“Excellent!

My Bugatti Veyron has finally arrived!”

Ethan was lounging in bed, sipping red wine and scrolling through TikTok, thoroughly enjoying himself.Full novel: Marvel: I Dismantled My System and Became a Super Scientist — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The moment he heard that his car was about to arrive, his eyes lit up.

He rolled out of bed and sprang to his feet.

Over the past few days, he’d been going out almost constantly, relying on ride-hailing services to get around.

It was convenient enough, but having to call a car every time he wanted to go somewhere was becoming a nuisance.

After all, he was no ordinary man anymore.

He might prefer to keep a low profile, but he’d been frequenting upscale establishments, spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on nights out and tipping generously.

It hardly seemed fitting for someone of his means to be chauffeured around in random cars while everyone else arrived in luxury vehicles.

Now things would be different.

With a Bugatti Veyron of his own, he could drive wherever he pleased, turn heads wherever he went, and indulge in a little flirting whenever the mood struck.

“How much longer?”

Ethan headed downstairs and made his way to the busy street outside, a Bluetooth earpiece tucked into his ear.

Through it, he could hear JARVIS clearly and issue commands without having to take out his phone.

“Sir, the car should arrive in approximately ten minutes.”

Ethan glanced around and settled in to wait.

Then he noticed a woman standing at a nearby bus stop.

She wore a red dress that complemented her graceful figure, and her long hair fell loosely down her back.

Even from behind, she was striking enough to catch the attention of anyone passing by.

More importantly, her silhouette seemed strangely familiar.

A playful idea struck Ethan, and a smirk tugged at his lips.

He walked over and gently tapped her on the shoulder.

The woman in red turned around, looking puzzled.

The moment she recognized him, surprise flashed across her face.

“You?”

Almost simultaneously, Ethan put on an equally surprised expression.

“You?”

It was Chloe Bennett, the prettiest girl in his university’s computer science department.

She had a sweet face, a graceful figure, and the kind of natural beauty that made internet celebrities seem ordinary by comparison.

Back in university, nearly half the men in their department had harbored a crush on her.

Ethan had been one of them.

Unfortunately, he had been a painfully shy, ordinary student back then, with little confidence in himself.

Pursuing someone as beautiful as Chloe had seemed far beyond his reach.

“Your name is…

Ethan, right?” Chloe asked, trying to recall it.

She vaguely remembered a classmate named Ethan and recognized him after a moment.

Still, two years had passed.

She couldn’t be expected to remember every detail about someone she had barely known.

“Ethan,” he confirmed with a smile.

“What a coincidence running into you here.

Are you waiting for a bus?”

“Yeah.

I’m on my way to meet a client.”

Chloe smiled politely and nodded.

“Actually, since we’ve run into each other, could I ask you a favor?”

“Sure.

What is it?”

“My company needs some updated employee photos, including full-length shots.

Could you take a few pictures of me with my phone?”

“Of course!”

Taking a few pictures was hardly a difficult request, so Chloe readily agreed.

She took Ethan’s phone and asked him to step back a little before guiding him through several poses.

It quickly became apparent that she had a much better eye for photography than he did.

Just then, Ethan smiled faintly and spoke into his Bluetooth earpiece.

“JARVIS, you can start now.”

A moment later, the phone in Chloe’s hand began to ring.

“Ethan, your phone’s ringing!”

She glanced at the screen, then froze in surprise.

“But…

why is Hugh Jackman calling you?

Is this actually Hugh Jackman, the actor who played Wolverine?”

“That’s right.

It’s him.”

Ethan answered casually, as though receiving calls from Hollywood stars were part of his everyday routine.

“Hugh Jackman, Brad Pitt, George Clooney…

I’m on familiar terms with all of them.”

Chloe looked at him skeptically.

Ethan certainly didn’t look like someone who worked in the entertainment industry.

And even if Hugh Jackman really was calling him, how could he possibly be close to so many world-famous actors?

She shook her head inwardly, unconvinced.

Meanwhile, Ethan stepped forward and answered the call.

“Hey, Hugh.

About that $800 million investment, I’ve already given them the instructions.

Everything should be sorted out soon.”

His voice wasn’t particularly loud, but it was clear enough for Chloe to hear every word.

Her expression changed.

An $800 million investment?

Seriously?

“I know.

Yes, I know!” Ethan continued, sounding perfectly at ease.

“I’ve already taken care of it, so don’t worry.

And the Bugatti Veyron I ordered is arriving today.

I’m standing right here waiting to take delivery.”

Chloe could barely contain her disbelief.

Claiming to know celebrities like Hugh Jackman, Brad Pitt, and George Clooney was one thing.

After all, she couldn’t verify any of it on the spot.

Bragging about an $800 million investment was another.

People could say anything when they wanted to impress someone.

But now Ethan was claiming that he had ordered a Bugatti Veyron and was waiting for it to be delivered right there on the street.

Wasn’t this a little too much?

“That’s right.

Everything’s settled.

And the car wasn’t even that expensive, just a little over $7 million.”

Ethan paused briefly before adding, “You should come try it out sometime when I visit you.”

A little over seven million dollars?

Chloe quietly took a step away from him.

By now, she was convinced that Ethan was an outrageous show-off who would say absolutely anything to make himself sound impressive.

While Ethan continued his animated conversation, a large delivery truck pulled up beside the road.

Its imposing frame immediately caught the attention of passersby.

Two men climbed out.

Both wore matching blue T-shirts and black jeans, and their neat appearance suggested they were professional delivery personnel.

They scanned the area, looked Ethan up and down, and quickly approached him.

“Excuse me, sir.

Are you Mr.

Shaw?”

“All right, Hugh.

My delivery’s here.

I’ll talk to you later.”

Ethan ended the call and turned toward the two men with a calm nod.

“That’s right.

I’m Ethan Shaw.”

“Mr.

Shaw, could we see your identification, please?”

Ethan took out his ID and handed it over.

One of the men used a handheld verification device to confirm its authenticity, then compared the details with Ethan’s appearance.

Chloe watched from the side, utterly bewildered.

She had no idea what was going on.

“Everything checks out, Mr.

Shaw.

Thank you for your cooperation.”

The man returned Ethan’s ID and smiled professionally.

“Your order has arrived.

Would you like us to unload it here, or would you prefer delivery to another location?”

“Here is fine.

I’ll take it for a spin.”

“Certainly!”

The two deliverymen returned to the truck and began opening the rear compartment.

Curiosity got the better of Chloe, and she followed them to take a look.

The moment the compartment doors opened, she froze.

Inside was a large object concealed beneath a gray cover.

Even with the fabric hiding its details, its unmistakable outline left little doubt about what lay underneath.

A sports car!

A low mechanical hum sounded as the loading platform began to rise.

The platform then extended outward, smoothly carrying the covered vehicle out of the truck and lowering it onto the pavement.

“Whoa!

Is that a sports car?”

“Looks like one to me!”

“I’ve never seen a car delivered like that before.

That’s incredible!”

The people waiting at the bus stop and the pedestrians nearby quickly gathered around.

As the vehicle emerged from beneath the gray cover, their eyes widened with excitement, and a chorus of astonished exclamations swept through the crowd.
