws within their bodies were rapidly eliminated.
From this moment on, their strength would no longer be shackled by bloodline limits, nor could they be controlled by senior vampires.
They could even stand directly under the sun.
If they mastered the Blood Shadow Divine Ability to minor accomplishment, they could transform into blood shadows, fly through the air, and seep through any opening.
Though silent, their gazes toward Mark now carried a spark of near-fanatical devotion.
Demonic techniques naturally warped the mind; having a few side effects was completely normal.
Mark paid little mind to their fanaticism, merely waving his hand to dismiss the fifteen Death Dealers to the side.
Having dealt with the fifteen Death Dealers, Mark turned his gaze to the remaining vampire leader, Kraven.
With a flick of Mark’s finger, a beam of true qi struck Kraven, causing him to float up into the air.
Because of this, Kraven regained his ability to speak.
“My lord, please spare my life!”
“I can offer my fortune!
I can be your dog too!”
“Right, I know where Viktor’s treasure trove is!
And Lucian, the Lycan leader—he’s my cousin!”
“My lord!
My lord!”
Kraven wanted to say more, but under Mark’s control, a fragment of Kraven’s soul was swiftly extracted into the Blood God Banner.
Dazed and disoriented, he soon fell into a state of living death.
Mark shook his head lightly.
“This vampire is absurd.
Bribing me with property that already belongs to me.”
The moment Mark spoke, Selene rolled her eyes in exasperation beside him.
In contrast, among the fifteen newly surrendered Death Dealers, one of them had a stroke of inspiration and immediately chimed in, “Boss, remnants of the Golden Court Clan are occupying Boss’s wealth in the Paris suburbs.
I am willing to lead a team to reclaim Boss’s property!”
Selene: “…”
Mark nodded approvingly.
“Sensible!
Go on then—and bring back all the vampires there while you’re at it.
Alive!”
