Blue Umbrella Corporation’s “betrayal” seemed a bit suspicious.

They didn’t betray sooner or later, but chose to do so right after Mark arrived in Europe.

Mark had originally prepared to overdraw some of his vital energy and blood to execute a secret art and escape once he preliminarily condensed his spell seed.

But after sensing the vampires hidden behind Blue Umbrella Corporation, Mark’s original “escape plan” was put on hold instead.

If it were against Blue Umbrella Corporation and its armed forces, Mark wouldn’t have much confidence in the short term.

After all, Mark had been cultivating for a very short time.

Even if he could overdraw some vital energy and blood, he couldn’t cast any wide-area destructive spells.

Especially against modern firearms and thermal weapons, which were by no means weak.

But if it was vampires…

The Blood God Dao was the foundational craft of the Blood Fiend Demon Sect.

This was promising.

This was really, incredibly promising.

In the past, the various Dao Ancestors and Demon Lords of the Yanfu World held the authority of heaven and earth.

Starting with almost zero resources, the Old Blood Fiend Demon built his foundation on blood to establish the original Blood Fiend Demon Sect.

Wasn’t today’s Marvel Universe remarkably similar to the Yanfu World of the past?

Earlier, Mark had been wondering where he could gather worldly energy for cultivation after escaping this underground Hive.

The faint trace of vampires behind Blue Umbrella Corporation gave Mark plenty of inspiration.

Wouldn’t it work if he just copied the old path of the Old Blood Fiend Demon?

The Old Blood Fiend Demon had to slaughter tens of thousands to collect the blood of myriad living beings, refine extraordinary blood essence from endless Acquired blood, and then refine sufficient Pre-Heaven True Unity Qi from that blood essence for cultivation.

But with vampires around, even the process of refining blood essence could be skipped.

He could directly refine Pre-Heaven True Unity Qi from the vampires’ bodies.

The Old Blood Fiend Demon using myriad beings as nourishment was pure wickedness.

But using vampires as cultivation resources—that was downright virtuous!

A faint idea and plan took root in Mark’s mind.

However, for now, Mark couldn’t worry about that still-vague idea.

He prepared to draw Blue Umbrella Corporation’s chief executive over first to test the waters.

Immediately after, Mark rose quickly and walked over to a corner of the glass cell.

In that corner of the cell, a hidden camera flickered with a faint light.

“Kristine, I know what you want.”

“Come see me.”

“We need to talk.”

After saying these few sentences to the camera, Mark quickly returned to his single bed, quietly adjusting his condition and conserving his mental energy.

Meanwhile, the surveillance department monitoring Mark quickly sprang into action upon seeing his “unusual behavior.” After reporting up through the ranks, the information was delivered to the desk of Blue Umbrella Corporation’s chief executive.

Kristine watched the surveillance recording playing on a loop on her computer screen.

Once, twice, three times.

After repeating for a full ten minutes or so, Kristine finally paused the surveillance video.

In the frame, Mark wore a slightly disheveled white shirt and black trousers.

He had no sharp metal objects on his person, yet he stood straight and tall like an unsheathed sword.

Tall and handsome, with an aura of noble refinement, his pitch-black eyes were filled with an enigmatic mystery and wisdom that was difficult to fathom.

She stared blankly at Mark’s figure for quite a while before speaking in a slightly raspy voice: “Can someone tell me why the files sent from Umbrella headquarters claimed that Mark is a congenitally mentally disabled imbecile?”

Below Kristine, a group of company executives exchanged bewildered glances.

For a long moment, seeing that none of her subordinates present would speak, Kristine waved her hand listlessly, signaling everyone to leave the office.

Only a short-haired woman wearing a black leather suit with twin pistols slung at her waist, looking valiant and sharp, waited until everyone else left before turning her piercing blue eyes onto Kristine.

A bitter smile immediately appeared on Kristine’s face.

“Ms.

Selene, I swear, Mark Ashford was described as an idiot in the intelligence reports.

Our people only used sedatives and absolutely did not employ any other methods on him.”

“Say no more, Kristine.

I will explain all of this to Kraven.”

“Thank you, ma’am.

Praised be your virtue; your tolerance is as vast and magnificent as the ocean…”

“Shut up!

Spare me the flattery.

We need to go see what scheme the heir to Umbrella Corporation is playing at in his cell.”

“As you command.

I’ll lead the way, ma’am!”

…

No one knew of the conversation in the office of Blue Umbrella Corporation’s chief executive.

Led by Kristine, the pair quickly took a private elevator down into the underground Hive beneath Blue Umbrella Corporation’s headquarters.

Inside the Hive’s glass cell block, Kristine and Selene stood outside Mark’s cell, carefully observing his every move inside.

Unfortunately, Mark sat in meditation with closed eyes, as though fallen into a deep sleep.

No matter how intently Kristine and Selene watched, they could not discern Mark’s inner thoughts.

After nearly five minutes of observation, Selene motioned to Kristine, signaling her to speak with Mark face-to-face.

Kristine frowned slightly, but she didn’t refuse.

She reached out to scan her palmprint on the display screen beside the glass cell and operated the controls.

Soon, ripples like water spread across the glass.

The glass cells here were all constructed from laboratory-grade bulletproof glass.

This glass not only possessed immensely powerful defensive capabilities, but also featured electronic connectivity, one- and two-way visual controls, and various other functions.

Should anyone inside the cell attempt to attack the walls, an alarm would sound automatically.

As the cell’s internal dampening field was deactivated, instantly, Mark, who had been sitting motionless on his single bed, opened his eyes.

Buzz!

The reflection of a Ten-Thousand Transformation Blood God Talisman flashed deep within Mark’s eyes.

In an instant, two strands of mental force—not overwhelmingly powerful, but extraordinarily pure—followed Mark’s line of sight and shot directly into the eyes of Kristine and Selene.

The eyes were one of the primary windows to the mind, will, emotions, and mental energy.

Before cultivating true magic power, this eye-contact technique, a trick of imparting mind-to-mind via mental energy, was an excellent method Mark had prepared early on.

Particularly the two Ten-Thousand Transformation Blood God Talismans Mark had specially nurtured in his eyes.

The Ten-Thousand Transformation Blood God Talisman was one of the foundational runes reflecting the laws of the Blood God Dao.

It possessed potent functions such as attracting blood, controlling blood, and locking blood.

Against ordinary humans, the talisman might not exert a very strong effect.

But against vampires, the Ten-Thousand Transformation Blood God Talisman was an absolute counter.
