Over these three months, aside from guarding Tony every day and absorbing light and radiation, Jones had devoted most of his energy to recalling the events from the original story.

Although his memory of some details was rather hazy, most of the major events had been deeply etched into his mind.

after Tony escaped, he would immediately go into a destructive rampage, blowing up all the ammunition at the base.

Jones had never witnessed just how terrifying the explosions would be, but he was certain that if he stupidly stayed at the center of the blast, there probably wouldn’t be anything left of him afterward.

No…

perhaps he could still leave behind a pair of eyes!

Therefore…

Jones absolutely had to leave this base before Tony got out…

and get as far away as possible!

With that thought, Jones casually rolled over, his gaze sweeping across the entire area outside the base.

Even for terrorists, leaving a terrorist base wasn’t something that could be done easily.

To prevent spies from infiltrating or information from leaking out, no one was allowed to leave the base without the Boss’s orders.

Several gunmen were concealed at the surrounding high points, and anyone who dared to leave without permission would be greeted by a hail of bullets.

“Three on the left, at fifty, one hundred, and one hundred and fifty meters respectively.

Four on the right, at twenty, seventy, one hundred and twenty, and one hundred and eighty meters…

Two have sniper rifles, and five have assault rifles…

This is going to be troublesome!”

Jones murmured softly as his mind began rapidly working through the possibilities.

It took Tony some time to break out of the cave.

The half-dead Yinsen delayed him for a little while as well, and the Boss’s grenade launcher would slow Tony down for another brief moment.

Then Tony would come out and start setting everything on fire…

No!

He couldn’t wait until Tony came out before leaving.

Forget whether he could escape the blast radius in such a short amount of time.

Just based on everything he had done to Tony before, Tony definitely wouldn’t let him leave so easily.

Although Tony’s current Iron Man armor didn’t have any bullets or other ammunition, just the two enormous flamethrowers would already be a considerable problem!

“Damn it!”

Jones let out a long breath and irritably rolled over, turning his gaze toward the sun overhead.

“Why couldn’t I have gotten Superman’s body?

Why did I only get his eyes?!

If I had Superman’s physique, this intense sunlight should at least have given me enough durability to withstand bullets, right?!”

“Huh?!”

A thought flashed through Jones’s mind.

He suddenly rolled over and sat up.

“I’ve got it!”

With a flash of inspiration, Jones jumped down from the ammunition crate in just a few steps and hurried toward the cave.

He then walked directly over to a group of terrorists gathered near the entrance.

“Hey!

Jones!!

You little bastard, don’t you love basking in the sun?

Why are you hiding in the cave today?!”

Seeing Jones’s actions, one of the terrorists who was resting nearby laughed and asked.

“Uh…

Cut it out!”

A helpless expression immediately appeared on Jones’s face when he heard that.

“I do like basking in the sun, but I don’t like getting heatstroke.

Sleeping outside in weather this hot could kill me, you know?!”

“Hahaha…

That’s because you’re too weak!”

Hearing Jones’s words, the terrorist laughed loudly and mocked him without mercy.

“We’re all outside keeping watch every day.

How come none of us have collapsed from heatstroke?!”

The “we” he referred to were naturally the guards Jones had just been observing.

Since they were on lookout duty, they obviously couldn’t stand watch day and night without rest.

They worked in shifts, and the man in front of Jones was one of them.

Jones had finished his shift and gone to rest, so this man had naturally finished his shift as well.

He was one of the more sociable members of the group.

Whenever his shift ended, he wouldn’t immediately go rest.

Instead, he would stay here, chatting and joking around with the other terrorists.

And this man was also an important part of Jones’s plan!

“Fine, stop making fun of me.

Of course I can’t compare with you guys!”

Hearing him, Jones helplessly shook his head, an appropriately dejected expression appearing on his face.

“That’s right.

At least you know your place.”

…..

Jones absentmindedly exchanged a few words with the terrorist, but a trace of anxiety gradually crept in.

Tony should have started a while ago, right?

Why hasn’t the Boss noticed anything yet?

…What a useless idiot!!!

Jones ruthlessly cursed the Boss in his mind while his gaze repeatedly drifted toward a room deeper inside the cave.

That was the monitoring room, an important location within the base.

The Boss was currently inside.

…

Maybe thinking about something really did make it happen.

Not long after the thought crossed Jones’s mind, two people suddenly rushed out of the monitoring room!

They immediately ran toward Tony’s location!

“It’s started!!”

Seeing their movements, a flash of light passed through Jones’s eyes, and a surge of delight ran through him.

Yet his face remained completely calm, giving no indication of what he was thinking.
