What…
what had just happened?!
How could someone suddenly explode out of nowhere?
None of these men were carrying bombs!
And the most terrifying part was that Ethan had predicted the exact moment it would happen!
Could he really tell fortunes?
Could he actually see the future?
“Ethan!
How dare you shoot someone dead in front of so many people?!”
Marcus Vale was both shocked and furious.
He pointed at Ethan, desperately trying to make sense of what had just happened.
“Hey, hey, watch what you’re saying!” Ethan replied, raising both hands innocently.
“I simply made a prediction.
I haven’t done anything to anyone.”
He even flashed Marcus a harmless smile.
Of course, Ethan didn’t need to get his own hands dirty.
The man’s injury had been caused by the phone in his pocket.
Through JARVIS, Ethan had bypassed the device’s security protections and forced it to overheat in an instant, eventually triggering an explosion.
A phone wasn’t a bomb, but under the right circumstances, it could still cause a nasty injury.
“I already told you that I’m a fortune teller,” Ethan continued casually.
“You can think of my predictions as a glimpse into the future.”
He turned toward another thug.
“Now, it’s your turn.”
Ethan pointed at the man and began counting.
“Three.
Two.
One!”
The thug’s face instantly filled with terror.
“You…”
Before he could finish speaking, a sharp bang came from his pocket.
He clutched his thigh and collapsed to the ground, screaming in pain.
“Next, you!”
Ethan pointed at another man.
A flash of fire erupted near the man’s backside as the phone in his back pocket exploded.
He let out a howl and stumbled to the ground, clutching his injured rear.
The remaining thugs stared at Ethan in horror.
“Big brother, you’re next!”
“Sorry, but you’re going to explode, too!”
“And you over there!”
One after another, Ethan pointed at the men surrounding Marcus.
Each time he did, an explosion followed, leaving another thug screaming on the ground.
Only moments earlier, these men had arrived with clubs in their hands, convinced that they could intimidate everyone into submission.
Now, their confidence had vanished completely.
The hotel entrance was filled with cries of pain and terrified shouts.
The students stood frozen, unable to believe what they were seeing.
Even the Olles Hotel security guards were dumbfounded.
Ethan pointed at someone, and that person exploded.
What kind of terrifying ability was this?!
Before long, every thug Marcus had brought with him was down.
Only Marcus himself remained standing, trembling amid the chaos.
“Now then, only you are left, Bloodsucker.”
Ethan turned toward him with a pleasant smile.
“Y-you…
you…”
Marcus’s lips trembled.
His men had all been incapacitated, and he could barely maintain his footing.
For once, even being called by his humiliating nickname wasn’t enough to provoke a response.
He was simply too frightened.
“Bloodsucker, I’ve just made another prediction,” Ethan said cheerfully.
“You’re going to suffer a bloody disaster today!”
His smile remained completely harmless.
But to Marcus, it looked like the grin of a devil.
“Captain!
Their phones!
The phones are exploding!”
At that moment, one of the security guards finally noticed the common factor behind the bizarre incidents.
“Their phones?”
The security captain looked at the injured men, then back at Ethan.
“But how could so many phones explode at practically the same time?”
Marcus’s eyes widened as the realization struck him.
“Phones…
right!
It must be the phones!”
He finally understood why his men had suffered such bizarre injuries.
Although he had no idea how Ethan was accomplishing it, one thing was clear: the man had extraordinary hacking capabilities.
If Ethan could infiltrate his computer and drain his accounts, tampering with a few phones was hardly beyond belief.
Marcus immediately reached toward his own pocket, intending to throw his phone away.
“Hey, hey, hey!
Bloodsucker, I’d advise you not to move.”
Ethan’s voice stopped him cold.
“If you make a reckless move, your disaster might arrive ahead of schedule.
Want to test your luck?”
Marcus froze with his hand halfway to his pocket.
“Ethan, you’re ruthless!” he said through clenched teeth.
“Fine!
I admit defeat today!”
Cold sweat trickled down his forehead.
