Right at that moment, the Valkyrie Legion swooped down from the high altitude.
“Valkyrie Legion!
Dive formation!”
The Commander of the Valkyrie Legion took the lead, with dazzling silver-white light condensing on his spear.
The four hooves of the Pegasus trod upon starlight, diving at a nearly vertical angle toward the most densely packed area of the Death Legion.
Hundreds of Valkyries riding Pegasi pierced the night sky like silver arrows, their spears drawing countless parallel lines of light in the air.
The moment those rays of light contacted the Undead Warriors, they burst apart, enveloping large areas of Death Legion soldiers in silver-white explosive light.
“Great!
The Valkyries are here!” The warriors of Asgard let out an uplifting shout, the morale of the defense line suddenly soared, and the circular formation that had originally been compressed to its limit began to expand outward.
The diving attack of the Valkyrie Legion dealt a heavy blow to the Death Legion.
Although those Undead Warriors did not fear death, they exposed obvious weaknesses in front of specialized divine power.
The divine power of the Valkyrie had a natural restraining effect on undead-type beings, and Undead Warriors directly hit by the silver-white light would often completely dissipate within a few breaths.
“Maintain air superiority!
Dive repeatedly!
Do not get bogged down in ground melee!” The Commander of the Valkyries circled in the air giving orders.
His voice echoed over the battlefield, every single word carrying an unquestionable might.
However, just as the Valkyrie Legion was preparing to launch its second round of dives, a commotion suddenly broke out in the rear of the Death Legion on the ground.
Those neatly arranged Undead Warriors were pushed apart as if by an invisible force, parting to both sides to clear a wide passage.
From that passage, a huge gray figure sprinted out.
The giant wolf Fenrir.
That giant wolf, ten meters high at the shoulder and over thirty meters in length, rushed out from the array of the Death Legion like a gray mountain.
Every time he landed, he trampled deep pits into the ground.
Blood from the previous batch of enemies still hung upon his fangs, and a bloodthirsty, wild light burned within his amber beastly pupils.
The target of Fenrir was the sky.
He raised his head and let out a deafening roar toward the swooping Valkyrie Legion.
That roar contained a certain ancient and primitive power, his sound waves condensing into visible gray ripples in the air, spreading outward toward the high altitude.
Dozens of Valkyries rushing at the very front were directly hit by the sound wave.
Their bodies shook violently in the air, the wings of the Pegasus lost balance, and their flight trajectories instantly went out of control.
“Hold the formation!
Maintain—” Before the Commander of the Valkyries could finish his last word, Fenrir had already leaped into the air.
The leaping power of that giant wolf was astonishing.
His massive body soared into the air, rising from the ground like a gray peak, a bloodthirsty maw opened in the night sky, and his fangs refracted a chilling, stern light under the starlight.
The first batch of Pegasi bitten by Fenrir did not even have time to let out screams.
The entire Pegasus along with the Valkyrie on its back were bitten in half by his huge mouth, flesh and armor fragments splashing in the air.
When he landed, half of the torso of a Pegasus still hung in his mouth, fresh blood dripping from between his fangs and leaving a trail of dark red marks on the ground.
“Spread out!
Spread out!
Do not gather together!” The Commander of the Valkyries roared frantically, turning his Pegasus around in an attempt to organize his team members to regroup.
But the killing efficiency of Fenrir far exceeded his expectations.
That giant wolf charged back and forth across the battlefield, every pounce taking the lives of several Valkyries.
When his sharp claws waved, he could split an entire Pegasus right down the middle; when his fangs tore and bit, even the silver-white armor was as fragile as paper-mâché.
On the ground, the Death Legion cooperated with the charge of Fenrir, launching a final fierce attack on the defense line of Asgard.
“Hold the line!
Do not—” The voice of that golden-armored general stopped abruptly.
An Undead Warrior pierced a spear through the gap in the shield, the spear tip stabbing out from the back of his neck.
His body stiffened for a fraction of a second, and then he slowly fell forward.
At this moment, the defense line completely shattered.
The warriors of Asgard were simultaneously breached from multiple directions by the Death Legion.
The original circular formation was cut into countless small pieces, each small piece struggling to hold on while surrounded by enemies several times their number.
The battlefield completely transformed from an orderly positional warfare into a chaotic melee.
Figures fighting were everywhere, and flying blood and broken limbs were everywhere.
Just as the Asgardian army was about to be completely swallowed up, the Nine Realms Allied Forces finally arrived at the battlefield from the direction of the Bifrost Bridge.
“Frost Giants!
Freeze the front line—block the main passage of the enemy!”
Accompanied by a rough roar, dozens of Frost Giants from Jotunheim rushed in from the flank of the battlefield.
Their blue skin was covered with thick frost, and every step they took condensed large patches of ice crystals on the ground.
The chill rapidly spread with them at the center, blocking nearly half of the charge route of the Death Legion.
Meanwhile, the Fire Giants of Muspelheim also launched an attack from the other side.
These massive bodies composed of magma and flame formed a stark contrast with the Frost Giants.
Crimson lava flowed down from the surfaces of their skin, and the heat waves twisted the surrounding air into irregular ripples.
“Burn them all to ashes!
Let these undead scumbags witness the wrath of Muspelheim!”
The attack method of the Fire Giants was crude and effective.
They waved huge fists of flame and smashed into the array of the Death Legion.
Every punch smashed several Undead Warriors into scattering sparks.
Although the damage of Fire to Undead Warriors was not as fatal as the divine power of the Valkyrie, the massive kinetic impact was equally remarkable in effect.
The Dwarf Warriors of Nidavellir rushed into the battlefield right after, short in stature yet as strong as oxen, cloaked in armor so thick it could almost resist any physical attack, their warhammers and axes emitting a low, wind-breaking sound as they swung.
The combat style of the Dwarf Warriors was extremely arrogant and brute-force.
They did not care about skills or tactics, purely charging forward head-on, relying on the advantages of their armor and weapons to smash everything blocking their way.
“For Nidavellir!
For the glory of the Nine Realms!” The shouts of the Dwarf Warriors exploded across the battlefield like a series of muffled thunders.
The elite infantry of the Vanir formed a neat battle line in the rear, the weapons in their hands flowing with the light of magic runes.
The combat style of the Vanir warriors was much more precise.
The small phalanxes they formed advanced and retreated in an orderly fashion, the coordination between spears and shields was seamless, and even when facing Undead Warriors several times their number, they could remain undefeated locally.
After the power of the Nine Realms Allied Forces joined the battlefield, the battle situation finally reversed.
The advancement of the Death Legion was blocked by the ice barriers of the Frost Giants, and their rear was thrown into disarray by the flame impact of the Fire Giants.
The Dwarf Warriors forcefully chiseled out a passage in the middle, splitting the array of the Death Legion into two halves.
