Wade had never experienced such a frustrating feeling before.

It was as though his body no longer belonged to him.

His consciousness remained perfectly clear, yet all he could do was watch helplessly as someone else took control of his body.Full novel: Marvel: I Am the Lord of the Stars — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Fortunately, Charles’s telepathic control didn’t last very long before it was released.

“Was that you just now?”

Now that he had regained control of himself, Wade glared at Charles with an unpleasant expression.

Charles looked somewhat apologetic.

“I’m sorry.

I simply didn’t want the place we were in to be destroyed as well.

You know, the impact of a meteorite is enough to destroy this entire building.”

What the hell?

A meteorite could actually fall just because he wished for one?

And now there were mutants involved?

Just because his physical abilities were somewhat better than those of ordinary people?

Wade’s expression remained grim.

“Regardless, I hope there won’t be a next time.”

“There won’t be.”

Charles nodded seriously.

“Please rest assured.”

“Mm.”

Wade lowered his eyelids and deliberately put on an exhausted expression.

“Sorry, but I feel a little tired right now.

Could you let me rest for a while?”

It was obvious that Wade was asking him to leave.

Charles understood very well how people tended to react after having their minds controlled, so he simply spoke in an even more sincere tone.

“Of course.

Get some rest.

And once again, I apologize for what I just did.”

Wade gave another half-hearted response.

“Mm.”

Sigh.

Charles sighed inwardly, though he didn’t let it show.

“Once your condition improves a little, I’ll come back to check on you.”

With that, Charles maneuvered his wheelchair out of the room, closing the door behind him as quietly as possible.

However, Charles didn’t actually leave.

Outside the room, he was speaking with two women standing beside him.

“Professor, how is the boy?”

The woman who spoke had long, fiery red hair.

She was tall and possessed an astonishing presence.

A trace of confusion appeared on her beautiful face.

“I felt an incredibly powerful force just now.”

“I was careless, Jean.”

Charles shook his head.

“I almost triggered his ability.

There’s no doubt about it.

Like you, he’s an Omega-level mutant.”

Jean fell silent.

“Omega-level?”

The other woman spoke.

She had healthy wheat-colored skin, short white hair, and delicate features that gave her a distinctive charm.

“Then could his ability go out of control?”

“Not for the time being.”

Charles replied.

“But from what I know so far, he seems to have some degree of control over celestial bodies.

As for whether he possesses any other hidden abilities, we’ll need to investigate and analyze him further.”

The white-haired woman looked curious.

“Then why don’t we take him with us?”

“I had no choice but to use my telepathy on him just now.

He’s probably not in a very good mood at the moment, so we can’t provoke him.”

Charles paused.

“And besides…”

Without making it obvious, he glanced toward a corner at the end of the hallway.

Using his telepathy, he continued the conversation.

“Agents from S.H.I.E.L.D.

are here too.”

A fleeting figure disappeared into the depths of the corridor.

The white-haired woman looked irritated.

She clenched her fist, and the airflow around them unconsciously began to accelerate.

“Those guys are trying to steal another mutant from us?

I’ll go teach them a lesson.”

“Calm down, Ororo.”

Charles stopped her.

“If we don’t make a move, they won’t either.”

Ororo unwillingly lowered her hand, while Charles continued maneuvering his wheelchair down the corridor.

“What we need to do now is give Mr.

Silent some time.

My telepathy can keep an eye on his condition.

If anything happens, we’ll protect him.”

“Alright.”

After saying that, Ororo and Jean glanced through the glass at Wade.

His handsome face, wrapped tightly in bandages, looked somewhat comical.

They only watched him for a moment before leaving together.

Phew.

They’re gone?

Inside the room, Wade opened his eyes again and stared at the ceiling.

Am I really a mutant?

The more he thought about it, the more exhausted he felt.

His eyelids grew heavier, and his consciousness gradually became hazy.

Finally, Wade couldn’t hold on any longer.

“Forget it.

Forget it.

I don’t want to think about it anymore.

I need to get some sleep.”

It didn’t take long for him to sink into a dream.

In the dream, he saw an endless, brilliant galaxy.

And he was standing at its very center.

The universe was his stage.

The stars were his garments.

With every movement of his hands, countless points of starlight flickered, while countless civilizations vanished.

The “Wade” standing within the galaxy looked considerably more mature than the Wade of reality.

As though he had sensed the presence of his real-world self, the figure smiled at him.

He gently pointed one slender finger forward.

The starlight gathered together, and the countless phenomena disappeared.

“So hot!”

When everything in the dream vanished, Wade woke up once again.

At that moment, he felt as though he had been thrown into a gigantic furnace.

Every inch of his skin seemed to be burning, accompanied by an unbearable, piercing pain.

The agony lasted only a very short time in reality—barely a few minutes.

But to Wade, it felt like an eternity.

“Ah!”

He cried out.

The pain immediately receded like a tide.

At the same time, an extremely faint sound rang out.

A silver, gelatinous object fell from his body.

It quickly curled itself up before fleeing the hospital room as though its life depended on it.

“Did I just hear something?”

Wade wondered if he had imagined it.

He felt incredibly comfortable all over.

The discomfort he had experienced earlier had completely disappeared.

Every muscle in his body was filled with strength, and even his eyesight seemed to have improved dramatically.

He could clearly see several tiny gray specks in the corner of the white wall.

“Why do I feel like my injuries are healed?”

Wade cautiously moved his neck.

There was no pain whatsoever.

He then moved his limbs one after another.

The same was true.

“They’re really all healed!”

Wade was instantly overwhelmed with excitement.

He never would have imagined that he actually possessed such an ability.

But then…

What had that scene in his dream been?

Confused yet delighted, Wade prepared to break free from his current bandage-bound predicament.

However, a knock suddenly came from outside the room.

“Hello.

I’m coming in.”

Someone was coming?

If he left the hospital immediately after being admitted, that would be far too suspicious.

Wade frowned and immediately returned to his previous position.

He pretended to be as weak and helpless as before, lying there as though he couldn’t move a muscle.

The door opened with a soft creak.

A middle-aged female nurse entered.

She had a round, friendly-looking face.

In her hands was a clean and carefully prepared lunch.

She walked over to Wade and gently shook the supposedly sleeping boy.

“Hey, kid.

Wake up!”