He was terrified, but he still tried to preserve the last scraps of his dignity.
Ethan tilted his head.
“You think admitting defeat is enough?”
He looked Marcus up and down before smiling again.
“If I’m not mistaken, you have two phones on you, don’t you?”
Marcus’s face turned deathly pale.
He did, indeed, have two phones.
One was for ordinary use, while the other was reserved for contacting his mistress without his wife finding out.
He had never imagined that the devices he’d kept hidden for such private reasons would become the greatest threats to his life.
“W-what do you want from me?”
His earlier arrogance had completely disappeared.
“Remember what I told you during our last phone call?” Ethan asked leisurely.
Marcus’s pupils contracted.
He remembered those words perfectly.
Don’t worry.
Soon, you’ll be crawling at my feet, begging me to spare your life.
At the time, Marcus had dismissed it as an empty threat.
He had assumed Ethan was merely trying to sound intimidating.
Now, he was kneeling on the edge of a nightmare that was rapidly becoming real.
“Don’t push me too far!” Marcus snarled, though his voice lacked its former confidence.
“I have powerful people backing me.
If you touch me, they won’t let you get away with it!”
“Oh?
Is that so?”
Ethan stepped closer until he was standing right in front of him.
Then he leaned toward Marcus’s ear and spoke in a quiet voice.
“You don’t have any money left to give your backers, do you?
Do you really think they’ll still protect you?
And even if they wanted to, do you think they’d be able to find me?”
Marcus’s expression grew increasingly desperate.
“More importantly, if I can make phones explode, what makes you think I can’t make something else explode?”
Ethan’s voice remained soft, almost conversational.
“You might leave this hotel alive tonight.
But are you certain you’ll see tomorrow’s sunrise?”
Each sentence made Marcus’s face lose more color.
Ethan paused, then delivered his final blow.
“And if both phones in your pockets explode at the same time, do you really think the important equipment between your legs will survive?
Imagine what would happen if that were damaged.”
Thud!
That was the final straw.
Marcus’s legs gave way, and he dropped to his knees in front of Ethan.
Money could be earned again.
Reputation could eventually be rebuilt.
Even humiliation could be endured, provided he remained alive.
But if his life, or the particular part of his body he valued most, were lost, none of his money or connections would be able to save him.
“I…
I was wrong!”
Marcus trembled as he bowed his head.
Ethan chuckled.
“Good.
Recognizing your mistakes is the first step toward correcting them.”
He waved a hand dismissively.
“Now get out of here.
Take your men with you.
Don’t leave them lying around and ruining everyone’s evening.”
“Y-yes!
Of course!”
The moment Ethan gave him permission to leave, Marcus scrambled to his feet.
He hurriedly gathered his injured subordinates, and his men helped one another toward their vehicles.
Within moments, the entire group was retreating from the Olles Hotel in a panic.
The security guards watched them leave before turning their attention back to Ethan, their expressions still full of disbelief.
Ethan, however, acted as though nothing particularly unusual had happened.
“Sorry about that, everyone.
That little interruption must have startled you.
It’s getting late, so let’s call it a night.
Everyone should head home safely.”
As he finished speaking, the familiar roar of an engine sounded from the driveway.
A Bugatti Veyron pulled up smoothly at the hotel entrance.
But to everyone’s astonishment, there was no driver behind the steering wheel!
The luxury car had arrived entirely on its own.
“Don’t look so surprised,” Ethan said casually.
“It’s just autonomous driving technology.
Nothing particularly impressive.”
Without bothering to explain further, he opened the door and climbed inside.
The car pulled away from the hotel as his classmates watched, waving enthusiastically after him.
Once he was clear of the crowd, Ethan’s expression gradually returned to its usual calmness.
“JARVIS, you can proceed.”
“Yes, Sir.”
A few seconds later, JARVIS responded.
“Sir, execution completed.
The vehicle has exploded and been destroyed.
All occupants are dead.”
Ethan gazed ahead, his expression utterly unchanged.
Not a ripple disturbed the calm in his eyes.
